  • 700 yards, no way. Bullet impact is too soon.

  • @RSpicer426

well have you ever shot @ 700 yards using 7mag, 168 gr berger with BC.617 pushing 3000 f/s? any way I don't know where you live, but check "gun site hills" on the web and check the same range in case you live close and want to join us sometime for shooting.

  • @RSpicer426 I stumbled onto this video and kinda wondered the same thing about the length of time. Given 168gr, BC of .617 at 3000fps at the muzzle, 728ft of elevation (published elevation of Lexington, GA as I found it) 85 degrees, 29.92 Hgs of pressure and 70% humidity, jbmballistics says the bullet should take .842 seconds to get to the target at 700 yards. I just guessed the temp, atmospheric pressure and humidity as I am familiar with GA weather.

  • Awsome shooting, nice rifle.

  • @Velocity4000fps

thanks for watching, and the complement

  • @shirazenterprise Cool, sounded like you was having fun. I have been wanting either a 7mm mag or the 6.5 - 284 norma for a while. Me and my brother have been learning how to make long shots with a .270 and .243. What kind of ammo you use?. i have heard good things about the berger vld bullets.

  • @Velocity4000fps Hi. I have 7mm rem mag, and 300wsm long range systems; my next one will definately be a 6.5x284. I load my ammo myself and I had a vrey good luck with berger bullets. this vedio is belong to the first time I took my 7mag to 700 yard range, if you look at my other clips, you will see that my groups tight up realy good. So, berger bullet was good from the begining, and I was the verible that needed to be worked on.don't give up on berger bullet, it performs very well on game also

  • @shirazenterprise I'm considering the savage M11 long range hunter in 6.5 284 or 7mm. I just recently purchased a box of HSM 95 gr. berger vld ammo for my .243 as the BC was very high, the highest of any .243 ammo i have seen. Then seen how high the BC was for the berger 6.5 and 7mm, wow!!. I dont reload yet, i have been saving all my brass until i can purchase my own epuipment. If money wasent a issue, i would get me a mcwhorter rifle. The savage will run me around $1700 with a midrange scope.

  • @Velocity4000fps savage is a very good rifle, but in case if you wand a custom rifle, look in pownshops for a beat up remington 700 with a good action, take the barrle of and send the action to Dauglass to true the action and put a good barrel on it for about $450, put a timny trigger on it for $100 and get you a tactical Bell&carlson stock with aluminum bedding for $210 and have all the screws torqued down. this is a very inexpensive way for the toy you will get. good luck with your fun hobby.

  • Nice! Im looking at a Sendero rem 700 package with a 5.5-22x56 NF NXS on it, blueprinting the action, trueing the barrel, bedding the barrel, and getting a muzzle brake for it. However, it comes in 7mRM and RUM, and .300 Win and RUM. Ideas?

  • Man that is an awesome gun. I just got in to shooting long range. I traded my shot gun in for a savage model 110 7mm rem mag. I have a muzzle break that is adjustable for bullet grain and i have a limb saver on the stock to help my shoulder...lol. However, the best thing i bought for this gun is the nikko stirling 6-24x44mm scope. I have terrible vision and with that thing, it makes seeing at 600 yards easy. Just recently i was shooting bowling pins at 420yards with ease. Nice gun. Great Shot!

  • savage 110 is a great rifle out of box. and I love .284 bullets. good luck with your new hobby. I am sure you will never regret starting this.

  • so how much was that rifle out the door, not including scope?

  • nice shooting my roommate has a 7mm mag with a nightforce and the exbal program and does very well out 1300 even attempted a 1 mile shot

  • Wow. that is wonderful. I haven't had the chance to shoot over 1000 yards yet. now I do better with my rifles( learning more). but if the gun is good and you know your data, that exbal program is dead on.

good luck to you and your friend. its a nice hobby to have, but can be expensive too.LOL

  • What Re You Shooting At? The Big Metal thing I Mean.

  • what was the weight of the bullet? nice shooting

  • thanks for the complement.

I am shooting 168gr berger VLD, seems to be very consistent, and has a good performance too.

  • I use bipod, but mostly I was shooting off bench

  • Nice shootin' fellas! I got a 7mm rem mag too, dont have quite the setup you guys have tho. You using a bipod from prone I take it?

  • nice shooting guys, and thanks for the info

    KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
