  • Hi,

when you uses these srtings for B Standard, don´t you have problems with the higher 3 strings, which are regular size and are normally not used for such a low tuning ?

such heavy lower strings and regular higher strings sets are used normally for Drop tunings.

    Thnanks !!!

  • I'm honestly wondering if this would work with a Laney LV300H? (Similar to Valvestate Technology) Cause I have an MIJ HM-2 from 1984, it works great on my Marshall Valvestate 8080, just asking ;)

  • Excellent video. Nice job, sir! \m/ \m/

  • great sound ! what string size did you use for such a low tuning ? ( B Standard ?)

did you have to adjust the neck or anything else on the guitar ? ( the scale is 24,75 , like on a Les Paul, quite short, could cause some problems with strong strings )

  • @MurphyJ83 Hi there, glad you enjoyed the video. the string gauges i use are..

    -Dovetail bottom Heavy Regulars (10, 13, 17, 30w, 42w, 52w)

No adjustments were needed to the neck as I was using Baritone tuning ( B standard) which gives alot of elasticity to the string. If it was in E concert with these strings then you'd have a problem.Plus, having a fixed bridge makes thongs much easier to work with as tremelo systems (especially floating trems) can be a nightmare with this set up,

  • It's possible but time consuming depending on the temperoment of your guitar. you might need to check your internation but thats about it.

I hope these pointers helped and excuse the delay in responding to your question.

    Keep rocking and stay inspired,

    Ben \m/

  • I love this video! Big props from another ravenous HM-2 user and huge SDM fan!

  • nice sound with that I had this pedal but never knew about that setting.

In one interview entombed said they used the rat pedal too by proco I think.

  • I finally found one of those pedals \m/ It costed me over 1200 SEK (swedish money) but it was definitely worth it. But it's not so easy to get a good tone with a shitty Line-6 amp.

  • @swedisheinherjer 1200 sek are too much. Once I found one on ebay at about 40 € (350 sek I guess) but when I decided to buy it was too late. Fan också! :-D

  • Sorry, but to be honest the Hm-2 wasnt even the primary source of their sound,it might sound "Swedish death metal" but not like Entombed

  • @Tombking2 Don't be sorry, it's your opinion and i'm open for debate. Keep it metal :).

    Ben \m/

  • @BenPigIron I forgot to give you my complements on your playing, well done!!

  • @Tombking2 Well, the Peavy amps, the Ibanez x-series guitars and Sunlight studios' Tomas Skogsberg had something to do with it also! And how they played ofcourse! It's all out there to read so I don't see why people keep on wondering about it!?

  • love the videos and your enthusiasm for the HM-2 !

  • @Sandman2k10 Thank you sir, i do my best. New vidoes on the way very soo. keep rocking and stay tunes.

    Ben \m/

  • Would the Boss Metal Zone also be able to do Entombed sound?

  • @henkeH2 Not as easily as with the HM-2 (due to the EQ being incredibly sensitive). I guarantee you, once you've tried it, you won't look back. Support/use/buy an HM-2 when poss. Keep on rocking and stay inspired.

    Ben \m/

  • Check out my vid. I play the pink Behringer copy of the Boss .

  • great video ben, 17 minutes of full bliss haha

  • @RAGEPALMER92 and 23 seconds!;) Glad you liked it Hugh.

  • Subbed, liked & favved. The only bad thing was that you did not play with a Gibson.

  • @SepticRemains Thanks for the support :). I use the Cort guitars due to my endorsement and like to pro their guitars were possible. But yup, a Gibson would have been very authentic. Keep it 11!!

    Ben \m/

  • @SepticRemains Lol not even Dismember or entombed used a gibson when they recorded hteir albums

  • @Tombking2 In the early days I do believe they were useing Ibanez Destroyers with active EMGs through a Peavey 50 watt amp. But on tour and of recent they're seen using Gibson guitars. I'm up for debate :).

  • Absolutely great job.I love the Entombed. When I even saw you have a video on John Christ I subscribed before even seeing it!Keep up the good work and thank you for the videos! The Boss HM-2 t-shirt is beyond cool : )

  • @tsutu50 Thank you for your kind comments, i'll do my best.:)

    keep rocking and stay inspired,

    Ben \m/

  • i've got the pedal and the tone... but i have'nt got the t shirt!!! haha, where did you get it dude?

  • @santaist At the last rotten Sound gig in london. If you type in "HM-2 T Shirt" into google you should find some links. Be warned that the shipping from some countries can be quite pricey. Hope this helps.

    All the best,

    Ben \m/

  • Hey, this is Neil from the band FATALIST. Thanks for mentioning us in your video. Take care...Neil

  • @fatalistband No problem Neil, Keep on riffing and stay inspired.

  • Probably worth mentioning that Unleashed was started by the only guy who didn't make it over from Nihilist to Entombed-Johnny Hedlund. Also, another band to add to the tribute act list is Winterwolf from Finland, who have Antti Boman of Demilich as a guitarist and backing vocalist!

  • @Geshmaal Good call, always worth a mention in this fred. \m/

  • Good job man! Nice to see those Emtobed Riffs! I have a taiwanese one, with all to eleven of course!! :)

  • What guitar is that? I played one very similar a while ago and liked it, but I forgot the name.

  • @TheBattleSCAR The guitar is a Cort EVL-Z6. Its actually off the market now (ironically), but there should be some still available. It was my first Cort guitar i've used and I love it.

  • @BenPigIron Thanks man.

  • A good idea is to turn the gain to around minimum+1 if you're going out to play live or practive with your band :) it still sounds the same, due to the amps sheer roar.

  • @Madsakre Good call! :)

  • Faved.Great work bro! I love the Requiem Metal Podcast, I learn so much from listening to Mark and Jason. Thanks for the name drop at the end too man. \mm/

  • @JGCSOUND No problem Jason. Keep up the good work and i'll do the same.

  • Hm-2 is the boss.

  • @Freddekaddeth It very much is! Turn it up to 11!!\m/

  • I really want that pedal. Requiem podcast kicks ass too! \m/

  • @hungrysparrow The podcast is a bit good. Well worth subscribing if you can.

  • that pedal sounds awesome!!

  • @musicdude201 I told you :)
