    thanks. However the proton fluence was still very low, about 10 million protons per spill or so. The range of 70 MeV protons is a few cm, so you can clearly see where the protons stop. BTW, the synchrotron was also "home made" by the University. I was the last to use their proton beam back in 2005. Since then they were only doing electrons for synchrotron light production. :-/
