Oh, man--I eagerly waited 11 months for this flick to come out and... HATED it! From the experience, I knew better than to watch the live-action "Cat in the Hat."
I love this movie, Sorry the NC didn't like it but I grew up watching this every christmas and still watch it when the holidays come around. Some of the acting wasn't great (really didn't like Mayor or Cindy that much) but Jim Carrey was hilarious and did a great job at the Grinch in my opinion. As far as the song goes I like the Faith Hill version 10 times better, the kid can't really sing.
PG rating, that's the MPAA's doing. Did you know Home on the Range also got a PG rating? Kind of ironic since it seemed like it was just geared towards little kids. and it was just for that one line that a cow says about her udder "Yeah their real. Quit starring." It's amazing what you can't get away with in movies now a days. In the 90s Home on the Range would have easily gotten a G rating.

Lol, I disagree with the critic on this movie, I think Jim Carry was perfect. I thought the cartoon was crap since I was a kid. I love the critic to death, but 2:36 is going to give me nightmares. I'll be asleep and his face smiling that evil grin will pop up in my mind and I'll lose my will to live ^_^
@TheWinterWaterSong the cartoon is supposed to be simple and for kids, and the grinch himself is supposed to be gritty, hot-tempered, but also subtle and stealthy. what made the cartoon great was Boris Carloff (the Frankenstein-monster) as the voice of the grinch and being the narrator. Jim Carrey however, made the grinch into the complete opposite althoug it's funny at times, but i hated how loud his home is since the grinch is supposed to hate loud noises.

Well, what do you expect them to look like in real-life when in the books and the animated version they look like humanoid half monkey-half weasel-mutans? And on top of that, most of them in the animated version walked around naked and were covered in fur and had tails!

I respect NC's opinion of this movie, but I actually liked this version. It was funny at times and it's one of my favorite holiday movies. If you wanna see something bad, try the Mike Myer's version of Cat in the Hat.

As much as I like the nostalgia critic, I think he's being a little judgemental assuming the Lorax is going to suck, in a way so sentimental. I mean, no one knows what's going to happen, and no matter what does, people will still be flappin' their gums on how much they hate it, they won't give it a chance in hell, no matter how they make it.
How would shoes effect how he feels about something? Obviously he's never worn heels. That kind of never-ending annoying pain would turn anyone into a bitchbag.
@ 0:20- 0:28, that's not exactly true. Feelings about this movie have always been quite mixed, with people either loving it or hating it (Like 'Hook'). I liked it, though.
@ 0:59- 1:06, wearing uncomfortable shoes tends to make people grumpy.
@ 1:48- 1:52, I was expecting him to say "Whoever said this needs an update deserves to be fired!"
I don't know about you all, but this review's got it right. The thought that people love this film gives me a fright. Universal Pictures should cease making films from classic Dr. Seuss tales. I've seen the sets and they were all polyester. Much more interesting was the set behind there...the Bates Motel from "Psycho"! The rhyming is getting on my nerves.
i went to the sets where they made the movie and judging by how dark the set is in the film they must have waited for a solar eclipse on a winters night to film the whoville segments
I never saw this film for I, like the Critic, think the original is best and doesn't need fixing but hey it's Hollywood, screw original stories, we'll just remake or rip off old stuff, if it aint broke, we'll remake it and make more money

@SmilieChick16 Don't ever be afraid to share your opinion. Nobody can say that you're wrong cause it's how you personally feel. I love this movie and I watch it every christmas. ANd I actually didn't find this review funny at all for that matter--rhyming was annoying.

As much as I like the nostalgia critic, I think he's being a little judgemental assuming the Lorax is going to suck, in a way so sentimental. I mean, no one knows what's going to happen, and no matter what does, people will still be flappin' their gums on how much they hate it, they won't give it a chance in hell, no matter how they make it.

@ 0:20- 0:28, that's not exactly true. Feelings about this movie have always been quite mixed, with people either loving it or hating it (Like 'Hook'). I liked it, though.
@ 0:59- 1:06, wearing uncomfortable shoes tends to make people grumpy.
@ 1:48- 1:52, I was expecting him to say "Whoever said this needs an update deserves to be fired!"

I don't know about you all, but this review's got it right. The thought that people love this film gives me a fright. Universal Pictures should cease making films from classic Dr. Seuss tales. I've seen the sets and they were all polyester. Much more interesting was the set behind there...the Bates Motel from "Psycho"! The rhyming is getting on my nerves.

i went to the sets where they made the movie and judging by how dark the set is in the film they must have waited for a solar eclipse on a winters night to film the whoville segments
