  • hahahah cultofdusty pwned you good.

  • KelsoFabulous,

How about the treatment of women, as slaves?

    Judges 21:7-23

It says to invade a town, kill all that have had sex, and enslave the underage girls.

How is that not slavery, compared to the abuses of today?

So, according to your Christian belief, are you endorsing the ownership of underage girls?

    It be it!

  • McDonnalds do not own you, you´re free.

  • A servant/slave is someone who has sold/or was bought by someone. A bondservant is a servant who willingly chooses to serve his master for the rest of his life. Even a slave has rights, yet, because they are owned property, the master has a degree in treating them. As in exodus 21:20-21, a master who kills his servants will not be tolerated and be punished. A slave is still a person, the only difference is, his life belongs to his master.

  • Having died to sin and living a new life in Yahushua, we are no longer slaves to sin, but slaves to Yahuwah. If a man does not want to be a slave of Yah, then who else is there to be a slave under? Only sin, so he falls back again. With misunderstanding, many will think the verse of being a slave of Yah only to be contrary and cruel. Yet, it is not.

  • Slavery is not bad nor is it taboo. We will always be a servant to someone. The term has negative understanding due to the abuse it's received in history. Like many things, it's like a double edged sword. It's how you use it. A wicked master will no doubt be wicked to his servants, therefore, those who are exposed to this view will only perceive slavery in such a manner.

  • i was expecting something special when i decided to watch this video but you turned out to be just another ignorant WHITE AMERICAN CHRISTIAN person!

    brainless! shame!

  • Working at McDonald's? LMAO, yeah right woman. You obviously haven't read the Bible.

Try Exodus 21:20-21. That OT law allows you to beat your slave within an inch of his life as long as he doesn't die the same day.

Other verses allow you to pass down your slaves in perpetuity. I'm SURE that happens with McD's employees, being handed down in perpetuity.

Biblical slavery wasn't ANYTHING like working at McDonald's, lady.

  • What kind of fucking McDonalds do you go to, lady!

  • wow what an ignorant woman!Yeah it was a different kind of slavery, because back then those who where enslaved didn't get a chance to demand equality and reperations! If you think back than slavery was any better than slavery later, you're just trying to rationalize it because your so called loving and caring god obviously didn't care! That's how sick religion is, justifying something like slavery!

  • One star!

  • This is a much deeper, better referenced and thought out youtube vid on the subject of biblical slavery:

    watch?v=cgs_gsgn-MU&feature=channel_page

  • 2:49 So, slavery was just a job, like working at McDonalds...

    Exodus 21:20-21

And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished

If, however, he survives a day or two, no vengeance shall be taken; for he is his property

...I guess there was just harsher performance reviews...

  • Hi Lady,

Do like me accept part of the bible and reject others. Tere are parts of the bible that are great. Others, contradict each other i cannot accept the whole thing as true. (impossible) Some verses say 40000 vs 4000 horses.

Neverthless you do not have to reject the whole thing,

    God bless

    Auf wiedersehen, schuss

  • Slavery is slavery, and no matter what form or when it took place, it's still wrong. Slavery was accepted in biblical times, which is really f*cked up. The hebrews were God's people at one point in time, they had slaves, and God condoned this. This is another reason why I believe that the Bible is used as a tool to control the masses with scare tactics, empty promisess, and guilt trips. This is a much deeper form of slavery.

  • Deuteronomy 23:15-16

15 If a slave has taken refuge with you, do not hand him over to his master. 16 Let him live among you wherever he likes and in whatever town he chooses. Do not oppress him.

    Exodus 21:16

"Anyone who kidnaps another and either sells him or still has him when he is caught must be put to death.

  • so basically they were able to BUY people but not KIDNAP them....the bible says that slavery was designed so that the poor could seek protection, and also assist in Israel's cause to bring truth and the messiah into the world ....they were more like servants because they were allowed to run away if the masters were cruel....and they(Jews) were commanded not to oppress them if they sought refuge in their homes...

  • @rakatia285, The apostle paul, disobeyed the bible. he returned the slave onesimus to his master philemon. Read Philemon.

  • wow, it appears you have your 'bible glasses' on!

"Slavery was like working at MacDonalds"...what an ignorant woman you are...can we beat MacDonalds staff so that if they die in 2 or 3 days it is OK?

It does not matter what you CALL slavery "different term for it!" it is still immoral!

The very fact that you would use the term 'biblical times' is quite telling - I can assume you would (when it suits) still claim that the bible is relevant today so that argument is rooobash.

  • Slavery was and is forced labor without received compensation. By compensation I mean payment, like wages. Food isn't a payment, it's like waxing your car, protecting your property value. Slaves are considered property and sold like such. And this is the definition used in the bible as well. It took me one minute to find this with several references to scripture and archeology.

When seeking knowledge, check Wikipedia first. If you don't believe that, check the sources cited in the text.

  • perhaps slavery was different back then, but how do you explain the permission the bible gives to the owners of the slaves to beat them and even kill them as long as they dont die right away. Also why did they sell their daughters, no sane man would ever consider such a montrosity.

  • If slavery in the ancient world were like employment, as you and other apologists have suggested, then why did Moses need to free his people? Shouldn't they have just gone and sought slavery/employment somewhere else if they were unhappy with Ramses' management policies?

Of course not. The Hebrews were captives of the Egyptians, just as slaves in the OT were captives of the Hebrews, as the verses clearly explain.

  • There were circumstances when it was being abused, as it is today and how everything we do can have a bad outcome. Doesnt make the process any less wrong.

  • Ralph1Waldo,

You claim the Bible speaks of sex slaves, the instance you reference is a description of a betrothal, a marriage contract where one is engaged to be married.

A point you seem to be missing, Hebrew and egyptian slavery are different.

Slavery of this time was called ANE slavery and it was unjust. The hebrew form of slavery was different from other cultures. Many times the Bible tells them to remember what it is like to be oppressed in Egypt and not to oppress others.

  • "The idea that you can judge the culture back then, was comparable to the culture definitions now. Do you try to apply the Womens Liberation to the cavemen era?"

But this is exactly the point and why it is wrong to look at the Bible as a guide for our morals today. Slavery was a fact of life in the ancient world. We've made PROGRESS. We have abolished it in most civilized countries. We have moved on from these dark times. We have done this despite what the scriptures say. Because it was right.

  • No the point is that the idea of slavery in the Old Testament is still practiced today but in other cultures. And the other cultures dont look at it as Slavery.

Please answer the question, are you suggesting we should impose our culture on others because you define it as the "right way"?

  • To compare slavery to employment at McDonalds is, frankly, DISGUSTING. Slavery has always been slavery. To deny this in order to defend the OT's morality is to bear false witness in defense of one's faith. Doing so renders this faith meaningless and empty, and doing so is SHAMEFUL.

  • [Sarcasm] Killing disobedient children (Leviticus) and stoning unchaste brides (Deuteronomy) wasn't really "killing." Back then in Biblical times, killing was kind of like...talking sternly to someone. You know, like you'd kill your kid if he swore at you. But it was really more like you just grounded him.

  • The Bible clearly says that slaves are property, and are passed from one generation to the next. It says that Hebrews can take non-Hebrews captive and force them into slavery, that children born to their female slaves are their property. It says that you can beat a slave to within an inch of his/her life, and if the slave doesn't die after 2 days, you've done nothing wrong! Furthermore, Deuteronomy unequivocally states that you can sell your daughter as a SEX SLAVE.

  • there are still cultures TODAY that practice this. ANd it is NOT called Slavery. Are you assuming that we should go into other countries and change them into the American way, because we are the right way?

  • Kelso - I bear you no ill will and I come in peace. But the ignorance here is absolutely stunning. Slavery is, was, and has always been about owning human beings as PROPERTY. It is and has always been a HORRIFIC practice.

If you have not learned more since you posted this, start with Wikipedia and read about slavery in the ancient world.

  • Ralph, are we not a slave to the society around us? Our family traditions? To the money we need to survive? To the gov't? To our spouses? To claim that you are not in slavery at this moment, would be absurd. As the idea that you can judge the culture back then, was comparable to the culture definitions now. Do you try to apply the Womens Liberation to the cavemen era?

  • Slaves to our spouses and the government? What in GOD'S name are you talking about? Does your spouse own you -- can he dictate everything you do in your life and beat you with impunity???

It is preposterous and wrong to suggest that slavery in the ancient world was somehow akin to employment today, and you should take down this video or apologize for saying so. Slavery still exists. We must fight for human rights in this broken world, not rationalize their abuses.

  • I am assuming you aren't married. Because in a marriage, atleast a successful one, one compromises themself often for the other. You CHOOSE (like the slavery chosen in the bible) to be married and to at sometimes sacrifice your wants and needs for the other.

Please, don't continue with the worthless arguments "you should take down this video or apologize for saying so" Because many of your previous statements are close to getting you blocked.

  • You are a real stupid BITCH. In the bible, God told Abraham that he will have a seed that will be captured and sent to far away lands for slavery. YOU DUMB WHITE BITCH.

  • Why wouldn't a loving god just eliminate slavery forever?

It seems obvious that religion itself is a form of slavery. No wonder religion doesn't stress individual liberation. Even Jesus declared that people who don't follow and believe in him have already condemned themselves. Pure paranoia and hate on his part.

    Humans need liberation instead.

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the world of technology

  • Hey, KelsoFabulous, make a video or post a text explaining why god would write Exodus 21:20-21. Go ahead so that the SMART people can see just what kind of fucking dumbass you really are.

  • Ex 21:20-21 "If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property."

"if the slave gets up after a day or two" as in.. survives..

We see in the next couple verses if you seriusly injure your slave the slave gets pardoned of his debt and set free. Beating your slaves is not advocated in the bible, thats why they have rules against it.

  • Hey, Epydemic2020, it states NOTHING about freeing the slave that gets up after a day or two, YOU DUMB FUCK!!!

  • Exodus 21:26-27

"If a man hits a manservant or maidservant in the eye and destroys it, he must let the servant go free to compensate for the eye. And if he knocks out the tooth of a manservant or maidservant, he must let the servant go free to compensate for the tooth."

We see two examples of when a slave would be pardoned of his debt and sent free. It seems to me that any serious injury to the servant would result in pardoning of the debt.

  • "It seems to me that any serious injury to the servant would result in pardoning of the debt."

So you can own another human being as property, rape and beat her as hard as you like as long as you don't start removing pieces of her body? SICK. You should be ASHAMED of yourself.

I THANK GOD I don't need scripture to tell me right and wrong, or I, too might be truly LOST.

  • Ralph1Waldo,

No, you cannot "beat and rape your slaves as hard as you like as long as you don't start removing pieces of her body".

And you cannot sell your daughter as a sex slave.

oh wait, you used wikipedia? In that case you must be right.

  • Epy - We're just reading the "holy scriptures" here. You should try it sometime. It might add a little bit of gravitas to your claim of being a Christian.

And just maybe might it mitigate the amount of vile and ignorant statements that you retch onto the internet.

"When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again." EXODUS 21:7

  • Ralph1Waldo,

"Epy - We're just reading the "holy scriptures" here. You should try it sometime... And just maybe might it mitigate the amount of vile and ignorant statements that you retch onto the internet."

Seriusly? You know I have done my research. My video has already addressed all of the claims you make, and probably ones you will make in the future.

You have formulated your opinion without regard for the evidence and your claims stem from your misunderstandings.

  • Lotanddaughters,

If you get set free because you lose a tooth is it not logical to think you would get set free over almost losing your life?

  • This woman is using Google and the Bible as her sources? She has very little understanding of what slavery is or the purpose it served in any era of history. She needs to be quiet. Please be quiet.

  • We are not hamitic we are the children of israel stop beating avoiding the truth.

  • You are talking total nonsense! The Bible clearly approves of slavery in many passages, and it goes so far as to tell how to obtain slaves, how hard you can beat them, and when you can have sex with the female slaves.

  • I think you have misinterpreted the Bible, (especially the sex with female slaves part) you should just take a look at the video I made about biblical slavery, it addresses all those issues.

  • I was talking to YOU not Geraldine Ferraro. Your thoughts? I want you. I want your thoughts.

  • Do you really need an instruction manual, i.e. a bible to tell you that treating people like property is bad?

Some morals we just have to arrive at on our own.

  • We are a religious nation because we do not have a state religion, because the government guarantees freedom of religion but has no role in religion, because not only do we tolerate our religious differences, we celebrate them.

    -Geraldine Ferraro

  • Slavery to the Gods is unbecoming of a Free People.

  • Didn't Jesus indicate that he believed the Old testament filth was the word of God in numerous places? Didn't Jesus go a step further and claim he, himself, was none other than the OT God? So it was Jesus, who is the OT God, who said this: If a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod and he dies at his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, he survives a day or two, no vengeance shall be taken; for he is his property. Ex 21:20-21 Praise pro-slavery Jesus!

  • This was really interesting and helpful.. I'm writing a paper for a class about refuting the major arguments defending slavery (one of them was that slavery is mentioned in the bible) Thanks!

  • Dont take it bad but hired workers existed at the times.

Hired workers and slaves had different lifes.

Point you left out is that only slaves from jewish populations could expect to be treated in a certain way in the bible.

All the others were left at the discretion of their masters.

  • I believe the Bible was for all humanity and that the Jews were stewards of it. They were chosen to be the head of humanity in God.

So all throughout history people have treated slaves according to the bible.

  • The only treatment for people of your kind is go to a trip to Orthodox Israel regions and get you start to spout out this crap.

You will see how Jewish people will correct you fast in your errings.

  • The bible was very clear that slavery was taking place and how you could treat them/beat them... Read Exodus 21, there are also other chapters/books about it.

  • It is the form of punishment used during that time. As you see in history, there are MANY forms of punishment society has moved away from (the stockade, gillatine etc). As one day, we will move away from the form of punishment we use today. May move to something more drastic, or less. You receive punishment when you break laws. There are laws enforced everywhere. We are a Slave to the laws and authority then I guess.

  • What about the selling of the Daughter and Sexual content? How can the bible on one hand say be Peaceful, Non violent,Forgive 7X70, Love thy Neighbor, Vengance is lords, then in another chapter tell you how to mistreat a person? Man made laws are suppose to do that not the bible.

  • What about the sexual content of those sinning? Sodom and Gamora was pretty bad in their sexual acts. Again, your idea of mistreatment, was punishment. It was never spoken to just commit these on the wim, because you were bored. There was punishment for actions, as there is today and will always be.

  • During the life of Jesus, the Roman Empire was widely practicing one of the most barbaric forms of slavery ever (a master could do anything at all to his slaves, including screw them whenever he wanted to -- even the children). Would you like to point out a McDonalds where the owner can beat and f**k his employees at will? Roman slavery was arguably far worse than American slavery. The New Testament taught these slaves to obey their masters as they would obey God and never fight back.

  • You make it sound as if the biblical slaves chose to be "servants" which is reflected in your analogies to workers at McDonalds and maids to celebrities but that wasn't the case. Biblical slaves were either captured or kidnapped and served as servants simply because they were from a different "tribe", "Religion" and/or "land." There is no difference between biblical slavery and American slavery.

  • On another note...I was a military brat and as such was born in Germany. Dad was stationed in Hoenfelds at the time but had to drive to the hospital in Nuremberg for the delivery.

  • Slavery was definitely different and your analogies are pretty sound. There were actually many people that chose the life of slavery to take care of their families.

  • Rome and Greece had about 27.5% slaves!

For 2,000 years there were millions of white slaves!

  • They were well integrated in the society, not put aside like US slavery.

And they could work at many charges.

    Nothing to be compared.

  • Genesis 15:12,13,15 confirms YHWH told Abraham that his descendant would be sold into slavery for 400 year and be brought into a land that is unknown to him and HIS poeple. Deutoronmy chapter 28:1-68 describes that affliction that The Hebrew Israelites would suffer in this UNKNOWN LAND (America).

  • The South even used the Bible in its PUBLIC DISMEMBERMENT of Blacks in what they called "Lynchings" in heavily poulated "Christian"

towns where newspapers read,"Nigger Burned Alive"

all across America this TERRORISM was practiced.

It's all documented, not mere opinion thankyou.

  • Whites were slaves long before blacks and in much heavier concentrations. Julies Cesar had 1 million white slaves, and Rome and Greece were filled with 30% slaves.

The Romans would send their white slaves down into the lead mines to mine lead, go insane and die!

Only 2% of whites owned slaves, put things in context! Thousands of blacks were mistreated by their black slave owners!

  • Rome held slaves of all colors and ethnicities. While the upper crust of Southern American society held the majority of slaves, the American society as a whole supported the South's 'Peculiar Institution' until hostilities broke out at Fort Sumter.

  • There isn't a Biblical slavery based upon RACE! The hot branding, rapes and renting out of Black women as

prostitutes isn't found ANYWHERE in the Bible. White folks thought Blacks were under a Biblical "Curse of Ham" and manifest destiny was God's permission for the "Trail of Tears" killing Native Americans.

  • AGain, whites were slaves for 2,000 years before and during black slavery! You should be happy to note that Julius Cesar had 1 million white slaves! The term slave, comes from the Slavs, and eastern block people who were used to being enslaved since ancient times!

  • Throughout the Middle East and North Africa, the word for Slave is Abid, which means Black. The regional term for Slave naturally derives from the principal ethnic group thus victimized.

  • We are all descended from slaves. The Communist NAACP has been trained by the elite socialists who want nothing but power, to whine continually about slavery to divide America, and to get blacks to get nothing but special treatment for something which is blown completley out of proportion.

It is illegal under the constitution for any group or people to get special treatment ie. affirmative action, or other special treatments!

This fosters more resentment amoung whites.

  • Nowhere in the Constitution is Affirmative Action mentioned. Preferential treatment granted by AA is arguably unconstitutional. If the modest preferences granted minorities by AA are unconstitutional and foster resentment among Whites, the pervasive racism in America, which grants Whites preferential treatment in every aspect of life, is also unconstitutional and fosters greater resentment among minorities. Since White racism is a greater violation than AA, focusing on the latter is 'whining'.

  • The constitution stipulates that no group should recieve a special advantage not open to all Americans!

There are successful people of all races, to point and shriek at white people as a whole because they are different and perhaps a little more successful is absurd. There are equal poor of all races! The society where you see to envision is one where the State has absolute authority and nobody else has anything!

  • Then let the Constitution be blanketly applied so both Affrimative Action and White racial prejudice are outlawed. Thing is, a stroke of the pen could elimiante afirmative action, while no legal remedy exists that would ban the advantages all whites enjoy, be they rich or poor, in America soley due to their pale skins.

  • If that is the case, nothing is stopping the whole of africa to be enjoying not having white people around! Why is Africa the poorest continent on earth?

  • Africa's manifold problems stem from many sources, colonialism (European and Islamic) being among them. The problem is NOT White people; the problem is racism.

  • Sounds like more excuses to me!

  • That's because you have a closed, irrational mind bound by a rigid agenda. Instead of stating specifics, you spout blanket dismissals (what specific excuses?) You leap randomly back and forth between unconnected issues. What relevance does Africa's plight bear to American Affirmative action? And you're a master of non-sequitor. How does defending Affirmative Action make me an advocate of the Total State?

  • It's common knowledge that the NAACP was run and created by socialists!

  • I don't care if the NAACP was created by COMMUNISTS! The NAACP fought for civil rights and human dignity during the dark days of Jim Crow and lynching.

  • You know what, blacks murder more whites than ever now! Then ever during the Jim Crow days!

The few lynchings that were done then, do not hold a candle to black on white crime now!

You can't point and shriek and continue to not dust your own house!

  • The same forces that created White Power, Feminism and the civil rights movement work collectively for their goals. Absolute power of all the worlds resources and the elimination 90% of the world population!

These global elite have enough money to fund both sides of any conflict, and they are doing so now!

Increasing taxes on the working, to redistribute crumbs to the non working, only increases their power!

  • Blacks got 'special treatment' during Jim Crow-

laws were made to kill them for no reason other than drinking from the wrong fountain, eyeballing a white woman etc. So if white folk dont want to accept the problems they created then their enemies grow worldwide, read the China Report on America's human rights violations against Blacks!

  • The point is that blacks are not the only culture victimized by slavery.

The only place all men are equal is in the grave!

  • The task is to rid social institutions of sexual and ethnic bias so unequal social outcomes reflect natural inequlities in ablity, as oppossed to discrimination.

  • Thank you again for a great video. learned a few things like i did in the last. I will make a video response, i iwll hopefully give it a great title. But it will have to be up later because at thos time i have to get ready for work. thanks again and i hope you enjoy your....morning i think lol
