  • This Guy has been staying in a 700 dollar hotel room for 3 months. An the ua is probably paying for it.

  • Good luck cats you can HAVE him LOL

  • Have fun with him. He doesn't emphasize defense, you will win in the pac 12 but he was doomed in a defense heavy big 10.

  • RichRod never emphasized the rivalry with Ohio State, the biggest in all of sports, but hes going to emphasize Arizona's tiny little regional rivalry with Arizona state?! Hmmn. Rich Rod either is learning from his mistakes or is simply giving everyone lip service.

  • i'm a michigan fan but i only wish rich rod well at arizona. i'm a little bitter that he led michigan through some of the most embarrassing years in history...but it's time to move on and i hope rich rod does a good job at arizona

if arizona and rich rod want to win though...you gotta get rid of greg robinson asap b/c he's a moronic defensive coordinator

  • Yeah yall will love him until he does you dirty

  • If this is the guy UA thinks the rest of the PAC-12 coaches don't want to see at UA, it must be because they realize UA will have no bowl revenue to share with the rest of the conference! If this has any chance of succeeding, RichRod needs to have nothing whatsoever to do with the defense! If the numbers "3-3-5" appear anywhere in Tucson over the next month, it's time to sell those season tix!

  • @hdhsod66 That is such an ignorant comment! The 3-3-5 doesn't work in the Big 10 because of the nature of the Big 10.... and because of the offenses that are run here. Look at what the Pac 12 is. The 3-3-5 would be excellent there. Oregon would be blown up by it consistently, that's for sure. The read option spread is suited perfectly for the Pac 12. Rich Rod invented it and Oregon proved that it works in that conference. There is no evidence to say RIch Rod won't succeed there.

  • @ThoseWhoStayUofM Yep, works in the conference except for against USC.

  • @ThoseWhoStayUofM Brady Hoke runs a 3-3-5. Now you're going to tell me that doesn't work? What?!?!?

  • @BenjaminIsMyName The 3-3-5 defense was designed for one purpose and one purpose only: to defeat the spread offense. That is what it does. It aligns athletic players in such a way that they are capable of stopping screen passes without leaving vertical seams in the middle of the field. It is therefore intuitively obvious why the 3-3-5 defense will work in the Pac 12 but fail in the Big 10. Do you understand now?

  • @ThoseWhoStayUofM Well, yes I get what you are saying. But Northwestern runs a spread, and it works for them. Only problem with Northwestern is they don't have a defense.

  • @BenjaminIsMyName I never said the spread offense doesn't work in the Big 10. I said the 3-3-5 defense doesn't work in the Big 10. In 2010, the spread offense worked for Michigan just fine. We were one of the best offenses in the country statistically last year. The 3-3-5 defense, however, was one of the worst defenses in the country. It's because we were using it in the Big 10, where the teams with big athletic players run power.

  • At least Arizona doesn't have any tradition he can totally ruin. So in that case, good hire!

  • Good hire

  • here we go wildcats.... lets hope this program gets on its feet fast, just like we did with basketball. Bear Down!

  • No, just no, Arizona made a mistake. Look what he did at Michigan. I'm just trying to warn you guys nicely that he is not the answer. I had to endure the worst 3 years of Michigan football history. I wish you luck, and hope for the best, but I have to question this hire.

  • Hope that this is a start of an era
