  • if u create an animations series with the same symbols but close flash to like go to bed or something open it up how do u get your symbols back?

  • So long as you save your animation before you go to bed then all the symbols you've created and any animations nested within them should be as you left them. If there are no symbols on the stage then they should be in the library window, ready to be dragged onto the stage or added with Actionscript. Remember that symbols in the library are saved directly to the flash file that you are working with, and aren't normally accessible by other flash files.

  • ok i got that but what if u want to create another animation with those same symbols how do i load the same symbols into a new animation

  • It's not something I've ever had to do. I expect there is some kind of import from fla option somewhere but I can't really say any more than that.

  • k thnx for ur help tho

  • I wish my teachers would explain things as methodically as you do. Thank you so much for demonstrating Flash with step by step instructions.

  • how do you get back to the animation bit after you've created the symbol?? I'm confused :/

  • I don't suppose you help students in a chat environment by any chance do you? :)

  • Sadly not, though I would be open to suggestions or requests for specific tutorial topics. The last request video I made covered PreLoaders and has proved very popular, so I'm keen to tackle more specific problems people are having, even if it does mean breaking from my planned course of videos.

  • That is nice of you to even consider it, thank you. I'll look through the rest of your tutorials and if I find a topic related to Flash that is giving me trouble, that you've not yet covered, I'll post a message about it. Thank you again....

    Sincerely,

    Heather

  • Hi James,

This video in particular was very helpful. I ran into a bump in the road on one of my homework assignments and was becoming frustrated beyond belief. This video helped me a lot, thank you. :)

  • You're welcome!
