Hello I'm French then sorry for my language. I have some questions for you :
Do you use stabilisation software for the video on your computer ? I ask you this question because I want to buy a GAUI but i'm not sure : 330X or 500X.
It's for "professional" videos with a GoPro HD. Maybe, the speed of the gaui will be very slow for my video than i ask me if the 330X is good for this (or if the 500x is really needed).
@Mingain The 330X was a great quad trainer and although I used it for some AP work I would not recommend it for professional work. If all your going to use is a GoPro then you might want to check out the DJI-NAZA or the Witespy quad. I don't know anything about the Gaui 500. Good luck, doing AP with multirotors is a lot of fun.
@Av8Chuck Thank you for this quick answer ! I know the DJI NAZA. He seems to be very very good.Il will search in this way but maybe i will stay on a GAUI 330 (or 500 ?) with stock configuration for the beginning (because of not many knowledge in this domain). I hope it will give me a adequate quality of video. What mean "AP" ? Anything like "air shoot"
@Av8Chuck Thank you. I will use a 500 for the beginning with stock gyro. Maybe a better gyro for a next time when I will have better knowledge about RC.
Checked your VIMEO videos, very nice photography! I am impressed.
Quick question, How did you manage to record video with the GO PRO without overseeing the legs, blades and front orange balls in the video? . I have almost the same specs with a Hover Things 450 frame and I have not been able to correct that. Can you help a fellow Quad lover?
@pipemarin1980 Sure and thanks, glad you enjoyed them. I have a newer version of the Hoverthings 450 and have the legs set to what I think is the second widest setting which spreads the legs wide enough to be out of most shots but is high enough to accommodate Jakub's GoPro 2-axis mount.
@Av8Chuck When I shot the videos that I have posted on Vimeo I had a GoPro Hero 1 with a Sunex lens which has a narrower FOV to get rid of the fisheye so the legs and props were not an issue. I'm now using the Hero 2 with the stock lens and I've been experimenting with r5 which is 1920x1080 but you can select a narrower FOV which reduces the fisheye but increases the noise, they're just zooming in on the framing which we can do in post.
@Av8Chuck And r3 which is 1280x720P60, they also have a 1280x960 which records at 48 frames and gives you a larger FOV to pan up and down if your finishing in 720P which is nice.
You also need to pan down so the top edge of the image is just a little below the frame. Initially I put the ball in the back after a while I stopped using it but I don't fly much more than 50 yards away and a couple of hundred feet up to I can see the quad and camera well enough so I don't loose orientation.

Hi There,! Wow nice flying and video quality. Just purchased a 330 xs and will start video with my Go Pro. I see that you have modified the lens of the Go Pro Camera with a bigger lens, and there is NO distortion in the video quality like all the video from the Go PRO. Can you tell me what it is you did and how?
@fmarin78 The GoPro itself in this video is stock, I added a 37MM polarizer onto the camera case, this had the effect of slowing the shutter giving the video smoother, more realistic motion blur. Unfortunately there is fisheye in this video.
Here's a video using the Sunex lens on the GoPr so there is no fisheye, just remove the space between the . & com: vimeo. com/23570784.
@Av8Chuck Hey Chuck, thank you for your quick response, just checked out your videos in VIMEO with the Sunex lens and they are by far the BEST ones I have seen so far on a GAUI 330. Great editing and music too! Couple of questions and sorry for buggin. About that 37mm camera, it looks so sick on the GOPRO, What brand is it, and how do I mount it and were can i get it? Also, where can I get those landing skids? Thanks again! good flying! Take care
@SALESPRODUCTIONS Its a combination of off the shelf, Gaui 330X electronics and a custom built Vic20 frame. The Guai frame is 330MM [hence the name] and this frame is made out of G10 and is 420MM, so its lighter, stronger and more stable.
@Av8Chuck My DEAR FRIEND, SORRY. I SPEAK PORTUGUESE FROM BRAZIL, OK? I LOVED YOUR QUAD GOOD BLUE COLOR. THANKS FOR REPLAY. YOU MAY TRANSLATE WITH GOOGLE. BYE NOW, BIG HUG, EDUARDO.
@fizzyfoster Yes, in this video I have the battery mounted on top of the quad and just attached the GoPro directly to the bottom with the adhesive mount. I also attach it to the bottom with the tripod mount.
@ProRealEstatePhotos I purchased the Motor-sports kit for the GoPro which has various mounts, I used one with adhesive and stuck it directly to the bottom the 330X. I still need to build a better mount.
gerat, wowwwwwwwww... I am beginner on flying qaudcopter, I have bought gaui 330x but I have just one outdoor experience...

is there computer stabilization that you did with this our was it just that smooth alreday
bikerpersonkid 1 month ago
@bikerpersonkid It was that smooth, I didn't use any stabilization software or a camera Gimbal. The GoPro was mounted directly to the frame.
Av8Chuck 1 month ago
@Av8Chuck it looks like an ND or Polarizor filter on the GoPro. What exactly did you use and how is it mounted on the case?

can you make a tutorial for this ? (i subbed :D )

how fast will this thing go to capture shots of like dirtbikes or cars
BlankBrandon 2 months ago
@BlankBrandon It goes pretty fast but this quad really is more of a sport flyer and trainer than a serious AP platform.
Av8Chuck 2 months ago
what is that for a lense in front of the gopro?
StefanHegenberg 2 months ago
@StefanHegenberg it's a 37mm polarizer filter. I used it as a ND filter to slow the shutter speed slightly. Worked pretty well.
