  • ROBOCOP!!!!

  • the Aztecs were extremely advanced. only if they had gun powder/

  • all culture is the same always greedy... i bet aztec will ravage the old world if they pioneer the age of discovery...

  • And the goddamn Christians burned most of the historical records and other writings of the ancient Aztecs and other pre-Columbian American civilizations. What a pity. :-(

  • @supersmash43 Nah that was the Spanish. They just happened to be Catholic.

  • @supersmash43 Yeah it is a shame they actually found thousands of scrolls and burned them!! That is why you never burn books, the lost knowledge makes me cry. Same thing with the inquisition and cities being sacked and books being lost. Those friars I thought had more sense than that, they studied latin history.

  • haha i always used to confuse between Aztecs and the Egyptians or the Babylonia, their cultures all look the same.

  • @theend1245 not if you really learn about it

  • People shut the fuck up and learn about the aztec civilization :)

  • yeah .. my beloved Aztecs did what they thought that was right.. in the mean while some pieces of shit that knew stuff ; killed their own fathers and mothers and not just that but came over to do it over here too., killing their own ; over pieces of gold ...you know ; ROAD TO EL DORADO.. hahaha if you wanna see'em kill each other just put some gold on the side walk and make sure one of them finds'it

  • Fuck the rest of the cultures no one develop a calendar badass back then. Plus they knew astronomy.

  • @humanequality8383

this statement just proved ur stupidity, u clearly know nothing about history. The Aztec women were RAPED by the Conquistadors. Go read a book ya fuckin' moron!

  • Now I understand why these Europeans fucked upppp these animal wild Indians! 100% supported by DEMONS

  • @xOxKurdParstxOx

did u just call the Aztecs "animal wild Indians"?

u being a Kurd have no right to call anyone an "animal" consider the fact that u trust the words of a pedophile who raped a 9 year old girl, drink camel's piss and worship a formless shit-eating entity called Allah.

  • Comment removed

  • @xOxKurdParstxOx

ur Muslim camel piss drinking people fucking stoned people to death and beheading people with a knife. And u have the nerve to call these people "savages"? Go eat Allah's shit faggot!

  • @vietorkorean :D LLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLL an Asian SHEMALE GENDERLESS Got Something 2 say TOO! hahahahhahaahah :D R u a Boy or a GIRL? Is there any difference? execept the Haircut? ahahahahhahahaha

  • @xOxKurdParstxOx

doesn't matter how many L's and O's u putted into "LOL", or how many "haha" u typed. We both know ur not really laughing that hard, and even if u are it's not really gonna make me mad. But i see that ur brain still hasn't evolved pass the kindergarten way of thinking that is "whoever laughs more wins the argument. And to answer ur question, i am a boy, and the difference between a boy and a girl is that a boy can produce semen that can impregnate a girl.

  • @xOxKurdParstxOx

If u study biology u would know that which i doubt u do considering the fact that ur people still believe that the piss of a camel can cure any illness. So if i was u, i wouldn't waste time on youtube calling anyone "savages". Instead I would go pick up a book and start learning. Who knows? maybe one day u can get ur people out of the Middle Ages. Maybe one day u guys will get to live in houses and not in some caves like a bunch of animals.

  • @vietorkorean :D Im NOT Arab! Second=HOw do u know Im a Muslim! Who r u to Judge me? U MEAN ARABS! We are NOT Arabs, Im not Arab. Well hahahah When my PEOPLE Created the FIRST BIGGEST Empire WORLDWIDE/Arian MEDIAN EMPIRE, u Asiatic Bitches still were Developing into HomoSapience human being :D From Ape Humans.

  • @xOxKurdParstxOx

I only gave u a taste of ur own medicine. U don't want to be judge yet u judged the Aztecs by calling them "savages"? Were u alive at the time of the Aztecs? Do u fully understand their religion? U were clearly offended because i insulted ur religion. U also don't know anything about history. Sure, some of the earliest civilizations were developed around the Fertile Crescent. But they are far from anything which i would call "worldwide".

  • @xOxKurdParstxOx

And the Homo Sapiens (modern humans) have been around for at least 150,000 years. The oldest civilization in the Middle East is at max 10,000 years ago. Yet at that time my people were still "developing into Homo Sapience human being from Ape Humans"? Do u see ur stupidity? Do u even go to school? But i think we should stop this argument because our intellectual levels are too far apart. It's not like u can understand anything i say with ur shitty English and lack of knowledge.

  • @vietorkorean He is a dumbass. Have you ever heard of the Clovis, Pedra Furada, and all those other things that only humans can do? But look at Australia, the people who lived there were still in the stone age when they were discovered, they wernt fucking apes xOxKurdParstxOx is a dumbass.

  • @vietorkorean So? Everybody is STEALING,KILLING,Assimilating.... LET ME TOO, To Re-writte History,TO LIE.... Is that not POSSIBLE FOR ME? a Single human? While States,Republics, millions do?

  • @xOxKurdParstxOx

If i understand what you are talking about, i might attempt to answer it. But please consider my advice and go take some English lessons. It would benefit u much more to know another language than sitting in front of your computer typing hateful comments.

  • I am glad we conquered those crazy mofos.

  • @vidman163 Yeah! Ur forefathers should actuelly Burn them alive!

  • @xOxKurdParstxOx: Well I liked Nehuatzcoal as he was not a crazy human sacrificer, but yeah that would have been a better alternative, imagine being on boat and landing in the new wolrd only to be absolutely ripped apart by someone as nuts as that.

  • Apocalypto

  • I been to those pyramids I was so amazed on how huge they are took me about 30 minutes to reach the top awesome!!!!!!

  • @humanequality8383 Really? Thanks for explaining dude.

  • Bear in mind that the number of sacrifices was also propaganda to spread out fear across the area and as a message to neighbouring nations.

  • Wait, what? The sacrifice and the just random landing on the island. I learned in social class that the Aztecs were told by the gods to find an eagle landing on a cactus and after 300 years of wandering they finally found it on the island that would become Tenochtitlan. I'm confused.

  • @missbean1997 Allow me to clarify, as the documentary did a poor job of relying the whole story. During their journey to the promise land, the Aztecs founded many towns along the way. The particular sacrifice shown in the beginning of this video occurred in one such town where the Aztecs had grown fairly prosperous. Their supposedly commanded this sacrifice specifically to enrage a neighboring kingdom (Colhuacan, where the noblewoman was from) and force the Aztecs to continue onward.

  • The aztecs get alot of crap because of the human sacrifice but the truth is the ancient world as a whole was quite brutal. In ancient times all across the globe many were killed in the name of religion and expansion. Just because they sacrificed their prisoners of war doesn't mean they were any more brutal. The result of war is always the same. Does it really matter how they died?

  • Many sacrifices? Prove this by showing us where the bones of the deceased are. You won't find such bone remains. Why? Aztec sacrifices are the figment of Catholic Priest imagination. Simple! No bones, no sacrifices. At no time, to this day, have any one found piles of bones. Whites are so stupid. Yet they continue, always, to proclaim such sacrifices had occurred. Only the stupid proclaim the stupid. Don't they know this?

  • @philami1 Even in Mexico the experts on the subject of mesoamerica will tell you that there is historical and archaeological evidence that human sacrifice was practiced. Why is this so hard to believe, human sacrifice existed in many ancient cultures. I recommend watching discovery channel's "blood for the gods".

  • @harry911tk

Show us the bones! Not even the Discovery Channel can do this. Yes, there were Sacrifices, but these were few and far between. The Discovery Channel is riddled with 'this and that' they can not and never will substantiate with provable facts. So much for baloney!

  • @philami1 Many historians do agree that some of the earlier accounts were exaggerated.

  • @philami1 Archeologists have found bones under various temples. They have also found a large amount of incinerated bones inside urns throughout the Aztec empire. Likewise, they have also found boiled bones (which some have said came from cannibalistic, religious acts). One of the most famous rulers of Texcoco, Nezahualcoyotl, created a temple where human sacrifice was prohibited, but permitted it in other temples. Saying Aztec sacrifices are figments of imagination is ignorant and untrue.

  • @wasatchhike Human life (and life in general) was so valuable to them, that they were willing to sacrifice the FEW to save the entire world. Now, look at European religious sacrifices. NO COMPARISON. And no, they did not "worship" death. They had very deep understandings of the universe (as did all Native peoples) ; things WELL beyond your comprehension. Hence your ignorant/misguided comment.

  • They are wrong! They were sacrificing people inseminating them with Xenomorph alien to be used in a rite of passage for predator race as thanks for technological edge they received!

  • @Zamolxes77 Best. comment. ever.

  • Holy Shit it's Robocop

  • AZTEC hystory is HUMAN, WORLD hystory.....congratulation to hystory channel!!!

  • @wasatchhike Do you think much evil of the spanish who tortured and burned their own kind because they were accused of witchcraft of because they were jews?

  • @wasatchhike "War" is human sacrifice on a massive scale

Remember they did not kill during battle, only after. So it is not that bad.

Sacrificial victims would also be given many wives and food. Then they would get high on drugs before being sacrificed.

MUCH better then being killed on the battle field and dying in a pool of your own blood! Also I don't know why u say worshiping death is detestable. It's showing respect. day of the dead etc

  • @wasatchhike its happening in the world today in the middle east, Conquerers posting as peacekeepers!! i dont like any conquerers. Great documentory :)

  • Professor Aguilar is in this video!! :D

  • thank you this really helped on an assignment

  • @ BARAC: great post. the truth is behind any great civilization / empire is a trail of innocent blood. it's just the way it is. man is still fighting pointless wars and that will never change. ya it sucks they cut hearts out of children. rome lit christians on fire to light the colosseum. christians have killed just about anything possible since they became powerful. america had it's civil war etc etc etc. the point is doing what almost every other culture has done does not make them savages.

  • The Aztecs moved stone blocks in similar way as the Egyptians did when they constructed the Pyramids.

  • I love this show! Wish the History Channel had more like this on there now.

  • The Aztecs didn't see or call their religion "Human Sacrifice" they called it death pain because the Sun god according to legend, gave his life for humanity and humanity had to offer life in return.

  • One of the greatest MesoAmerican civilizations!

  • Mexica/Aztec human sacrifice is all christian faggotry lies.

  • @khinahn The Aztecs died, any of the aztecs that remained were killed by smallpox. They didn't survive, so there are NO ELDERS.WOW! I JUST LEFT MY CAPS ON, IT MUST BE TRUE!

  • In the actuallity is the same history " you fuck ,you abort" kill your baby when his heart is beating.

  • I just watched this a few days ago on History Channel International. It was very informative and well done. I'm going to watch it again. Thanks for uploading!

  • How did their religion start???

  • I wonder why so many mexicans are mixed but americans aren't.

  • @whitesox889 Actually, a lot of Americans are.

  • @whitesox889 Spanish ships were usually compound of only males, hence they mixed up with the native women... English ships were usually compound of families, so they didn't need to mix up.

  • why thank you cause im aztec and we are volient yes and deed

  • very interesting culture, if only they have wheels.

  • @redhawkdown2 actually they already knew about the wheel but they only used for the car toys of their children or things like that.

  • @torito880 Hard to believe they didn't use it for transportation and etc. as other Ancient civilizations had done.

  • wowyyyyy

  • @AguilaComandanteDGO i cant understand how you could say something so stupid.

  • i cant beileve white people they same one that terrorized the great tribes is telling there story thats why it's told with such lies and disrespect.

  • this was my homework and all the videos were interesting.

  • How many women did the "advanced" Europeans burn alive at the stake?

How many "heretics" were tortured and killed because they were freethinkers in a European culture that rejected anything besides Christian orthodoxy?

The Aztecs were obsessed with giving The Creator the best of themselves, including their own blood. Whereas Europeans were obsessed with using other people's technology (China, Middle East) and torturing their own people for amusement or religious fanaticism.

  • i think the history channel got their degree from the university of phoenix online.

  • 9:21 What Does She Mean No Wheel The Aztec Calendar Is Round Like Wheels Idiot. You Don't Know Shit About The.

    "Beautiful Aztec Culture"

  • Wow, way to start out a documentary with a steriotypical example of what people think human sacrifice was. Most of the time it was a captured enemy warrior, a slave, or a volunteer. Yes, a volunteer. People actually did want to be sacrificed sometimes. Forget the Hollywood bullshit of a screaming young virgin dragged up to a temple and slaughtered. Shit like that didn't usually happen with the Aztec.

  • oi que tenochtitlan tenia mas canales que venecia

  • How romantico. We should skin princesses at their weddings. then we would have a great civilization again. Perhaps if same sex marriage can be made legal we could skin them. It as so progressive to skin people at weddings, so civilized. I miss the Aztecs.

  • VIVA MI RAZA!!!! yo soy 100% capitalino y 100% del centro donde nació esta grandiosa civilizacion!

  • The act of human sacrifice is still carried out in several cults and religions. But nowadays it's very hush-hush.

BTW, 99% of those dispatched by the Aztec knife were prisoners of war. That's why they had the yearly 'Flowery Wars', so they could snatch enemy warriors to feed their sun/war god.

The other 1% were ceremonial sacrifices, and people actually VOLUNTEERED. Under royal sponsorship, they lived in luxury and fornication for 1 year (before Ugly Day).

  • I don't know if the rituals are true. In the case, so sweet that Aztecs disappeared forever!

  • fabbio people still killing people

  • it's amazing what people can do when they BELIEVE in something so much, whether it's God, and idol, or money, or whatever.

  • impressive civilization...too bad they shared with many other great societies religious fanaticism...what a shame ...gods..... the enemy of man ..in behalf of all the more peaceful tribes that were enslaved and murdered by the aztecs....good riddance

  • theyd did her greasy

  • cool,Tribute To The Incas,check on my channel .

  • what most intrigues me about this culture is what we dont know about what they knew. I mean, they knew things about the world, nature, the human spirit, astronomy, and many other things, that we will probably never know because we are caught up in a material world and are becoming more closed minded. ancient cultures are interesting because each one has a little bit of knowledge that we do not have in our technologically advanced culture/age...

  • Great civilization. In response to others, the Aztecs were not savages, although they did horrible things: sacrifices, war for slaves, etc. We should not look down upon them as we do not look down upon Rome, Ancient Egypt, the Hittites, etc. We should marvel at all the ancient cultures of mesoamerica and mesopotamia. We are them, white, black, yellow, red, all of us. It is our world culture and it is beautiful and horrible all at the same time. "Infotainment" aside, this a good doc.

  • this so true on so many levels

  • I agree, advanced technology in our society does not prove evolution as some people would like to think.

  • why did they build over the ruins?!?!?!

  • @BARCACROSSESTHEALPS that was awesome. couldnt have said it better myself :P i feel exactly the same way. everyone says how terrible the sacrificing aztecs were, but we forget Europeans did a lot of horrible stuff to. and hey also had some pretty weird beliefs. they killed jews during the plague because they thought jews were poisoning the wells. i love this series, one of my major influences as a kid XD

  • @BARCACROSSESTHEALPS Aztecs like Spartans were savage and cultish.

  • @bonfirejovi Just because you call it savage, doesn't mean it is. They were sacrificing because they thought otherwise the universe would cease to exist. And the Spartans were noble and brave. You are an idiot to believe otherwise.

  • @BARCACROSSESTHEALPS well said sir

  • You have no idea how grateful I am for your posting this AMAZING video!!!

    Muchisimas gracias. :D:D:D

  • Your stupid, other cultures had their beliefs and so did the Aztecs. They sacrificed her as an honor to worship Xipe Totec, the god of the blacksmiths as well as the corn. This included flaying her and wearing her skin. Would that scare us? Yes. But to them, it was just a religious practice that they took seriously. If they didn't practice human sacrifice, then they would have been a nearly perfect civilization, but like other cultures, they too had their downside.

  • @darksantos1 your theory is bullshit kraker.

  • Great video. I myself am astonished at the remarable progress the Aztecs made and how succesful and a powerful empire they became! They were probably a more powerful empire then the Romans (although the Roman empire was a grand empire as well). Long live the aztec people and the people that love and support the aztec heritage as well!

  • Don't talk about my ancestors, white people!

  • Bravo ! you sound like a very intelligent person!

  • @darkrock94 you jealous kraker we know whats up.

  • @darkrock94 Any person with Native American ancestry in central and south America more than likely has either Aztec, Mayan or Inca (and others not named) ancestry anyway, and all of these Native American tribes built amazing structures for their time, had advanced mathematical systems even more advanced than Europeans at the time (Maya had concept of 0 roughly 800 years before Europeans), etc. etc.

Go watch "Engineering an Empire - The Maya"

  • You bring great shame to me and other Mexicans. You should embrace the fact that there are other people actually INTERESTED in our past. Just as the Aztecs welcomed the Spanish, you should welcome the thoughts of others.........

    Nuff said

  • And people call vikings monsters?..

  • That doesn't sound extreme to me. I would do that today if it was legal.

  • lol

  • thankyou for sharing great documentary

  • What Devil!?

  • Imperium hoc est peregrinum ad mundum Occidentalem. Numquam ad gloriam Romanorum Graecorumque contentabunt.

  • We don't understand dead languages, sir.

  • dont be ignorant! people have the right to speak what ever language they want without being targeted or shunned down! extinct language or not its still a language! At least the person knows a language that you dont know!

  • That would be latin right?

something about the glory and superiority of the roman empire?

  • O.o?!

  • what ?

  • This is totally amazing, thankyou for posting it...thankyou very much.
