nice video, i love this breed, just got to see this breed for the first time at the chicago dog show, are they hard to take care of? how is maintenance for this breed?

@dudejustponts Nope, they are miserable in hot climate. I live in Denmark (northern Europe), and even our summers can be a bit much for my Irish Wolfhound.

I wouldn't recommend getting one if you live someplace where it's generally warm. Have you considered a great dane?

My sister's Wolfhound is a lovely specimen---not the brightest but docile and sweet as can be. The worst she''ll do is drool all over you. Unfortunately long life is not in this breed's genetics (average lifespan is about seven years) but lot's of exercise helps these wonderful dogs live longer.

I am not a smoker and nor do I like smoking but there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with a person handling an animal while smoking. As for the conditions they are living in I see nothing harmful about it and the other dogs are in great shape. Perhaps YOU should seek counseling electric slipper.

That was cute! God I love IWs. I've had the opportunity to work with quite a few as a trainer, and I've fallen in love with the breed. Once my three boys pass...I'll be adopting an IW. It's good to see someone who loves his dog. Way to showcase the gentle disposition of these dogs.

@StSimonMartyr Professional trainers NEVER train with a lit cigarette. The lit cigarette comes dangerously close to the nose and eyes of the IW. This is unconscionable, and is an evidentiary of a very stupid or perhaps dull normal fat old man. By encouraging the dog to place it's fore-paws on ones shoulders, if the animal does it to someone who is not expecting it and is injured, this video is prima fascia evidence and the retarded old fat boy will lose in court. The dog is very handsome.

Smoking does not impair work.

Same as other jobs, ie roofing, plumbing or electric.

This is a very well trained irish wolfhound and is a real asset to his master and mistress that is taping this for you tube. I really enjoyed viewing this because the man in the video really loves his animals and they will do anything for them because of the strong bond between them. RJS.
