Mach 1's put down more power while driving than on the dyno.. simply because of the shaker hood,, its not getting any air on the dyno but on the freeway MORE AIR=MORE POWER!!!

Really? Why does it route to an air box instead of directly into the intake like a true shaker hood does? Check out the engine bay junior where it coils into the AIR BOX and not directly into the intake.

Read up my friend, Ford literature states it's partially functional.

If it was a fully functioning shaker hood it would ram air directly into the air box and then through the throttle body into the intake manifold but it doesn't. Instead it away to an air box and then finally finds the throttle body.

Thats no valid point and just because of its design doesnt give you any right to call it a fake system. The system was redesigned to work on modern day intake systems. In my words it's not fully functional, I take back where I said it was "cosmetic only." A true shaker hood drives air DIRECTLY in to the throttle body via the air box, not indirectly. Everywhere official where the "shaker" hood on the Mach 1 is described there are quotations around "shaker" which indicates it is a throw back to the original but not a true shaker hood.

You can stomp your feet all you want as a Mach 1 owner but that doesn't make you right either.

@thetravdawg You make no sense, the air goes directly to the air box it just driving you crazy that the air makes a u-turn and down to a modern air box, bottom line is that it goes directly there and not for some other auxiliary purpose, it just feeds the intake. Quit being a soreass about the subject, some LS motors have ram air you dont see me saying its a fake ram air just because in midway thru the hood and makes a u-turn and then into the air box, thats the way GM designed it and thats it.

You're wrong about the LS ram air by the away my '99 SS air flow goes from hood scoop to air box and to the throttle body (there's an engine bay shot in my videos). It's all one direct path. The LT1 Z28/Trans Am had the elbow from an air box into the throttle body but the '96 SS and Firehawk/WS6 have the same ram air set up as my car.

Dont BS me about LS1, I've seen plenty of ls1 motors to know how it works, the ram air inlet on your car is half way up your hood yet your intake filter is up front on top of the radiator, how exactly do you thing the air flow makes it to the filter without changing direction? My buddys LS1 GTO with an LS2 hood with ram air works the same way, air has to turn forward to make it to the filter

2003-2004 Mach 1 is underrated at 305 HP..

But it can actually pump to 320HP stock..

03s were rated at 305 and 04s were rated at 310, but yes they do put down closer to 320.

Agreed. My friend has a '99 T/A LS1 6 speed with SLP lid, tune, LT headers, full exhaust with no cats and it hauls. My bolt-on '82 Mustang 5.0 can kinda hang till about 70 mph then he walks. And i've beaten the new Eclipse GTs.
