Really? Why does it route to an air box instead of directly into the intake like a true shaker hood does? Check out the engine bay junior where it coils into the AIR BOX and not directly into the intake.

You're wrong about the LS ram air by the away my '99 SS air flow goes from hood scoop to air box and to the throttle body (there's an engine bay shot in my videos). It's all one direct path. The LT1 Z28/Trans Am had the elbow from an air box into the throttle body but the '96 SS and Firehawk/WS6 have the same ram air set up as my car.

Agreed. My friend has a '99 T/A LS1 6 speed with SLP lid, tune, LT headers, full exhaust with no cats and it hauls. My bolt-on '82 Mustang 5.0 can kinda hang till about 70 mph then he walks. And i've beaten the new Eclipse GTs.
