I tried to breed bettas before, I put the male and female in the tank together than went to bed. When I woke up the male was dead! :( So I don't know what to do. I have a beautiful albino male, but he lives in a bowl. Can you give me any advice please?

@Umbreonluvr61391 It can be challenging to breed them and a lot depends on the fish's personality. With mine the male was a pretty poor nest builder and the female was the one that was always building the nest. try putting them in a tank but keep them seperated. When you see the lines on the female put them together but closely monitor them and if they start fighting separate them immediately and try again later.

@davidthaot put them together in smaller tank like the one above, i put the female into a cut out liter bottle and the male swims around her. i leave it like that for two weeks and occasionally let her out, and about the third week when i woke up they were already spawning, "she escaped"

place a plastic cup or leaf on top of the water. (you need something on top of the water) for the male to make a nest

when you see a little white thing on the bottom of the female's stomach, that's when you keep them together. If your tank is too big, the female will swim away every time the male tries to get close.

a way to get the female to produce eggs faster is to keep them in a small tank with a clear wall divider.

Can I know whats your setup like? The last time I tried breeding them when i was like 10 8years ago, my male wouldn't stop atking the female, no good result even after many tries. Always end up with a half dying female or a dead one.. till i used up all my pocket money. Is it impossible,to breed them in a basic bowl setup? can u give me some tips?
