It is his land people. He can do what he wants. This was better than what some people would do. Like sabotage with a chainsaw. People out there are nuts, you buy land and they think they can hunt it. It takes some balls to build a stand on someone else's property. That being said it looks pretty old. I know many with hunting property and its a constant battle to keep others out. I have had friends who have had guns pulled on them on their own property.
