I think that boy would have rather took a shot to the face by Mike Tyson than fight the girl. My boys wrestle and every now and then they have to wrestle a girl. I don't care what anybody says they definitely wrestle differently against a girl. I think girls doing these sports are fine and they have every right to do it. but these boys have been raised to be nice to girls now you have to kick her ass. My youngest boy had the same look on his face the last girl he wrestled.

id say work on ur boxing and elbow strikes ima mma fighter have been 4 3 years(started at 16 now im 19)and ive fought guys alot less impressive than u so wat ima say is beat dat ass girl and remember the more viscious u r with striking on the ground(even the occasional hidden head butt) use elbows and knees work on ur boxing ur stand up is good 4 a female but females have much better stamina than guys so use that 2 ur advantage use ur strengths 2 ur advantage but stay well rounded ofcourse.
@justicerupe she is doing modified mma,there are no head punches or elbows.The girl nor the boy have no boxing whatsoever.Females have significantly less stamina than men,thats a scientific fact.She showed good spirit but neither had any fundamental wrestling or ground skills either.I wouldnt have them sparring at this stage,theyre not ready yet.When students have the basics of wrestling,ground escapes and positions as well as boxing,I let them spar light contact.
my advice, you have a nice kick, but don't over use it. Kicks can easily be taken advantage of, especially by someone with a wrestling background. Over time, you will know what to do. When using a grape vine or when you legs are wrapped around the person, make sure to have your weight further back on his/her hips (or else you will fall off and they will have control) and make sure to extend your body and squeeze your hips. They will feel the pain, even if they are stronger than you.
@hmafigther1 I know this was a competition and a friendly one at that. However Competition is the closest thing we get to a "fight" without actually getting into a fight in a self defense situation if that makes sense. All I'm really trying to say is you are not doing you or herself any favors by pulling techniques. Obviously don't kill each other but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. Great match Callie. It is really hard for a true man or boy to fully strike a woman or girl. I cringe at the thought of ever having to fight a woman. Matter of fact if he would have won, the other guys would say, "What type of young man are you? You just beat up a girl." The positive side is that I am teaching my wife and daughter BJJ as my sons and I are learn, and you never know my daughter might fight in a match like you. :-)
Also I would highly suggest more wrestling. As much as you can learn with wrestling I would learn it trust me. I hope to see a lot more fights, best of luck to you.

I wish I would have seen you throw a couple of knees at the start of the fight right before the take down (take down then hopefully avoided). I noticed when he came in for that head lock you had a great opportunity for a muay thai grip followed by some knees. Right around 3:37 or so. If anyone were to get a head lock on you again all you have to do is go with it. You will end up in side control. :)

I think it is better to wait till 16 (at least) so you are more grown and your body will geth less damaged from strikes.
Why noth do grappling/wrestling tournaments and train some striking besides that.

@FairPlayCoolGuy Actually, I don't think most guys are jealous...I think most guys are conflicted. I think her opponent in this fight was conflicted...which is why, at the start of this fight, when she was throwing punches and kicks, he was pulling back.
What I don't understand is why girls and boys are often thrown into fighting one another. This girl is talented...and it's very possible that she would've beat this guy regardless...but he never looked comfortable in this fight, IMHO!
