  • Although I wish this video had included a some of the video scenes from the 1960's (especially 1960 - 1966, which is & was available here on youtube) & also some video from the late-1960's to 1975 (which there is a little available of that here on youtube, although a little more from other sources) & the theme from the time period, 1971 - 75 (again, available on youtube) & also a bit more of Bert from the late-1970's -- this is still much better than we got at GL's final Emmy's for the salute.

Grazie

  • One great theme song after another. I loved them all!

  • Wow, this is incredible. I'm so glad that I found it. Can you do this for As The World Turns, Another World, Search for Tomorrow and Edge of Night. Then we will have beautiful packages of all P&G soaps that we have lost. Brava!

  • OMG...this has to be the best tribute ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I only found it cause i was looking for the full version of the my guiding light theme from the 80"s but not taken from the show. The 70's theme bought tears to my eyes..I would love the full version of it.

  • Very, very nice! Job well done!

  • Bellissimo video!quanti personaggi ke non avevo mai visto!Complimenti!

  • is it crystal chappell at 6:49??

  • You did an excellent job on this! Probably the best I have seen.

  • This is simply brilliant. Runs precisely from my earliest GL memories to the end. So much better than anything 'official' that we saw...and a testament to the hard work necessary. Thank you very much.

  • This had me on the edge of my seat the whole time! Thank you for such a complete look back! AMAZING!!! Thank you!

  • This was by far the BEST Guiding tribute I've seen! Loved the various themes in the background. And, you included...it seems...EVERY past and present cast member! Good job!

  • Phenominal job. I started with the show in the 70s and it was such a treat to have this retrospective. Thank you!

  • Thank you very much!!

  • Bellissimo ! Quanti ricordi...

  • SPLENDIDO!..è stato come un viaggio nel tempo..possiedi un autentico talento..

  • Ti rinrgazio, sei molto gentile!

Avete fatto un grande lavoro di montaggio e di esecuzione musicale.

...un pezzo della nostra vita che se ne va...

A tutti gli amici di SOL, il mio più caro abbraccio.

  • Great Tribute!!

  • A lot better montage tribute then we ever got in the states (on any Emmy telecast). More what we should have gotten.

So, on that level thank you so much.

I could only fault in 2 ways w/ this montage:

I'm surprised that there isn't any TGL from the 1960's (before color). Certainly there have been plenty vids from then. & there is a little from before the Ritournelle (late 1970's) on vid. (I know I've seen Sara & Joe Werner scenes, Ed being shot by Ken Norris &

  • Mike Bauer confronting Professor Alex McDaniels who was sleeping w/ Hope back in 1975).

I also kind of wish for more from both the Ritournelle & LaBont Disco era (despite how short of time period it was). I guess I could have seen this great tribute turning into an exceptional tribute lasting the near maximum limit of vids on youtube to 10 minutes.

  • I'd like to see those scenes with Ken and Ed and some of the others. I liked this salute and it is far better than the way it was "saluted" on the Emmy broadcast. I saw the tribute clip and it was like whoever was in charge recycled clips from the 1992 Prime-time anniversary and re-shown them instead of putting any time into it. I'm hoping a magazine or a book of some sort will come along to chronicle the show from beginning to end. I have the 60th anniversary book from 1997, though.

  • I just hope that the new book IS NOT written by Julie Poll. Poll didn't know all of the history of the storylines of the show. Poll left a lot out about the radio stories, left several things out of stories from the 1970's & early 1980's and nearly left out the whole year of 1995 in the story.

  • The only problems I had with the 1997 book was that it wasn't too detailed about a lot of the story lines in the mid 1980's. When Alan, for example, escaped into the San Rios jungle in 1984 the book simply said that Alan escaped to the jungles of San Rios to avoid arrest by the FBI. It never mentioned Jim and Fletcher left him stranded there while they flew back to Springfield with Hillary. I didn't know that until seeing the clip here on You Tube.

  • amazing

  • Awesome

  • Have mercy -- that was awesome. From :16 to 2:08 was GL's best years. I just adored Elizabeth Spaulding (Leslie Dalton) and Jackie Marler (Cindy Pickett) as well as many others through these years. It was a time in this show like no other and that magic never re-appeared even until the 2009 end.

  • I am speechless. That was amazing & beautiful. Thank You!

  • OMG! You made me cry! I love this video.

  • Wow! My head is flooded with memories right now. That was a true labor of love. Beautifully done! My brain is still trying to play catch up. I think I'll watch it again and pause it every so often, just to let the memory last. . . . ALWAYS! Thank you!!

  • wow so wonderful. see u on soapcentral LOL

  • WOW! This was a great video. While it brought tears to my eyes, it also brought back so many memories of our GL. Thank you so much for this video. Please make us more when you have time. It is like going back in time with GL.

  • Thank you!! I'll try to make some new video montages when I will have some spare time and the right inspiration :)

  • WOW! Loved how you sectioned off the clips with the different themes the show had. Simply amazing! Must have taken forever to make!

  • Thank you. It tooks a lot of time but I am happy of the final work. I know your works and you are fantastic and you make stunning montages!

So thank you, I am happy you like it!

  • Squee! Aubrey Dollar as Marina. But Alan/Olivia gives me the heebie jeebies and young Frank is just weird.

Great tribute, although the 4-way split screen makes my head hurt, trying to catch everything.

  • That was beautiful ::::sigh:::: miss GL

  • WOW. What an amazing tribute!!! The best I've seen so far
