Seriously! diarrhea in runners is so common it has a name: runners trots. it's one of the top reasons people drop out a race. Some people can run through it... They are the ones that have shit running down their leg as they cross the finish line. sounds crass, but I've seen it more than once and almost every one I know that has run long races has dealt with their liquified bowels.

These people do have one thing in common that causes diarrhea, cramps, vomitting and fatigue: Running a marathon! 44,000 people ran these races.. 530 sick people actually sounds statistically low.
