god bless our fellow fallen members that we shall never forget them and what they did. Isalute every CAP member that has fall in the line of duty or as a civilian.
I don't know the member who perished, but what I do know is that they gave their lives in a noble cause. CAP is one of the biggest families you will ever have, and we all care for each other. Our ES personnel make sacrifices everyday, including risking their own lives. These three members were truly some of CAP's finest, and as long as there is a Civil Air Patrol, they will not be forgotten!
simerpreet11 I will find out, from Lt. Col. Carlson lf you are not able to cut your hair. I'm connected to this Accident, as I personally knew Col. Henderson who perished with the 2 others. He's the reason why I rejoined CAP. And I'll stay with with till I'm not around anymore, and gone above. Where are you at, I'll find you a unit close by. We'd be glad to have ya. I cry every time I watch this video, as we lost a friend. Lt. Realing Cody Cadet Squadron Cody,Wyoming Wyoming Wing CAP
I was not a cadet when this event happened. I was just a young boy. People do not know the sacrifices our E.S. personel make. It is an honor and a priviledge to be part of CAP. May these men rest in peace, there mission has been completed.
@FireyAfterburner lol. darn :) haha but we can use more guys 2 :) if you join you should message me on here and let me know. you should put me down as your recruiter if you dont have one!
@FireyAfterburner haha ok :) and well... i dont have my pilots liscence so i cant do it by myself, but i have flown a plane before on an orientation (o) flight and it was about 2 or 3 months ago and i was with a pilot. i was pretty much copiloting. ive been in cap for a little over a year now.. took a while but it may be faster for you depending on how often you squadron would do o flights.
@FireyAfterburner haha if you really want to fly alot, you should try for your pilots liscence. well at meetings we do aerospace education, emergency services, physical training, and character development. and ALOT of drill :) its all really fun... if youre into it anyways haha :)
I still remember hearing about this. I was my squadron's first sergeant at the time and my cadet commander was home sick, so I had to tell the cadets about what happened. This video is a fitting tribute.
I love this video, I am sorry for the loss of these fine members who died trying to save someone, they truly knew the phrase "service before self" I salute them. We Will Never Forget.
Amazing video. It touches me so much to know what all these young men and women are a part of, to know the sacrifices they have to make so that they can go save someone they've probably never met before; The only reason being that is what feel they need to do. I salute those lost in the crash and they will never be forgotten.
We lost 3 great aircrew members that day. Our SAR and Air teams our Civil Air Patrol's Finest, and I salute them. May they rest in peace in Heaven, and keep a watchful eye on Civil Air Patrol Members everywhere.
This is part of what makes CAP great: the willingness to drop everything and do whatever it takes to save a life, even giving thier own. God bless these three aircrew who selflessly gave thier lives, as well as all those who have given their life through CAPs history. I've been in for 2 years, and it's a true honor to serve in CAP, and I would be willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to save a life. May we never forget.
I salute the three who gave it all so that others may live, a true honor guardsmen, a true cadet would wish the same, thank you for putting this tribute up.

nice video! I love serving in Civil Air Patrol! My friends make fun of them but I say we risk lives saving people! This is what we do! Everyone in CAP is a brother or sister! You all rock!!! This is out there to every member of Civil Air Patrol!
the guardian the movie i love soo much cause it shows that no matter what it takes that special someone who has a heart to give another life thats a hero and a legend in my eyes
cadet Hrabik!!! our plane engine died and we had to do emergemcy landing and we were over lake michigan and they called my mom because they didnt think i was going to make it but the engine kicked in again and we all had tears in our eyes and my mom called everybody and they were crying !!! and i made it home safly we alnded on ground!! i pray to god that it never happend again and we dont make it adn it never happens to anyone else!!
well if you are in a Single engine aircraft i dont think you are allowed to fly right over the wide open of michigan unless in a Twin engine or unless. If you were close to shore you would`ve of made it. depending on your altitude even landing on the beach would give you a decent chance of survival. plus i think it would`nt be very smart to call a loved one saying the person is going to die though they havent died yet. What Squadron are you from?
This is an awesome video portraying what CAP does and what it's member's do while serving in the program. The many folks who go out to look for and rescue that need help. I just got my Ground Team Member Level 1 rating and I loved every minute of the training I went through to get it. CAP is definitely a rewarding experience. Take my advice all you out there, if you haven't already, get involved in Emergency Services. Go out there and help someone. It will be worth it.
True, the training is fun, and its hard. But I absolutely loved every minute of it. It has taught me a lot over the past couple of years that have been worthwhile experiences for me. I hope all of you feel the same way.
I remember hearing about this when it happened back in 2007. A reminder of the hard and dangerous work and dedication displayed by cadets and senior members of the Civil Air Patrol every single day around the nation. A fine display of true Americans.
A quick comment about the description for this video. This is a great video, but the facts need to be tweaked a little.
There is no evidence that the aircraft caught on fire and then crashed, but there is evidence that the aircraft was destroyed by the fire. You can search for NTSB report DEN07FA140.
Also, you could add the names of our fallen heroes in the description. They were great folks.
Love this Vid. I joined the civil air patrol a while ago and learned alot and made alot of friends. I am an airman basic and proud of it. Right now i'm on temporary leave because i have had alot of trouble in my life and am trying to turn it back around. Once that is accomplished i will rejoin my squad. HOOAH!
I'm thinking about joining cap. i am a private pilot that recently graduated from certified flight school. i want to know if ill be able to get any kind of PIC hours if i join.
God bless the three CAP members.

cadet Hrabik!!! our plane engine died and we had to do emergemcy landing and we were over lake michigan and they called my mom because they didnt think i was going to make it but the engine kicked in again and we all had tears in our eyes and my mom called everybody and they were crying !!! and i made it home safly we alnded on ground!! i pray to god that it never happend again and we dont make it adn it never happens to anyone else!!
XoXowrestlerchickXoX 2 years ago
well if you are in a Single engine aircraft i dont think you are allowed to fly right over the wide open of michigan unless in a Twin engine or unless.

Lt Col Jim Henderson
SM James Meyer
Capt Patricia Larson
Thanks for the great video.
