@ buicksteen someone has no idea what theyre doing under the hood if their 427 with no matter what fuel or exhaust diameter, isnt pulling 450 and hes pulling 12 o's on the quarter with a big block thats not quite pushing 4?! my dad runs a 55 210 post with a 327 and hes got it n/a and tweaked. engine dyno'd in drumheler at just better than 450 hes running 4.56 gears with a 700R4 with the shift set for 6200 and hes lucky to pass 13.2; 57 was heavier than 55, same 427 and 327... doesnt make sense

427 bored 030 - RPM performer cam - 049 heads - hi comp pistons - 4" exhaust - th400 with stall converter - 12 b truck with 4.11 / 1 - 325 drag radial. runs on 99 oktane pump gas. 394 RWHP. and yes its pure H2O.

Christ, What's the motor in that '57? Maybe it's the line lock, or the solid 33-Second burnout, but it doesn't look stock to me. I have a '55 Bel Air 4dr w/ a 235cid Blue Flame Straight-6, & it's all stock, it's got the Bias-Ply Mickey Mouse Gangster White Walls, & I run Sunoco Cam 2 Leaded Race Gas (115 Octane) mixed w/ 97 Octane Pump Gas. I'm worried about burning the engine (piston/heads/valves/etc) so I try not to run straight-race gas...

kid no one can tell you how to build a hot rod, it is somthing you have to feel. A hot rod is the way you make it, not the way someone else would make it.

To start, take stock of what you have, check for rust, condition of interior and motr, then go from there.

yes it allmost is, if you have bad cooling capassities the last thing you want to do is doing a burnout with top rpm. My guess is that he was doing about 3000 rpm´s, he has the limmit set to 6800 rpm. He runs 12.00 in the quarter.
