just do the same as long as you take your time wrapping the tape carefully, it will look clean, ive had 1/2 plugs taped to 1 inch that look clean , but you might want to get a plug after two sizes cause the tape starts to look dirty

yea you can do that and since the teflon will be a bit tight in your ear they wont fall out, but its better to get double flared or saddle jewelry for your next size
