I love this commercial. My sixteen year old said "I would SO do that" when she saw it (before the voiceover started." It is hilarious. I don't know what negative comments came out about safety but...come on...it was really funny. Can't we take responsability for our own actions?? It is one of my favorite commercials EVER!!!
@ozaki1 no actually I am 18 and my parents love me. Thats not the point. This is a completely unfair commercial to all new drivers and gives them a bad reputation all for the sake of selling a car. I have a friend who got rear ended by some 40 year old lady, and it was completely the old ladies fault, but her argument was... "They were all probably high, I think I smelled weed." My friend is completely straight edge. Its these kinds of commercials that make irrational people profile good kids.
i love how they are totally bashing teenagers. they pretty much say you have to get a safer car because we are all irresponsible. i understand there are a lot of stupid teenagers but i still don't like this commercial. well the bungee thing was kind of awesome.
I dont get why ppl are so offended by this commercial. I wanna do what she did, i think its SOOOO cool. Thats why i looked up the video. There are park rides that are based on the same human slingshot concept. Are they really painting a negative picture of teens. it doesn't seem so to me.
that looks unsafe as a motherfucker, uts funny cuz she was safe. But if she goes flying out of that harness and cracks her skull it would be another story
Teens are inexperienced drivers which puts them at higher risk for accidents. Just a couple of weeks ago a teen driver came careening off of a flyover feeder in my community at over 100 mph and somehow managed to land the car on the roof of a gym. Unfortunately, the young man did not survive the crash.
WTF wat does that have to do with driving so are they trying to say that us teens are gonna tie cars to bungie cords and just send our cars flying fuck hundi and their stereotyping
Why are they still allowed to air these commercials? As a teen driver i would like to say that this commercial is just reinforcing the stereo type that teens are bad drivers. Frankly we are better drivers than those idiots who are always on the phone when driving.
I know I'm not the best driver, but you've got to think. I've been driving for only about nine months. There are some adults out there that cannot drive any better.
Just the other day I was driving along the road doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG, correct lane, obeying the speed limit, when a middle-aged male ADULT, yes, the "best drivers in the world" came towards me in my lane and nearly caused a head-on collision. He was driving in the wrong lane and speeding. I get honked at for stopping at stop signs (which is what you are supposed to do) and other things because I'm a 16 year old driver.
This ad makes me want to rebel. Pull out my black flag wave it around some, then pull out my AK and show them Hyundai pricks that the we (the Youth) will stand up for our rights. I will never buy a Hyundai because of this commercial. Boycotting them for life.
@GotMelky01 As a teenager you think you are invincible and know every thing. Then you get older and realize you were naive. Why is this commercial so offensive?? Boycott Hyundai for life? Really? Is this really something that is so severely offensive to you that you will not buy their car? Aren't there more important things to feel so passionately about?
these comercials are horibly offensive and nobody other than teenagers seem to care, if made a comercial that said better upgrade your security system because black people steal a lot the whole fucking counrty would loose their balls, so how is this any diferent? Please tell me. And what the fuck, they went and made another bullshit comercial and still havnt stoped being ignorant long enough to realise there wrong.
While teens are statistically among the worst drivers, as a teen I find these commercials horribly offensive. We get that teens are not the best drivers, but its wrong to categorize all teens as being bad. And what about elderly drivers? They are just as bad if not worse then teens. I hope so bad that Hyundai plays fair and makes anti elderly commercials.
but any adult would think otherwise because they are steriotypical bastards against teens. everywhere teens go we get looks like we dont know how to do stuff. like in restaurants. they dont think we will tip. getting license, they assume we will have accidents. this world is so full of critisism its ridiculous. just because some teens cant drive dont criticize the rest of them. Idiots at Hyundai. especially. unprofessional bastards.
See the reason that i have a problem with this video is that , since when is it professional to steriotype. Lets steriotype women, old people, and plain out bad drivers. teens are learning to drive , yes. but still i guarentee more than 70% of teens are better drivers then adults. they have young minds and can focus on the road alot more. i mean thats my idea.
What if Hyundai came out with a commercial featuring the tagline "Thankfully, not all of us have to share a house with a woman. But we do have to share the road with them." After all, there are just about as many people who say women are bad drivers. Does that make it okay?
I'm the one who did the bungee. It was completely safe, and tested many times with my exact weight. It was a lot of fun! I would pay to do this, but got paid instead. Oh, and I'm a stunt actress, not just an actress, so it's ok. I love my job!
@eischen25 ....I think it's just because it looks like you got whipped around and looks like your shoe came flying off. Have to admit that at first, I thought it was a stunt, like on Jackass, that went horribly wrong and that was the point behind the ad. Glad to see you're okay and didn't get whiplash.
This is the most stupid commercial ive ever seen. It literally is telling people to profile teenagers as bad drivers. Whats next? Asians? Good fucking job Hyundai, you have successfully earned a reputation as presumptive douche bags.
?? Does your parents have trust issues or something? The message, plain and simple, is this: You love your children, so get them a very safe car just in case.
I thought this would be on youtube:) What I didn't count on when I set out to look it up was that there would be so much negative talk about it. I thought it was pretty funny and I can definitely see my boy trying this. And it shall be added to my list of "DO NOTS" when he leaves the house...
This commercial is so fucking stupid. Its obviously fake. I know that people do stupid shit all the time, but come on guys, at least TRY and make it look real. The Sonata suck ass too!!!
They switched the words in the commercial. On t.v. it says teenagers not " young adults. Either way it's offensive. Imagine if the commercial said "This year 3 million old people will renewal their Licenses..." They wouldn't though, because they know senior citizens would not put up with that, they only pick on kids because they are "voiceless"
@therealallpro you're really going to take offense to a little joke? Grow up, you're probably only 15 and this statement gives reason of why people should be afraid of kids on the road.
I just hate the fact that today people get SO upset and "offended" over the littlest things. I'm only 19, and yes still a teenager. Do you see my getting my panties in a bunch over this, no. And the worst part is that people get offended when someone else is being discriminated against when they're not even is the group of people that the slander was against. Americans need to grow up and not bitch and moan about the most miniscule problems. Theres other things to worry about
