Since God's the guy who introduced death and suffering to us (because our great-great- ... -grandparents ate an apple) Jesus is saving us from God, and since Jesus == God, He is saving us from ourselves. Simple, no?

If God is all-powerful, then God could make a universe in which our suffering (and his endless smiting) is unnecessary.

I have debated in the comment boxes of various so called athiest/skeptic videos. What I have found is a mainly people who are ignorant of the Bible, but have read a book by Dawkins, or checked out an atheist/skeptic website, and repeated whatever they say. Not very impressive, and generally the OPPOSITE of someone who is searching for truth. Rather, mostly angry, rebellious types who are really strong on attitude, and weak on actual knowledge of Scripture.

The weight of the evidence all points towards a all knowing, all powerful creator. Even the Atheist in the middle of a debate will admit that the universe appears to be designed. I would say that the majority of living creatures also appear to be decorated on top of being designed. Intelligent design used to be only about biology, but now it has been discovered in cosmology, and that means the mathematics of the universe.

The biggest hole in evolution is the unbelievable complexity of DNA!With all the supercomputing power and human intellect that is tackling this area,we are only at the tip.Nature,with no intelligence,no sentience,could not have developed something this complex,no matter how long its given!Every organism has it.Even the simplest strand of DNA from the"first cell" would have been highly structured,sort of like,gee i dunno,a code from an infinitly superior being maybe,hmmm!

There have been several medical doctors who after examining the evidence, concluded that Jesus should have died BEFORE he got to the cross! That kind of pain was horrible did not stop. The pain from the beating he took, plus the pain from actual crucifixion, was horrific. Add to this Jesus knowing about Crucifixion, and the process and pain, while He was in heaven. Even a quick reading of Genesis, and you would have known this. Please read the Bible in modern English before you start to critique it. Your comments on Jesus death are simplistic and wrong. Jesus Death WAS heroic on many levels. First off, God becoming man would be similar to you becoming a slug. Becoming a slug, and knowing the lifespan, food source, pain, lack of vocal cords, etc, and doing this to SAVE those who have sinned against you would be VERY heroic indeed!!!!

This is only ONE aspect of the sacrifice of Jesus. The next is the death itself. The humiliation was the most extreme possible in that culture.
