  • It sounds good, but he's a special kid not hyper lol and though the dance is a very interesting choice, the monster is what makes that part really funny

  • Not bad, not bad

  • That was my favorite interpretation of the song aside from the Broadway versions. Only thing: it's "geenus" not "guinness."

  • They messed up and he covered. No one said he got it right over the other microphone. It was still awesome. :)

  • AMAZING!!!

  • very funny, very cute, very talented. loved it!!

  • I am a girl and I am this part this for my show at school (not enough boys lol). Im playing a female version. This is a awesome performance! Well Done!

  • @lkansell You school didn't plan on not having enough boys when choosing the play?

  • @mccplaymakers Yeah its how it worked out.

  • if i was a guy, i'd love to play this part... actually, i'd love to play this part anyway...

  • @PeterPanDisneyDork i'm nto a guy and I get to play this part next week!!!

  • @toughcookie5454 LUCKY!!! that was kinda my point... i'd wanna play it anyway...

  • @PeterPanDisneyDork BEST TIME I HAD PLAYING HIM. He is just so fun, loveable and HILARIOUS that it's impossible to hate him and not connect with him

  • @toughcookie5454 well, i'm glad you had a good time :) did you change the character name to a more feminine name, or did you just leave it?

  • @PeterPanDisneyDork JUST LEFT IT. Like if I played a girl version of leaf...that wouldn't work. What's good is that becuase I AM A GIRL (higher voice) and because he's only 12 (but really acts like he's 10)...and 12 year olds typically have high voices...EH EH??? NICE RIGHT??

  • @toughcookie5454 wait what? u mean if leaf was actually swapped to a girl as opposed to just bein played by a girl?

  • @PeterPanDisneyDork NO!! sorry... I'm a girl and I played Leaf as a boy. sorry :) ahahah

  • @toughcookie5454 ooookkk... that makes a LOT more sense! haha :D

  • @PeterPanDisneyDork I've seen a girl play it and do great.

  • WONDERFUL.

  • This is one of the best interpretations I've seen. I love that you do the little dance to the "doodle doodle" part and instead of using the little finger puppet everyone else uses, point at the audience. Also the best audience reponse to "I forgot the word." Best of luck in future endeavors!

  • mmmmmmmm..........k

  • Comment removed

  • I'm auditioning for him in less than a week, and I'm singing Empty Chairs from Les Mis - it's good for showing off range and emotion

  • try something from AVEQ

  • Avenue Q or Charlie Brown - that's what I used.

  • i like the newer spelling bee this year... much more fun~~ ahahh~~ i got to be on stage also! yea! i got to spell mexican! and muntjack! whoot~~ and i got a juicebox! how many of you guys can say that?! i was at the one that had the fire alarm in the middle of the show...
  • i was in it too!! they sang Life is Pandemonium because of me! lol. My first word was cow...then puissant. lol. it was lefit. i enjoyed the juice box and hug from mitch mahony.

  • You are awsome! This was so funny! but i got get why the begining of the song when you talk different from what the play is??

  • whoa this is an ameateur? NO WAY!! hes really good!!

  • I really like this performance. The only thing that could make it better is to not be as shaky on that second to last note. (I know it's hard, because it's so high. I shake when I sing it too)

  • i thought high schools weren't liscensed to do this production yet?

  • I guess they changed it enough that they didn't need one

  • This is reaaaally good. Definitely one of the best performances I've seen out here on youtube, and definitely the best non-professional one I've seen.

  • jordan is awesome!

  • So i wanted to sing this for a audition for the Wizard of oz i really want the scarecrow but i noticed that there's alot of pauses in between and i'm wandering if the accompianst will be able to figure it out so i can sing it with the pauses in it? oh and do you think this is good for the scarecrow audition? lol

  • this isnt really a good song to audition with?

  • I would audition with a song from that particular production, preferably one preformed by the Scarecrow.

  • generally in auditions, they hate it when you sing a song from the musical your auditioning for.

  • why do you say that?

  • because i do a lot of auditions. They want to see that you have singing capabilities outside of the songs you know from the musical. they like to see people in different genres of theatre, not just the type that they're putting on. Plus, if they allowed songs from the show to be done in the audition - do you think they'd hear ANYTHING else?

  • @penelopeew I relate my music to a different character from a different play, for instance i was trying to the play annie as miss hannigan, I used the song perfect isnt easy from Oliver and Company, i did movements like i was disgusted and drunk, and made a great character! i was determined. Great acting, I learned so much on movement, getting along with people of all ages. good point!!!

  • I'm sure that this audition and everything is probably over by now...but I auditioned for the scarecrow with "I was born on the Day before yesterday" from "The Wiz" and got it soooooo.....yeah.

  • ahaha, i go to St Pete Catholic!

  • There are some really fantastic moments in this. Sincerely. Much more sophisticated than a high school performance. Watch at the beginning and very end not to go too "stereotypically" musical theatre with your gestures, because when you give way to the character (the ENTIRE middle section, and the spoken sections at the beginning) it's absolute golden. You definitely have a future in this!!

  • this is so good :)

  • This is the best one on youtube tho.

  • I saw this Last night. The guy who sang it....he gave me chil;ls.

  • lol i went to that last night but that song was better there

  • this is so awsome his funnY!!

  • This is amazing

  • i swear i think i heard my mom laughing during that... we went once and my mom has this highly distinguishable and loud laugh that i swear i heard.

lol good song though i love the show!

  • I was the only girl to do a pantamime to this, and it's my fave number in the show!

  • i'd love to do this song someday. i am a girl though but i have short hair but i think a girl could do this song, i don't think it'd be weird or anything.

    what do you guys think?

  • I don't see anything wrong with it. I just wish guys could sing girls songs.

  • me TOO!

  • naw it'd be kinda fun for a girl to do it

BUT you'd have to be able to do the finger-puppet voice.

  • actually, at my arts camp we r doing the bee and my friends and i call ourselves the tranny versions of the characters. I'm Panch, but a girl. My friend is Barfee, but a girl. My other friend is olive, but a boy. crazy, right!

  • the guy going on tour with this show came to my school and was going to sing this song for us

  • Voice is pretty good. But if you're primarily a singer, you need to pick songs that will show your voice....not your acting. This is one of those songs that even if you're the best singer in the world, it'll suck really hard if you don't get the character.

  • its called being a thespian. and if you had sung the song before with a showcase, you would know it is a hard song to sing if you dont have a wide range.

  • You definately missed my point completely. I said "Voice is pretty good". I was referring to this person's acting

  • i got that, i think its cute. i dont like it when people stick to orignal blocking.

  • my friend sang this at our broadway show

this is really good and not singing over the top like some great job!

  • you did good accept for that last note!

  • YOU ARE GREAT i love your voice

  • I like how you don't totally exaggerate the kidness in him by throwing character out the window. A lot of people go too far, but this was way more realistic than any of the cheesy people out there. Good job!

  • jordan is awesome!

  • I go to that school. It's not a religious school, the name of the city is just St. Petersburg, for those of you who don't know!

  • This is amazing! I can't wait to see him on Broadway! :D Awesome comedic timing, and a great voice!

And especially cool because he's representing St. Pete! :D

  • i doubt its because its a religious school, b/c he says hell

  • i know what school that is. thats just the name of the city, but the school isn't paticularly religious.

  • where did the DUMB KID! thing go?

  • it is st petersburg high school,I'd guess it's a religious school, maybe they made them take it out?

  • The show was put together in like two days and there just wasn't enough rehearsal time to coagulate a group of people to do it/get a sound cue. So, I "heard it in my head".

  • "I saw this light, and it was neat."

    So funny!

  • SUPERIOR!

    :D

  • Really impressive! I love this song! Your timing was really good (loved the 'like my hair' part. good job!). Keep up the great work!

  • GREAT comic timing and a great song. I haven't heard much of this musical but I'm looking more into it, and it seems to be brilliant.

    Again, great work here.

  • What... what a nice voice. <3

  • Fabulous!

  • hehe, I really like right after the la la la's and deedle whatevers and then you realize you were in your own little world and get all embarrassed. It's pretty fun.

    Well done.

  • I find this version verrrrry good. :) great job! you have an amazing voice, by the way

  • YOUR A REALLY GOOD ACTOR! the end was a little blah but you pulled it off.

  • i like the way you did the "i like my hair" bit. i thought that was the funniest of all the renditions of this song on youtube. maybe it was just the way the audience reacted. well done, and you really are cute! squee!

  • Dude. You belong on Broadway someday. That was great! It was a little shaky at the end, but I think that as you get older that will go away. Very nice to listen to!

  • good acting...work on that last note. Most of the singing was done really well.

  • ahhh, marry me?!

i just saw the show on broadway yesterday.

    this was actually better!!

  • OMG i know him!

  • iv seen the bee twice, hes good. no barrett but good.

  • I'm not trying to be Barrett! :'(

  • I'm not trying to be Barrett... :'( I'm just tryin to sing my song and entertain my good friends, the audience.

  • then he's pretty good if he can copy BROADWAY

  • Haha that is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. He's got a great voice, but there was no inflection and no originality in the blocking. If he worked it over, it'd have potential though.

  • oh yea, well you're just STUPID! just kidding :D but if you can copy broadway you have potential, for sure. you just need to learn how to use that talent.

  • I'm sorry, I fail to see how I copied if the only time I saw it performed was after this show..

  • Apparently Barrett Foa's broadway voice coach thinks he has potential...she picked this song for Jordan and taught it to him! SDizzle24, Your performance at districts was far below this standard, sorry. You weren't even in time with the music! Liked your last note, though..keep trying.

  • these people must have not seen the show. its a direct copy.

  • This is Jordan. I've never seen the show live.

  • Good job.

You are an amazing singer and actor.

    Keep it up!

  • Well, he needs to work on stepping away from the origonal brodway show, but I thought it was good.

And it wasn't an EXACT copy.

    I liked it.

    It was funny.

    Good job!

    ^.^

  • great. he's funny!
