Frankly, a penalty shoot out is all about luck, and chelsea could have won if they had good fortune that day. Chelsea and United played top class football and that is why they got to the final. The penalty shootout might not be fair - but at the end of the day, both teams were just too good. You can't have two winners - Man United won that day

his technique in taking the penalty was poor. he planted his standing foot too close to the ball, so when he tried to strike it into the far right corner, he slipped. that's not bad luck, it's human error
