for eveyone saying that this or their version is the best then obviously none of ya have heard charlie allan singing it.he is from the north east of scotland and can pronounce all the words correctly and doesnt miss out any verses like i have heard on several versions on here.he does it proper "bothy ballad" style like it should be
@scottishslimjim I agree with your verdict this group cannot be scottish (maybe Irish at a pinch?) No self respecting Scot would pronounce the 'wh' sound in 'whin' as 'win'! For some strange reason I find this very annoying. This band sounds good though, I must admit! (I wish I could sing as well as they do!)
@gruntlesnoot there r so many words they cant pronounce,i dont kno where tara market is,but i do kno where turra is!yeah mispronunciation of words bothers me too,i am a scottish lad thro and thro and if yer gonna sing in my dialect i prefer it to b done correctly!as musicians they sound fine but not singin versuses and changing such a well recognised song such as this from the northeast of scotland where i am from is a shame i do believe.
Was that "Bill Cheatham" the fiddler was playing at the end?

@fantarule I don't care what you think, this is a nice redition and variation of this song.
I'd be happy to see yer version ! Then we call could be so critical.

@shaalis To be a good variation it first has to be good....

Good God this is bad is there one word they pronounce correctly?
Sounds like their trying to sing like their Irish, seems their actually from Canada, BC.
Bloody terrible, when you've heard this sung all of your life and then to hear this.
