  • Happy 64th Wedding Anniversary to HM The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh!!!

  • I wished they had shown HM being walked down the aisle by her father.

  • i wonder what the Communist Stalin thought about all this !!!!

  • Only successful Windsor marriage or what? 60+ years and still going. Wow!

  • @mikessingh1 Really? What about all of her first cousins? They are all still married to their spouses. Princes Edward, Micheal and Richard. Princess Alexandria is a widow. Prince William died before he married and if I'm not mistaken, Vicount Lasalle is remarried because his first wife passed away. They are all Windsors.

  • @lesababy Sorry I made an error. I should have said the Earl of Harewood instead of Vicount Lasalle.

  • The weddings are the exact same.... isn't this a little crazy??

  • I just love the Queen. She looked so pretty in yellow today. I hope she comes back to America soon.

  • i watched this because of william and kate wedding!

  • Thumbs up if you're here because of today's wedding!!

  • @3kidzzful you bet. Didn't Kate look so beautiful?

  • wow at the balcony... I wonder Philip's mom beside queen mother? Alice?

  • OMG THE QUEEN ("")-_-("")

  • You know maybe they should take in a comparison of this day and the upcoming Royal Wedding. Not just Charles and Diana, but HM The Queen and HM Prince Philip.

  • @mjakes20 I totally agree. The Queen's wedding was just beautiful, they are the best couple ever :)

  • Who represented the US ?

  • @WDI2008 Who cared

  • The Queen's wedding dress was magnificent. Can somebody tell me. The dress itself doesn't seem to have a train attached to the skirt but the veil was long. This is the best video by far I have seen of the queen's wedding it is difficult to make out whether there was an actual train or was the veil the train. Royal brides today seem to have miles and miles of silk trailing behind them but our queen is elegant in an understated way. In fact she has class.

  • Her Majesty wore the most beautiful wedding gown I've ever seen!

  • @pegasigirl2010 I had not seen the dress in movement before. A nice surprise as the still photos make it look definitely frumpy. It was certainly nothing like the fashion sketches Norman Hartnell released to the press where the flounces appeared light and flared whereas in reality they were rather heavy and hung straight down.. The embroidered veil was superb though. I read that woman from all over the country sent their clothing ration stamps so that the silk for the dress could be purchased.

  • Queen Victoria was the great-great Grandmother of both the Queen and Prince Phillip. Her great Grandfather and his great Grandmother were brother and sister. Not that anyone gives a shit - lmao.

  • for elizabeth destiny is great so great. indeed it was after evrything shes seen and been thru i have nothing but love for her

  • all of phillips sisters were not invited bc 3 out of 4 had married german princes with close ties to the nazi's

  • What are the rules of princes/princesses marrying commoners now?

  • "The boy King Faisal of Iraq" - I feel so sorry for that guy. Completely innocent; saint like in his kindness. And ruthlessly murdered by the Iraqi people. Terrible!

  • long live her royal highness and prince philip, a match made in heaven and so much in love

  • Comment removed

  • Are they lin Love? I thought that they married out of duty, since this is her job to marry and produce an heir to the throne. If they are in love, then that's great, but I have wondered...

  • Hey, they deffo wed in love.

They met and began exchanging letters before she was in line for the throne.

Remember, her uncle was originaly supposed to be King, not her father. But her uncle abducated.

Her parents didn't actually approve of this marraige at first, so it was her decission..

    I hope this helps!

  • Oh, that comment was for Witchy1976

  • what hymn is singed on the wedding scenes?? :D

    greetings from chile =D

  • That beautiful hymn is called "The Lord's My Shepherd". Greetings from North Carolina, USA.

  • God bless The Queen!!

    God save The Queen!!

    Long live Elizabeth II !

    Long may she reign!!!

    --***E II R***--

  • Beautiful wedding

  • He was the wrong man for her, and the King knew it! But he couldn't say no to her.

She was not prepared to be queen. She needed someone who was more mature, better educated, more experienced and with a higher IQ than she had. Instead she got this ridiculous playboy who was even less competent than she was.

  • That is utter BS - surely you are getting her mixed up with her sister Margaret who had been in love with a divorced man (Townsend) that she was not allowed to marry. Instead she married Snowdon.

  • No! George VI did not approve of Philip Mountbatten. The King never knew Snowdon -- he would I am sure have disapproved of that person as well. Both princesses married unsuitable individuals. Margaret suffered more than Elizabeth, but she has suffered a lot too.

  • actualy I dont think any dad approves of his daughters fiance they wanna keep the daughter for themsleves but I dont think elizabeth has suffered the love each other very much she was nealy in tears when she gave a speech about him.... the sign that the truly love eachother is is that they have this twinkle in there eyes when they see eachother... and philip is not a playboy just a bit old fashioned

  • As a father of daughters only, I can tell you that when you see a good son-in-law coming over the horizen you treat him like a King. If he is intelligent, down-to-earth, kind, loves your daughter, can take care of her and the coming grandkids well--he is the partner of you old age.

Elizabeth was a protected and innocent girl. Philip was a Romeo at 18--a handsome, dashing skirt chaser. He was a good officer, but not a brilliant one. Fathers hope for more, esecially if daughter is future Queen.

  • granted philip was a romeo ... but he would never cheat on the queen and if the queen loved him and philip loved the queen then who are we or even her father to say he was the wrong man for her..aslong as she is happy and I think she is

  • It is very likely Philip has had a number of affairs while married to the Queen. What their relationship is can only be guessed at. We know that, that unlike Queen Victoria, she did not take his name; we know that he plays no part in government. When some nut jumped Buckingham Palace walls and made his way to the Queen's bedroom, we found out that not only did Philip not share her bedroom or have one next to hers, he slept in another wing of the Palace. They are lifetime companions.....but more?

  • keep in mind they did have four kids.... and my grand parents dont sleep in the same bed... he is 87 and they are royals they do seem to live on different planet to the rest of us.... one thing is for sure they love eachother more than charles and diana

  • @mc0558 well he is royalty too so wouldn't that be enough. he is not a commener

  • Yes, he's royalty, if there is such a thing. It's not his family that's at issue, though there are problems enough there. It's his personality and character.

Still, she was in love with him; whether she is now, who can say? But I think he has been no in terms of her political responsibilities. He emotes; he isn't cool; and he isn't clever.

  • 3:55 Princess Elizabeth had eight bridesmaids in all at her wedding on 20 November 1947. They were: Princess Margaret, Princess Alexandra of Kent, Lady Caroline Montagu-Douglas-Scott, Lady Mary Cambridge, Lady Elizabeth Lambart, The Hon. Pamela Mountbatten, The Hon. Margaret Elphinstone and The Hon. Diana Bowes-Lyon. .
  • Thanks for that useful info.
