(5:07) Wash the dry tendon with warm water to remove cattle fat. (5:21) Put this tendon on a board and brush paste on it. (5:37) When it's well starched, harden this tendon. (5:46)When it's dried properly, take this off the board. (5:55) Thin bamboo blade is used to take the tendon off the board without being snapped. (6:13) This cattle tendon is the last material of the Korean horn bow.
(1:12) Put the hot glue on horn and wood frame and bind these together. (1:50) We use this wooden tool to make it very tight. (2:32) We make handle with oak which is over 3 years old. (3:20) We also put the glue on handle for many times to make it stick well and to protect from moisture. (3:45) Stick this handle on bow with lots of pressure. (4:02) Trim the assembled bow. (4:48) We attach cattle tendon to the bow. This holds bow frame tight to prevent it from breaking.
After it's shape is made, cut it into right width and trim it. (0:15) Coat this in 3 layers to protect this bow from moisture. (0:22)Korean horn bow use this unique horn which makes our bows have dynamic stability. We only use outer surface of the horn. Trim this in right size and straighten at the fire and put it in the water to keep the shape. (0:57) After dry this horn, we paint it with glue several times for 3 days to make it easy to stick on wood frame.
