I remember telling my dad about the wonderful world of color water show they have now at california adventure, and he goes, "what? like the show?" awh, i wish they still aired this!
@TextureAndLight- perhaps you are blind and nothing wrong with that, but there are African American people in this video. WATCH THE VIDEO AND STOP TROLLING!!!! I didn't make it to Disney until 1968, but I do remember this show being run and getting all excited! Brought back wonderful memories.
@lensmaker1 I would love to go back in time to 1962. I was alive then but just a kid. I wish I had been born earlier and could have raised my own family back then. I would have been content to have died by 1980.
@LoreneFaith It's a good time to be nostalgic for if you're Caucasian ( which I am.) But otherwise it kind of sucked. This video is from 1962 and the civil rights act was still years away. Are there even any African Americans in this video?
@TextureAndLight I do understand what you are saying. I went to Disneyland many times as a kid and don't remember many blacks there. Although I hate a lot of things now, it is much more equal for those of different races and religions and this is a good thing.

@lensmaker1 I am just glad that as a kid, I was able to go to Disneyland back during this time. The first time I went there was in 1962 when I was six years old :)
Oh, MAN, am I loving this vid! I remember when Disneyland looked like this, including the street performers and Tinkerbell darting across the sky. Now almost everything has changed, including (and so much for) their upstanding priorities ... :(
@MrJohnnyv1993 I remember when Disneyland had the big parking lot in the front. You just drove in through the front entrance with the great retro marquee sign and parked in the huge parking lot. There was no California adventure park then, just all of those cars :)
It gives me a strange chill, just watching this. I've been to disneyland recently and just looking at this versus whats there today, besides the exception of a few attractions being gone now and others added, it almost looks the same as it did 48 years ago. I mean you could almost mistaken that disneyland for the one we have today.
@togi55 Not naive at all. I totally agree. The simple life just does not exists anymore. So glad we grew up when it did. By the way, I love the Rock & Roll, then and now videos you have posted. Brings back so many memories of being a teen in the 70's :)
@LoreneFaith Thanks, Lorene. That was a mass communications class project and those were all the kids in my neighborhood. Love the Disney clips; I remember what a thrill it was to see the show in color for the first time.
@togi55 What a great memory! Those were the days my friend...I also remember the day my Dad brought home our first color television set. It was soooooo exciting!
I remember seeing Tinkerbell doing this as a child at Disneyland. It was unbelievable at the time. We had never seen anything like it! I still wonder how it was done.
@LoreneFaith It was exactly like it looks. She flew on a zip line. Not the safest jobs either, but it paid really well I am told. They also did this at Walt Disney World later on.
the Mark 4 was the very first monorail at WDW with 20 years of running, and then then got mark 6, Disneyland had mark 1 mark 2 mark 3 mark 5 and now the mark7 they must have had issue with these small monorail at Disneyland.

@frugalfruit I haven't seen this show yet at California Adventure. I can't wait and want to see the Little Mermaid ride too.

Keep in mind that back then, this was the only way the majority of the country could get a feel for Disneyland, always great seeing how it developed.

@sislau I too remember this Disneyland as a child. It has changes a lot over the years but enough of it is the same that I still love being there.

@TheMrawesomedude14 I think it is the same in name only. The heart of the company has defiantly changed, and not for the better.

Seems naive now, but these were simple, delightful pleasures. They should have been enough. But they weren't. No hope now.

Why can't Disney start a "Disney Classics" Channel, and feature all this fantastic footage from the old retro proadcasts? I miss them sooooo much!

@PofRCT I agree! It would be a wonderful idea and would make so many Disney fans happy! I wish someone from Disney would listen to us!

To think they did all this without computers. Actually looked like a live Tinkerbell on a zipline!

aaahh they got doors that swings open just like the mark 4 monorail in florida. and I want that blue car you see at 0:52

The mark 4 must have been modeled after the monorail in Disneyland. Isn't this classic stuff great!
