@John1948EightB If I remember correctly, Linda and Bobby Kimmel came to Los Angeles together from Tuscon and met Kenny Edwards, who grew up in Santa Monica, and the three collaborated to form the Stone Poneys.

@martel732 Ahem, dont know about Bobby Kimmel.....but the late Kenny Edwards was anything but a untalented hack....played bass on most of her hits, and sang backing vocals on most of them as well....His voice blended beautifully with hers, as evidenced here, and if you read Ms. Ronstadt's tribute to him after his passing, you would realize he was not "a untalented hack"......

Linda Ronstadt is BAR NONE the finest interpreter of songs EVER in the history of recording artists using that unmistakably awesome voice of hers and applying it to ANY GENRE of music....she has no problem taking someone else's song, adding her own flavor and spicing it up to produce a hit record, be it rock, country, easy listening, mariachi, contemporary classics, or pop - SHE'S THE BOMB! Notice the striking resemblance of her (early photos) with another rising pop sensation - Selena Gomez.

Best singer EVER! Thanks for sharing this....I've said before that they need to clone Linda! God, I miss concerts w/o theatrics, dancers, pyro, and singers hanging from the ceiling upside down and flipping around. SINGERS were IN CONCERT b/c they were GOOD! Bring back the 70's!
