to any one thinking of being a novice. before you swear youre oath to the Vatican, i suggest you look up The Holy Roman Empire. and especially the one who ruled it. Charlemaigne. study how he treated the Saxon leadership at Verdun in the 8th century. then look up another thing approved by the Vatican, the Maleus Maleficarum, after journeying through that holocaust, you will think very differantly about the church i used to attend. i had no idea such abuse was endorsed by the popes.

This is a Benedictine Seminary (with a Minor Seminary too) in Mission, B.C. It's called the Seminary of Christ the King. It's a cool place.

I will be attending Immaculate heart of Mary Seminary in Wenona Mn. soon for my under grad. work and Mt. St. Mary's in Emmitsburg Md. for my grad work. They are both amazing seminaries with beautiful landscape

I've been to this Seminary, and how gutted it is, compare that with our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary operated by the FSSP, what a difference. It also helps that the FSSP does not celebrate the Novus Ordo.

I should make myself clearer, I'm not a seminarian, what I meant to say, was that I visited the Seminary in question. I do not reject the Novus Ordo, and do not think that it is invalid when celebrated with the proper matter, form, intent and due dignity, however.

Also, if I did reject the Novus Ordo as invalid, why would I be going to a parish run by the FSSP and furthermore why would I be going to confession (many times) before a priest ordained in the Novus Ordo? Since priests of the FSSP are ordained by bishops consecrated according to the Novus Ordo rite. If I were to think that the NO was invalid and their orders invalid I would then think that the FSSP has invalid priests. I prefer the traditional Rite of Mass and acknowledge it's riches...

hurrah for the Benedictines...they had a great documentary filmed at Worth Abbey (UK) by the BBC called the Monastery. Should be on Youtube. Great stuff too.

the benedictines , carthusians, and carmelites are the backbone of monastic life. Though about joining 2 of these orders but realized i am called to the diocesan priesthood, so hopefully my life as a seminarian will begin soon. I am getting impatient.

thank you for your words trust me at the time I wrote that I had just started exploring my vocation now I am so devouved with a want to serve god and his people its such a good feeling I have started even before seminary to start my minstry(granted its a ministry of the priesthood of every catholic but a ministry nevertheless) I would accpriate your prayers though

As an alumnus of this seminary, I will vouch for it completely. It is a wonderful, though challenging place. Very conservative in its theology and practices, yet with an open heart. The classes are top-notch and the prayer time (including their awesome masses) are a devout Catholic's dream come true! And it is fully accredited, too.
