The cartoonigraphic skull and bones is a recognizable image. (mass appeal) Kaws paints with no brush strokes...clean and unobtrusive. The trick is he found a style that works on canvas....since canvas is a smaller scale than painting a wall....it's hard to achieve that look in spray paint. His graffiti pieces were average(no big deal) there's tons of (graf) artists who have can control....but not many can translate a style on canvas that clean.
he isnt that creative .his work is fairly boaring and his graffiti was never any good .the guy jumped into the deep end to fast. "he connects with this generation and the younger ones" fuckin worthless. its been done. the only reason for his name is because he liked the letter forms . The buss stops and billboard work rocked for months on in.He intergrated his work with mainstream media witch his what graffiti was based from.Getting back at system for putting bullshit marketing in your face day in day out. An oxymoron let's say.The Bad in with the Good.You should look up to graff artist that can get the mainstream to appreciate their work. He put in work for years and without knowing, marketed him self in a beautiful way.Sucka please
