coe sucks, you dont need sand to get down u can use the towers to build on them going down.

the tops of the towers have dark spots (And probably spawners embbeded into them) that creepers can spawn on. then, the creepers would jump on their face and kill them and take out part of their bridge

I have come to the conclusion that the stone platforms with spawners underneath were suppost to spawn mobs onto the platforms as another hazard, however because of the lava, none of the platforms were light level 7, meaning mobs can't spawn. I may or may not be correct. However Vech needs to watch more ethos lab.

@DJparsons89 If you look carefully Vech didn't use glass for the ceiling over the sand to obsidian area so they are not taking direct sunlight there and the ones that follow them into the water won't burn because of said water.

those stone boxes with the 3 x 3 x 1 spawners is Vech's 'fun box' .

They hold every kind of normal world hostile mob spawners.

@MrFlyinglemons I think that is what the spawn pads were for. If you were to flood the area, the light from the lava disappears, and then you get mobs everywhere.

@iStarset The spawners spawn mobs within a certain radius of it. So even if it is completely covered, mobs can still spawn on the top of the pad. The only way to completely shut off a spawner is to light up the surrounding area, not bury it.
