"Isn't Zoe supposed to be a kid like Elmo and Big Bird?"
Yes, but they STAY kids FOREVER, unlike their performers. In fact, it is because their performers are older & their fans are also older that they're able to improv like this off-set, because sadly, the format of the Street seemingly changed once Jim & Richard died and Elmo became the cash cow Muppet for the show.
It's almost surreal seeing Gonzo from the Muppets and Elmo from Sesame Street together. Muppets being known for its sarcastic and entertaining humor and Sesame Street being known for kid-family, educational entertainment.
When I say Kermit's the only one who usually got to spend time on Sesame Street, meant to say that he's the only Muppet Show character that is usually seen on Sesame Street.
I'm surprised to see Gonzo interacting with Sesame Street characters. Kermit was usually the only one who really spent time with his Sesame Street friends on and off the show. Thanks for posting this!
P.S. I'm so jealous that you were there, LOL! Also, Gonzo's my favorite muppet.
I find it frustrating that Muppet Improv is more like the Henson days Muppets... Clever and way more natural... than the way the Muppets appear in these terrible movies, writen by people who dont know what makes them funny or special.. In those Disney teeny Specials DC? something... the lines writen for Gonzo were so stupid! Here Gonzo is pure weirdo genius....
Not to mention how Elmo lets loose freely in appearances outside of Sesame Street, like how snarky the Sesame Muppets used to be. Guess they want to set a good example by controlling tempers and "playing nice" on the show. Mm, kids these days, whatcha gonna do =/
I got to see Fran Brill in June at the Center for Pupppetry Arts. She talked about her carer as a Muppetear and showed clips of her work. And I got to take a picture with her and Zoe! Also, Elmo needs more respict. Sure, he gets on your nerves, but that's because he's on a kids show. In places like this, he's able to let losse and not worry about what Sesame Workshop wants.
That was great,10 out of 10! Gonzo asking Elmo for Zoe's phone number,Zoe talking about how Telly and Baby Bear crashed her car in a joyride, great Muppet humor all around. Wish other Muppets like Pepe,Telly, and maybe even Oscar were there.
My parents took me to Sesame Place Play Park in Langhorne, Pa. when I was only 6 years old back in the year 1984. It was the first time that I ever went on a water slide!
It was located in Long Island NY. No I was busy that day. I was there on the last day, and I get to meet Craig Shemin, and asked him a couple of ?'s. I was soo lucky!
Elmo & Gonzo interaction = Hilarious!

Gonzo rocks, but I don't want him hooking up with Zoe for 2 reasons.
1.) Camilla will forever be his girl (even though it's been forever since we've seen him with her aside from the cameos in Muppets Wizard of Oz...)
and 2.) Isn't Zoe supposed to be a kid like Elmo and Big Bird? I've always thought of Gonzo as being in his 30s...
Awesome vid though, thanks for posting!
