  • Unless I don't quite understand it, this seems to me like a terrible idea and classic 'feature creep.' I don't use a search engine to find stuff I already know about. I use it to find stuff I don't know a.k.a. what other people know. The stuff I want at the top is the stuff I have yet to discover.

  • Gnu HIN

  • I like the cartoons in the video!

  • Personalized search makes everything easier.

  • lol turn on transcribe audio.

    Obama was searching for recipes

this person was a she can also be helpful with searches like socks

    and more XD

  • The simpering calm voice of creeping corporate personal observation panels telling you can always "opt out opt out opt out" yeah.

Your words are set forth to quickly snuff our children's ability to think coherently. Take them back now. Apologize. Walk with a mark on your forehead for the evil you attempted to sell us.

You have given up your humanity and you want us to do the same. You have power and you will never have respect.

  • Can i search for naked pictures of the blond guy?

  • balls.show us the real two fellows.angry nerd with no interests but counting money and surfer dude with control freak thought policeman traits.

  • Why is it that when I click to watch these videos. The thumbnail of the presenters, I'll immediately know that they are going to be snared at in the comment section.

  • lol. Dude on the left looks like a geek, and dude on the right looks like a carefree, relaxed dude. I like google's employee base

  • OMG tyreeq is a cyborg. Destroy it!

  • What does this mean for SEO now? Is SEO Dead? What's the point anymore? Google enables this feature off the bat, so unless you know about it, you're using it unless you deactivate it and most people won't even know it's there. Companies have spent thousands to rank better, now it seems unless you were at the top of the searches before, now it may be next to impossible to get found or am I missing something?

  • SEO is a race to the bottom anyway; everybody is doing it so it will become increasingly difficult to get results.

  • ich fände es richtig schön wen mich jemand vor dem allein sein erlöst , grade langweile pur

  • Nerd meet Surfer Dude. Google still makes money on their AdWords even-though most web-users have begun to block-out the right column from their view.

  • These two guys look like PC v.s MAC commercial.

  • @johnnylin0924 yea but here PC and Mac make peace lol.

  • Owen Wilson cover?!

  • Would this be considered the death of SEO? The SEO guys are shaking in their boots. If they can't tell where they and their current clients are ranking how can they tell their new clients they will rank well for their services?

  • I hated this and logged out of Google mail intentional, because it messed with my searching too much.. I don't want Google to show me what I've already seen.. It seemed to take away from the overall search experience, due to showing the same websites over and over.. If that was the only website I wanted to see, I would go directly to that website, not by a search. How are you supposed to find fresh content, if the same sites are served? Bing will get my traffic if Google goes this route.

  • They don't know what their talking about...

    j/k

  • Cool

  • Let' try that out

  • The Blonde is hot XD

  • don't you have to be logged into gmail for this?

  • why

  • WOW! google promises caffeine wouldn't be launched till after the holidays so webmasters and websites wouldn't have to worry about their ranksings and this totally screws up most of my sites i work on. how is the normal person doing a search really going to realize what they are seeing and turn it off, they are just going to click and go on.

    Thanks

  • interesting, how badly will this destroy our SEO efforts?

  • lol @ mustache

  • Where is the left side of his mustache?

  • lol thats because of the lights.

  • Google it

  • Comment removed

  • BIG BROTHER OMG

  • there still is thing called 'privacy' !

  • funny geeks those two lol

  • rule nr1. Never trust a Ginger :D.. or google or whatever

  • that's why google will be always better then yahoo / i mean for searching the web

  • Cool

  • that sucks

  • inb4 big brother

  • I hate that you record the history withouth being signed in!!!!!

  • I Love you Google.....Brazil!!

  • Brain Limiting Feature. It's like with the word-hints. Very handy but limiting our vocabulary and creativity. Instead of promoting variety soon everyone will just know blue, red and green. This another 'improvement' will promote well known brands, singers, songs, actors, scientists, events etc.

HOW YOU ARE GOING TO PROMOTE NEW TELENTS, IDEAS, ARTISTS and PRODUCTS? Well, what for! We've got Madonna and MJ and should be happy. Google is becoming a typical commercial radio station.

  • Unfortunately, the video doesn't mention this: "To include the web pages you visit in your web history, you need to install Toolbar with PageRank enabled. PageRank will send information about these pages to Google and associate it with your Google Account." :x

  • google lol i luv saying that name

  • I hope that search personalization doesn't give people a false impression of what's being said online.

If a racist skinhead searches for racist skinhead stuff all day, are Google searches going to begin to make him think that his views are mainstream and that everyone in the world agrees with him?

Google should make sure that it's always easy for people to switch back and forth between personalized and non-personalized searches so they can see and understand the difference.

  • why did the guy with the glasses shave his moustache only on one side??

    looks weird

  • Decision to enable personalized search for not logged in users was worst decision this company has made. No more google for me.

  • You afraid someone is going to find out you have been searching for grandma porn?

They did say an ANONYMOUS cookie. If you are that tin foil hat paranoid, you might want to move to a cabin in the woods and go feral. Face it, in this modern and connected world people know a LOT more about you than you may want. There are benefits and consequences for that.

  • :))=))

  • If you were smart you'd simply turn off their ability to monitor. Just like THEY ACTUALLY TOLD YOU HOW IN THE VIDEO. Or you could search with cookies disabled, such as with Chrome's "incognito" function.

I wish Google would finally learn how to hide ignorant comments from YouTube pages.

  • Problem is, most web users aren't 'smart' enough to know they have personalized search enabled, never mind know how to turn it off. Also, it turns itself back on when cookies are deleted. But thanks for the insight.

  • @Monchanger True that ;)

  • Google boys are hawt!

  • Give me some money please??

You both are sooo rich.. i am poor =(

  • this sounds cool, but is somehow scary if google know everything about me...

  • who is avidbiker80?

    :)

  • google is the best

  • awsome

  • I would like to see google weed out these malicious content websites..you know those like that attack with that antivirus system pro bs program.

That would be great..then we could all surf with confidence..not fear of the next site we open..that would be what I call "personal"

  • oh well time to change the search engine. Full User Control they call as "friendly help". Unsubscribed. Since google earth there's nothing useful!

  • robby bryant is hot...

  • this has been going on for a while , why google found a need to talk about it NOW?

  • for once, i think this is a terrible idea from Google

  • it's called tracking cookies. whoop dee doo.

  • This personalization is interesting but I have never heard of it being more than marginally helpful.

  • Obama was searching for recipes

  • to avoid inflation by printing money

  • cool :) I love google. <3

  • This is a crazy change for Google. Not sure what to think yet!

  • Double-edged sword. You'll find your answers in first page or after hundred pages. Good ideal but dangerous. Also, don't put it as default, privacy first...

btw, google video without captions?????? how you did it???

  • WHERE'S THE CAPTIONS????

  • avidbiker80?

    Guy with the glasses rocks.

  • But sa,y on the contrary, I want different resulyts every time I search the same thing, then what? It can happen in the case where you are searching for something specific, and you dont want to spend your time again on the pages you have already seen. Its important. PLease work on it and let me know if you come out with this.

  • Do you have brain damage?

  • Why? Why do you think a Good minded person wont ever talk to you?

  • Three times a day with a sprig of parsley.

  • love google.

  • This really seems like a poor idea for the situations of public and shared computers, not everyone is so informed as how these things work.

There are people like us who are interested in Google and web technology, and then there are people I and most of us work with who will NEVER know about this. They do not care. Yet their web history will encroach on the results of eachother.

Seems like this is a bad idea when signed out.

  • Did you not even watch the video? :P

  • That's not good, so every time I search for something, I'll get boobs.

  • Google WINS!!!!!

  • hmm sounds pretty redundant to me since i search for random stuff

  • I wonder if I do a search of "partially clad Google engineer Robby Bryant" I hope I would find something. What a hotboi he is. Yum!

  • creepy.

  • o.m.g. bryan horling is Hawt. lol

  • Robby is hawt. lol

  • google copying bing much?

  • cool

  • Robby Bryant is cute as hell X_X

  • The best way to make changes is allowing the option to not participate. Good job! You must be listening!

  • nice ya man :)

  • It good, and kind of creepy, and their OS isn't that great, it relies to much on the internet.

  • Google is the future. Lol

Later in the future i bet there will be a google bank that has google credit cards and debit cards. Go out into the street and ask anyone if they know what google is and the'll have at least heard of it.

  • EVER HEARD OF PRIVACY?!

  • Yeah, it's what I do on weekends. Getting all yo ho ho nd shit..

  • just opt out man, watch the video once again

  • You are never forced to use these free services..

  • Privacy is what people like you cannot afford.

  • This means also that if you did not find what you where looking for by clicking on the search result that Google rank this irrelevant stuff higher the next time you're looking for it?

    Do I miss anything here?

  • Nick work People, CommS007, there only watching you when you give them your Mac address that your ISP gives to all the page's you go on, So, if you think about it, you can not be NOT watched,

  • True =D

It's nifty to have more relevant personalized results, so that you do not need to search too long. And only recently I need more info on Sarbanes Oxley act. (studies)

But Google might dominate "everything" in the far future and is really "watching" you by then? Maybe =D I need more nicknames and secrecy =D

  • That's not your MAC it's your IP.

  • You all just wait for a year, by then Google will probably Own the whole internet, i mean look at their features.. good luck Google

  • im wondering what else we can do to enhance this feature ?

  • Why the hell does that guy have half a mustache?

  • omg. hahahahaha. reading your comment made me litrally rofl irl!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Seriously, have you even watched this video?

  • stalkers!!

    (O___O)

  • SCARY, BUT GOOD

  • oppissites in the beginning

  • Google is watching you ( O__O)

  • so is the gov't... and all the online ad companies, you must have known this already...

  • Yeah =D

Now where is my tinfoil hat >.>

  • Umm, you should google "verizon, yahoo" in relation to this. Verizon is attempting to block it's spy pricing sheet for the US Gov't because it fears it would shock customers and harm their reputation... telecom companies make money every way they can, and selling their customers to the gov't is a high-ticket item. I'll send you a direct link to their legally filed objection document...
