when you uses these srtings for B Standard, don´t you have problems with the higher 3 strings, which are regular size and are normally not used for such a low tuning ?
such heavy lower strings and regular higher strings sets are used normally for Drop tunings.
I'm honestly wondering if this would work with a Laney LV300H? (Similar to Valvestate Technology) Cause I have an MIJ HM-2 from 1984, it works great on my Marshall Valvestate 8080, just asking ;)
great sound ! what string size did you use for such a low tuning ? ( B Standard ?)
did you have to adjust the neck or anything else on the guitar ? ( the scale is 24,75 , like on a Les Paul, quite short, could cause some problems with strong strings )
@MurphyJ83 Hi there, glad you enjoyed the video. the string gauges i use are..
-Dovetail bottom Heavy Regulars (10, 13, 17, 30w, 42w, 52w)
No adjustments were needed to the neck as I was using Baritone tuning ( B standard) which gives alot of elasticity to the string. If it was in E concert with these strings then you'd have a problem.Plus, having a fixed bridge makes thongs much easier to work with as tremelo systems (especially floating trems) can be a nightmare with this set up,
I finally found one of those pedals \m/ It costed me over 1200 SEK (swedish money) but it was definitely worth it. But it's not so easy to get a good tone with a shitty Line-6 amp.
@swedisheinherjer 1200 sek are too much. Once I found one on ebay at about 40 € (350 sek I guess) but when I decided to buy it was too late. Fan också! :-D
@BenPigIron Well, the Peavy amps, the Ibanez x-series guitars and Sunlight studios' Tomas Skogsberg had something to do with it also! And how they played ofcourse! It's all out there to read so I don't see why people keep on wondering about it!?
@Tombking2 Well, the Peavy amps, the Ibanez x-series guitars and Sunlight studios' Tomas Skogsberg had something to do with it also! And how they played ofcourse! It's all out there to read so I don't see why people keep on wondering about it!?
@henkeH2 Not as easily as with the HM-2 (due to the EQ being incredibly sensitive). I guarantee you, once you've tried it, you won't look back. Support/use/buy an HM-2 when poss. Keep on rocking and stay inspired.
@SepticRemains Thanks for the support :). I use the Cort guitars due to my endorsement and like to pro their guitars were possible. But yup, a Gibson would have been very authentic. Keep it 11!!
@Tombking2 In the early days I do believe they were useing Ibanez Destroyers with active EMGs through a Peavey 50 watt amp. But on tour and of recent they're seen using Gibson guitars. I'm up for debate :).
Absolutely great job.I love the Entombed. When I even saw you have a video on John Christ I subscribed before even seeing it!Keep up the good work and thank you for the videos! The Boss HM-2 t-shirt is beyond cool : )
@santaist At the last rotten Sound gig in london. If you type in "HM-2 T Shirt" into google you should find some links. Be warned that the shipping from some countries can be quite pricey. Hope this helps.
Probably worth mentioning that Unleashed was started by the only guy who didn't make it over from Nihilist to Entombed-Johnny Hedlund. Also, another band to add to the tribute act list is Winterwolf from Finland, who have Antti Boman of Demilich as a guitarist and backing vocalist!
@TheBattleSCAR The guitar is a Cort EVL-Z6. Its actually off the market now (ironically), but there should be some still available. It was my first Cort guitar i've used and I love it.
A good idea is to turn the gain to around minimum+1 if you're going out to play live or practive with your band :) it still sounds the same, due to the amps sheer roar.
Faved.Great work bro! I love the Requiem Metal Podcast, I learn so much from listening to Mark and Jason. Thanks for the name drop at the end too man. \mm/

It's possible but time consuming depending on the temperoment of your guitar. you might need to check your internation but thats about it.
I hope these pointers helped and excuse the delay in responding to your question.
Keep rocking and stay inspired,

Sorry, but to be honest the Hm-2 wasnt even the primary source of their sound,it might sound "Swedish death metal" but not like Entombed
