How do you set up your template?  How many instances of each engine (such as KONTAKT/EWQL Play) do you run? How large is it and what do you generally start scoring first?

@DV7Dave Thank you, but this is a rather simple idea and setup, i seem to recall the main theme being written around the Violin runs, the rest was just a case of connecting the dots and thickening out the orchestration.

I'd love to know your setup: what's your orchestral template, samples used etc., are you using 'Vienna Ensemble Pro' and, if so, does it effectively function as a VST instrument within Cubase SX, allowing you to open multiple instances of Kontakt in VE Pro?

...and, if so, how many Kontakt MIDI tracks would that allow, depending on RAM, of course?

Two questions: (1) Did you write this piece in notation before entering it into Cubase? And (2) how long did it take you to program it?

@Deloreansyk Well, no...i tend to write there and then, i don`t want to over-think my pieces when it is not called for, i write pretty spontaneously as long as i have some idea of where the piece is going, and why. The programming...a couple of days, i would guess. Not that i remember , but it is a quite simple tune, really..so i should think 2 days or so.

Great work. I'm a bit noob but.. I'm trying to use the Vienna Ensemble Pro in Cubase. When I click add instrument and select the "Vienna Ensemble Pro", it appears to be the server thing, so how can I use Cubase to control and sequence the Vienna Ensemble Pro?
