I just bought it and prints two paper perfectly but then it prints photos with light lines (banding) looks very bad I didn't change anything and it's the first day
great review.......you specified your reason for choosing pigment inks was that it "guarantees fade and water resistance for the coming decennia"........just for a decade, that is only 10 yrs....the Epson Stylus Photos 1400 uses Epson Clairia Ink (pigment based and Wilhelm shows its life at ~ ~ 200 yrs.......
Was the decenia comment a typo??
Thanks I just recieved a refurb Epson Stylus Photos 1400 as a Xmas gift so I am hunting for the best Pigment based ink and Cis system I can find.
Well actually the 200 years in an album, kept away from light and air. I used the plural decennia (decennium) as I do not know what the performance of this particular pigment ink is. So if it will keep well for 40-50 years to come in open air, it is OK for me. I have pictures with dye refill ink in an album and are still very crisp and vivid. Similar pictures I taped on the window facing the sun already faded horribly after a few months time using this dye ink.
Thanks for sharing this greatEpson 1400 coverted to CISS with pigment ink , I really enjoyed the insign you bring to the topic, awesome stuff!
