@dldavidlaughlin You don't have to read a specific book to know that universalism is unbiblical. Wow, I don't even know what to say to this video response. You are not very intelligent or maybe you are simply ignorant. I am not hating and I am only trying to state the facts. You haven't read this book, you don't understand the premise or logic of his views. You simply take a drive by approach to YOUR understanding of Christian Theology! What makes your understanding of theology correct and Rob Bells wrong? Have you talked to Jesus personally? did he give you the thumbs up? So Sad!
Rev 9:18 By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone..
Rev 9:20-21 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
What do I think? I think that if you turned in a paper to your professor about an argument based on a book that you hadn't even read, then you would get an F on said paper. Why then would you present an argument here about a book that you have not read? This is the problem with many of my brothers and sisters in Christ today and with nonbelievers as well! No one wants to research before they form an opinion!
saying then by all means fire away with your hate speeches and use your religion like a club against me. I dont really care. What matters is that the truth is told. And the truth is that Rob Bell;s beliefs are squirley at best and damaging spiritually at worst. I knew he would take this path way back in the Velvis Elvis and "Sex god" days. I have de-capitalized the word "god" in "sex god" because that book dishonors God
Anyways, the Bible makes it clear that in the last days, which are now, that many will DEPART from the faith and be given over to strong delusions and doctrines of demons. Also I have argued with many religious leaders about many issues that they just choose to blindly believe that go so contrary to what their Bibles say. I have been railed on by many religious leaders, down to the best, and its always the exact same spirit at work through them. So if anyone on here takes offense at what I am
I have read "Velvet Alvis" "Sex God", etc. Have listened to many of Rob Bell's sermons, materials, Nooma videos... I have read the book(love wins) and what the woman in this video is saying is right on and correct. Did you know that the Bible calls us to a lot of times go AGAINST our lusts(desires). AND "97lumberjack" just because you dont like the truth doesnt make those saying the truth Pharasee's. I believe that its become popular to call anyone a "Pharasee" now a days, even if they arent one
I bought Velvet Elvis and read the first couple couple pages and had to stop because some of the things he says I do not agree with. I feel as though his points are more worldly and that's not what the christian faith is supposed to be. We are supposed to be far from it.
What he wrote about the bible was one things i totally disagreed with. He said that when we read the bible we need to have someone that is spiritually further along then you to be interpreting it. He does not believe in reading the bible on your own... I do not believe we have to have someone sitting next to us explaining everything and walking us through. I think when we read the bible and allow the holy spirit to touch us and move in us, we can understand and use it in our lives.
I agree with this video. In this time period its so important for people to read their bibles and use it as a filter for pastors say. People are faulty. the only thing that one can truly rely on is the bible.
So, you're go by what you have heard about him and haven't read that book... you have NO right so say anything miss. besides bball1989 remake of Rob's video is a whole lot better.. maybe you should check that out.
i'm a christian and i believe 100% in jesus christ and the bible, but the fact you attack a book you haven't read and basically make you're whole argument based off what you've heard from it makes everything you say completely invalid. know what you talk about before you talk about it.
its interesting to see how many people are so upset about the idea that they might not be the only ones to get a nice afterlife in the way that they want. wow pretentious
Yeah, sweetie, at least have the decency to read the book before you attack it. You don't actually say anything in this video. "I agree with that guy! Yeah! Look at me! I heard Rob say some stuff that's wrong! And he's popular! OMG! Can you believe that guy?" If you're going to argue something, please make it more than 1:40 of you saying, "Yeah! What he said!"
Rob Bell agrees that free will thing means we don't have to go to Heaven. Bell says that God's Love is so great that he lets us choose Hell and get what we want. He says if we choose the rejection of God we get it. Hes simply asking do we no longer have free will after death. Do we no longer have a choice to choose God? Do we have a 70 year limit to choose God or can we choose God after we depart from the flesh. Its adviseable to read a book before you declare someone not preaching the Gospel
Hey sister... I actually really love what you're saying. The content of this video post is awesome. It would be so cool if you would get into the scripture and debunk his claims line by line... then it wouldn't seem like you just had a bad day and wanted to slam him... but rather... it would become like a conversation between you and he... in which you would win!!! ....which of course you would, since God's Word will never pass away and ALWAYS wins. :) I pray u keep that fire for the truth!
I just still can't get over it...posting a video on something you haven't even taken the time to research! Someone thought it was funny...I just think it's "disgusting", as you put it.
First of all, where does the bible say we have free will? God is working ALL things according to His own will! And another, haven't read the book?! My goodness...I don't even know what to say about that.
66:15 For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
Isa 66:16 For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many......
Isa 66:18 For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.
YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOK?!?!?!?! Why the heck are you bothering with this then, when you have NO IDEA what he's said-- only what you've heard from other people , many of whom have been grossly misrepresenting Bell's work?!? The libraries all have copies now. For Heaven's sake go read it and have at least an educated opinion from which to begin!
Open your heart and let the God of love in...the real living God. Not the God created by man, but the God that created man and wants all men to come to know Him as Lord. Stop the hate. That's not in the bible Missy.
iHisBeloved: What did English ever do to you to deserve what you just did to it? And as for Rob Bell, I don't think you'd win a theological debate with him, I am an atheist, but, I can make just a strong case for universalism, and for calvinism, and for unitarianism, and for trinitarianism. It all depends on which verses you give more weight to and how you reconcile those verses to the ones that could be taken as contradictory. But please, give me a case for your brand of Christianity.
Allright guys, you are not interpretate the bible, you are beliefing word for word and do not look to the context: Jesus said: "Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me and where I am thither ye cannot come...(St. John 7,34)
What means that? Does God spoke to us? Ultimatum, no questions, we beliefe that. No, we have to read the bible in its context, have to discuss difficult passages, does Jesus speaks in allegory or to whom he speaks?
I think you are listen to your pastors construction, aren't you? But only because you like his meaning? Have you read "Love wins"? Otherwise it makes no sense to discuss about, because we will argue to the end of times, without basement.... Everyone who has a theological exception, pls post. But pls don't adjudge without reading the book.I hope gods love really wins about this diskussion, Greetings....
Is it wrong to think about different bible interpretations? Are you aware that god speaks trough people and preachers who also has a focus on the bible ? or do you think he can only speak trough the bible in your silent room and your interpretation is the own truth? Rob Bell is not my god, only jesus christ, but I am aware of discuss my own bible comprehension, and therefore I need help from other people.
And read the book! I have done that and I am not sure about "universalism", but Rob Bell also. But his preaching inspired me to beliefe that gods love is greater than my brain and it motivated me to preach the gospel more than ever... Be Blessed and search for the truth! Greetings from Europe!
Hey "ihisbeloved", I think your advance is irresponsible. You haven't read the book, but preaching other people your own truth, about a complex theological discussion. And it seems for me that you have the demand on truth. Where is the gospel in your statement? Rob Bells book exactly means that situation. Are you really asking for the truth, do you think God is greater than your knowledge? Ask god and listen to other people, to get the truth.
@TheBK160 Looks like Rob Bell's book is your bible and Rob Bell is your god. Too bad, the holy bible is actually true rather than the product of a man's imagination.
You adjudge fast and hard, I've said that I'm looking for the truth . The book inspired me to preach (live) the gospel. Is this wrong motivation? Also to think about medieval interpretations of the bible.(I like agente180s comment)and I await that God is speaking today to myself trough the bible but not at all, also trough his holy ghost, trough other peoples and teachers among other things rob bells thoughts about the bible interpretation.
@TheBK160 "Medieval interpretations"? I guess then that all of the passages that talk about God's love and mercy are "Medieval interpretations" as well? Sorry but God isn't speaking through Rob Bell. You know how I know this? Because what Rob Bell says doesn't match up with what God says. The bible doesn't tell us to "interpret it" it says to read it.
That's a missunderstanding, RBs Book do not resume medieval interpret. of the bible, I mean (also look at agente180s comment) that Bell demonstrates in certain passages that these interpretations were assumed in traditions which influences our bible understanding today and thats dangerous, you are right. He encourages the readers to check their own pictures they have about heaven and hell, because these pictures are often affected by traditions and not on the fundament of the bible..
@TheBK160 Wrong. The real issue is that the bible does not teach that every single person will be saved. Just becausae someone ascribes a label of "medieval interpretations" doesn't mean that it's true. You are presuposing that they are "medieval interpretations". If people were all eventually going to be saved then why aren't there any clear passages saying so?
@N2truth7 You don't understand what i want to say in my last posts. I not wrote that Rob Bell ascribes medieval interpretations as the truth, no he uses this medieval and later interpretations of our society (example: pictures from hell in our minds, that were not described in the bible, but imagined by people) to explain that they are not biblical but influences our beliefe in god badly. And Rob Bell ask questions about universalism and other interesting themes, but he doesn't claim the truth..

@TheBK160 Whatever the images of Hell are, the fact remains that it is going to be an aweful situation for those who are there. Jesus never described it as anything other than something bad.
Now, if Rob Bell doesn't have any answwers then he has no business writing a book on the subject and making absolute assertions about the subject either.
Given time more people will discover that many of our medieval interpretations didn't reflect what the original biblical text meant. Rob just found that earlier and remains courageous. And not alone.
"It's our job to call this guy out"...are you serious? Where in the Christian faith does it suggest that we are to call people out? Read the book and stop "calling people out" cause that's most certainly not your place to do so.
@mattymfskmayhem Actually it IS our place to call Rob Bell out and I wouldn't expect any of his biblically illiterate followers to know this. Try reading 1 Cor.5:9-13 where Paul points out the christians DO judge those inside the church.
@cqqrzgth Paul also says "Prove everything. Hold fast that which is good." (1Thess 5:21). The problem with this woman is that she hasn't even bothered to read the book. How can she PROVE anything to be GOOD or not without reading it? She can't compare her beliefs to Love Wins unless she READS Love Wins. She is skipping over the critical thought Paul suggests, she is slow to listen and quick to speak rather than "quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry" (James 1:19).
@ericahlovell It doesn't matter because 1. Bell has been teaching this heretical crap for years and 2. Everyone knows what's in it now. Having to read this book to know what's in it is like saying that every person needs to sniff a turd to know it stinks.
You keep saying "Gospel of Christ", "True Gospel", etc..., well how do you know you have the right gospel? Is it because of Orthodox Christianity and the assumption that what has been passed down to you IS truly what Christ taught? Deception was creeping into the church during the times of the Apostles. Don't assume what you have is untarnished. Odds are that mainstream Christian teaching, just like mainstream Jewish teaching during Christ's time, has been infiltrated and corrupted.
Instead of worrying about a nice guy like Rob Bell. Why don't you try opening up a science book, and picking on a guy like Charles Darwin that has debunked not only your Christian religion but all religions in general. And try researching scholarship on how Christianity was invented in the first place. You have one life and you are waisting it with your silly, childish believes. Christianity will die, but love wins!
@mcarbone80 Evolution most certainly does not debunk religion. It constitutes more findings concerning HOW the world came to be the way it is. Religion attempts to answer WHY the world came to be the way it is: a radically different question. Belief in no ultimate REASON, or "god", is, as one smart fellow put it (go Rob Bell!), just another kind of god. And if you consider a life spent loving others as Jesus did (no matter what you think about him) to be wasted...that's your issue.
@kdstylemusic Science is based off of evidence, religion is based on authority, superstition, dogma, and mythology. Evolution does debunk religion because it shows that life was not a single creation, but a slow gradual process. And if god created it through the big bang and evolution why did he forget to mention that in the holy books? We should spend our lives loving each other anyway, you don't need the Jesus myth to do that.

I understand your concern for the welfare and salvation of souls. Please consider the benefits though in actually reading the book you are criticizing: 1) you will not repeat second hand errors, 2) no lawyer would dream of going into court without personally analyzing the evidence, and 3) you may discover hidden merits in what you are examining. You may even conclude the other side has a case! God Bless you.
What happens when you die? Have you told lies, stolen, used God's name in vain(10 Commandments)? If yes, then you're a liar, thief, and a blasphemer in the sight of God. When you die & be judged by God, you'll be guilty of sin, & go to Hell! But God sent His Son Jesus to shed His blood & die on a cross for your sins, He was buried & rose again from the dead on the third day. If you'll believe the Gospel(Jesus died for your sins, was buried & resurrected)you'll not perish & have eternal life
This woman is really quite frightening . Seriously, switch to full screen, then click play-pause-play-pause to catch a freeze-frame. Then turn the lights out!
Bell's problem is that he doesn't care what the word of God says. It's easy to see. Almost every verse he uses in his book is taken out of context and made to say something God never intended the verse to say. If you'd like to read a review that shows Bells errors and the deception behind his work, visit... Hells Bell Dot..... Net
You are so right, it is not the God that Christrians believe. It just so happens to be the true Gospel. You can have your God of Eternal Torment in Hell fire honey! OH and come on, at least read the book! really....................
i really enjoyed your standpoint. Thanks for defending your position with sound, clear arguments, instead of talking about nothing without and validity..wait that is what you did.
Really your going to sit her and bash on someone and their work, but you haven't even read it. People wonder why the world is in shambles, and there is so much corruption. It is because no one does any research to their own questions. They merely go by word of mouth, and or Fox news. My advice to you in the future if your going to criticize someone atleast do some research, and for the record I am not a follower of Rob Bell nor any religious group. This video is just ridiculous.
Way to speak out sister! I am pretty fed up with Rob Bell! He is encouraging sin! I seen this in many of his videos! I like what you said about Rob being a pastor! We should see what Peter calls pastors to do as His servants! God Bless you sister for calling this false prophet out! :D
this man is consistent with the fullness of Armenian understandings. Thats why the reformed has been trying to reach these people for hundreds of years. WE HAVE to get to the basics of the teachings of Grace.
@nteddyb 1 Cor.13 is about spritual gifts. It has nothing to do with "love wins". The bible teaches that Christ won. He triumphed over death so that THOSE WHO BELIEVE will be redeemed.
@ComoEstas15 You should get Dr.Day's phone number, that way she can tell you what to think over the phone instead of you having to read her website. Then you can say "yes ma'am" to her.
@ComoEstas15 As I said, Hell is the secondary issue because the bible doesn't teach that every single person in all of existence will be saved and unless you can prove otherwise then your denial of Hell is also a moot point.
@ComoEstas15 You see, merely muttering an ignorant statement doesn't make it true and it doesn't answer the scriptures either. But...dodging questions is about all you can do.
@ComoEstas15 See, the doctrine of Hell is really the sequitur because you have to be able to demonstrate from scripture that every single person in all of existence will be saved. For example. Revelation 5 says that Jesus redeemed the believers OUT OF every tribe, tongue and nation. Notice the words "out of"? It doesn't say that He redeemed "every tribe, tongue and nation".
@ComoEstas15 It doesn't matter because the scriptures were written in greek and hebrew. The septuigant was the widely used scripture in Jesus day.
You should probably go scour Loraine's website to get your information. Perhaps she has a handbook on universalism with some recipes for fat free salad dressing for you too.
@ComoEstas15 Actully Jesus spoke about it and so did the disciples and so did the church fathers. If you'd like to get schooled on this again, I'd be happy to. The problem is that you are ignorant and severly uninformned.
@ComoEstas15 Well one need only look at the history of your comments on Youtube to see who the hypocrite is. I must say, you have some pretty choice language there.
@ComoEstas15 Universalists are really some of the biggest liars masquerading as christians because they lie to lost people and give them false assurance. So while they may seem "loving" on the outside, inwardly they are ravenous wolves. I don't see any love in people who preach the devil's message.
@ComoEstas15 I have researched. Follow your own advice hypocrite. Perhaps one day you'll think for yourself. Does Dr. Day and Gary whatever tell you what to eat for breakfast?
@ComoEstas15 Really? Which parts got "mis translated" and from which manuscripts did these come from? Codex Vaticanus? Codex Sinaiticus? Textus Recptus? Latin Vulgate? Masoretic?
"All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work." -2 Timothy 3:16,17
@ComoEstas15 What you sent me was the words of the men (and women) who you follow and trust in. But as I said, the scriptures are not fit in the hands of a fool.
@ComoEstas15 I wanted to begin with scripture but you chose to appeal to the history that has been fed to you and I appealed to actual quotes from history that predate your ideas.
@ComoEstas15 No we don't both have "valid" points. You parrot what you're told to think and I read the bible. That's that book that you can't make your case from.
@ComoEstas15 As I said, you're not interested in the bible and what it says, you're interested in the words of men and making God's word in subjection to what Dr. So & So tells you.
@ComoEstas15 Yea, basially you're telling be about the fine art of boxing and instead of showing me, you're telling me to go get in the ring with someone else. I don't give a crap about some guy that tells you what to think, I'm interested in you demonstrating that you actually know what you're talking about.
@ComoEstas15 This really demonstrates your poor brain function. I've already told you 3 times that I blocked you and cannot receive any messages from you yet you still send them. I have shown you quotes from the earliest church fathers and even posed problems from scripture to you and you still beat your head against a brick wall. Do you have to repeat the same courses over and over in school?
@ComoEstas15 There's nothing in my inbox because I blocked you. If you're going to be incessantly stupid, it's going to be out in the open, not in private.
Of course you're "bored" it must get tiring being wrong repeatedly.
@ComoEstas15 Yes, you do insult God by implying that He has not preerved His word and that He has not spoken clearly. That's your only option because the scriptures contradict your ideas therefore you have to undermine them.
@ComoEstas15 As I said, since the scriptures contradict you, the only thing you have left to do is to attack their reliabiltiy and insult God's ability to preserve His word. I wouldn't expect you to make your case from scripture.
@ComoEstas15 You should blame your sources because you accept them without verification. That's called foolishness on your part. Don't worry about my grammatical error, it pales in comparisson to your biblical and historical errors.
@ComoEstas15 Here is a quote from Ignatius of Antioch:
Corrupters of families will not inherit the kingdom of God. And if they who do these things according to the flesh suffer death. how much more if a man corrupt by evil reaching the faith of God. for the sake of which Jesus Christ was crucified? A man become so foul will depart into unquenchable fire: and so will anyone who listens to him. (Letter to the Ephesians 16:1-2)
@ComoEstas15 Please give me an example of how the scriptures have been "mistranslated"? Just go ahead and quote me a passage and then tell me which manuscript is the correct one? OK?
@ComoEstas15 I ma narrow minded because I don't recall Jesus ever saying that being "open minded" was a virtue.
The scripture hasn't been "mistranslated" that is just you parroting what the people you follow have said. I am not "callous and cold" because I care enough about people to tell them the truth, unlike people like you who lie to them and give them false assurance.
@ComoEstas15 My view of God is from the information found in the scriptures. If "it's all subjective" then you have no gtounds to agree or disagree with anything anyone says because according to you, there is no truth.
@ComoEstas15 The doctrine of Hell might be a contradiction to the god that you've fashioned in your mind but it is right there in the word of God. I'm sure you can attack God's word and doubt His ability to preserve His word but that doesn't make your point.
@ComoEstas15 See, the only way you can deal with scripture is to attack it and say we don't know what it means. If you don't know what ot means then you have no business telling anyone about God in any way. Just keep your mouth shut and do your school work or play XBOX.
@ComoEstas15 See, here's the faalaciousness of your "thinking" or lack thereof. You see, a person doesn't need to "know everything" in order to know anyhing.
Now, WHY did Jesus say that it would be better for Judas to have NEVER BEEN BORN then for hIm on the day of judgment?
@ComoEstas15 In this thread, it was and as I exoected, you cannot answer it. Instead, you've chosen to assault scripture and man's ability to hear the word of God. That's typical so I'll keep posing the question to you.
@ComoEstas15 The ORIGINAL question was: Why did Jesus say that it would be better if Judas "HAD NEVER BEEN BORN" than it would be for him on the day of judgment? It's a pretty straight up question. I mean if Judas is going to be saved anyway, then certainly any punishment that awaits could not be worse then never being born?
@ComoEstas15 Just because you make the assertion that I "twisted words", doesn't make your point. You can't claim that we can't prove anything" and then turn around and make the assertion that I "twisted words". Either nobody can prove anything or we can prove something, so which is it?
Quote from 1:22 in this video; "I haven't read the book." Enough said.

:) I pray u keep that fire for the truth!

iHisBeloved: What did English ever do to you to deserve what you just did to it? And as for Rob Bell, I don't think you'd win a theological debate with him, I am an atheist, but, I can make just a strong case for universalism, and for calvinism, and for unitarianism, and for trinitarianism. It all depends on which verses you give more weight to and how you reconcile those verses to the ones that could be taken as contradictory. But please, give me a case for your brand of Christianity.
Shaman464 5 months ago
Allright guys, you are not interpretate the bible, you are beliefing word for word and do not look to the context: Jesus said: "Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me and where I am thither ye cannot come...(St. John 7,34)
What means that? Does God spoke to us? Ultimatum, no questions, we beliefe that. No, we have to read the bible in its context, have to discuss difficult passages, does Jesus speaks in allegory or to whom he speaks?
TheBK160 5 months ago
I think you are listen to your pastors construction, aren't you? But only because you like his meaning? Have you read "Love wins"? Otherwise it makes no sense to discuss about, because we will argue to the end of times, without basement.... Everyone who has a theological exception, pls post. But pls don't adjudge without reading the book.I hope gods love really wins about this diskussion, Greetings....
TheBK160 5 months ago
Is it wrong to think about different bible interpretations? Are you aware that god speaks trough people and preachers who also has a focus on the bible ? or do you think he can only speak trough the bible in your silent room and your interpretation is the own truth? Rob Bell is not my god, only jesus christ, but I am aware of discuss my own bible comprehension, and therefore I need help from other people.
TheBK160 5 months ago
And read the book! I have done that and I am not sure about "universalism", but Rob Bell also. But his preaching inspired me to beliefe that gods love is greater than my brain and it motivated me to preach the gospel more than ever... Be Blessed and search for the truth! Greetings from Europe!
TheBK160 5 months ago
Hey "ihisbeloved", I think your advance is irresponsible. You haven't read the book, but preaching other people your own truth, about a complex theological discussion. And it seems for me that you have the demand on truth. Where is the gospel in your statement? Rob Bells book exactly means that situation. Are you really asking for the truth, do you think God is greater than your knowledge? Ask god and listen to other people, to get the truth.
TheBK160 5 months ago
@TheBK160 Looks like Rob Bell's book is your bible and Rob Bell is your god. Too bad, the holy bible is actually true rather than the product of a man's imagination.
spamthemoron 5 months ago
@spamthemoron and all others
TheBK160 5 months ago
@TheBK160 "Medieval interpretations"? I guess then that all of the passages that talk about God's love and mercy are "Medieval interpretations" as well? Sorry but God isn't speaking through Rob Bell. You know how I know this? Because what Rob Bell says doesn't match up with what God says. The bible doesn't tell us to "interpret it" it says to read it.
N2truth7 5 months ago
@N2truth7
TheBK160 5 months ago
@TheBK160 Wrong. The real issue is that the bible does not teach that every single person will be saved. Just becausae someone ascribes a label of "medieval interpretations" doesn't mean that it's true. You are presuposing that they are "medieval interpretations". If people were all eventually going to be saved then why aren't there any clear passages saying so?
N2truth7 5 months ago
@N2truth7 You don't understand what i want to say in my last posts. I not wrote that Rob Bell ascribes medieval interpretations as the truth, no he uses this medieval and later interpretations of our society (example: pictures from hell in our minds, that were not described in the bible, but imagined by people) to explain that they are not biblical but influences our beliefe in god badly. And Rob Bell ask questions about universalism and other interesting themes, but he doesn't claim the truth..
TheBK160 5 months ago

@TheBK160 Whatever the images of Hell are, the fact remains that it is going to be an aweful situation for those who are there. Jesus never described it as anything other than something bad.
Now, if Rob Bell doesn't have any answwers then he has no business writing a book on the subject and making absolute assertions about the subject either.

@mattymfskmayhem Actually it IS our place to call Rob Bell out and I wouldn't expect any of his biblically illiterate followers to know this. Try reading 1 Cor.5:9-13 where Paul points out the christians DO judge those inside the church.
cqqrzgth 6 months ago
@cqqrzgth Paul also says "Prove everything. Hold fast that which is good." (1Thess 5:21). The problem with this woman is that she hasn't even bothered to read the book. How can she PROVE anything to be GOOD or not without reading it? She can't compare her beliefs to Love Wins unless she READS Love Wins. She is skipping over the critical thought Paul suggests, she is slow to listen and quick to speak rather than "quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry" (James 1:19).

@cqqrzgth P.s. I haven't read the book either, which is why I'm not sharing an opinion or position on it. ;)

@ericahlovell It doesn't matter because 1. Bell has been teaching this heretical crap for years and 2. Everyone knows what's in it now. Having to read this book to know what's in it is like saying that every person needs to sniff a turd to know it stinks.
cqqrzgth 3 months ago
You keep saying "Gospel of Christ", "True Gospel", etc..., well how do you know you have the right gospel? Is it because of Orthodox Christianity and the assumption that what has been passed down to you IS truly what Christ taught? Deception was creeping into the church during the times of the Apostles. Don't assume what you have is untarnished. Odds are that mainstream Christian teaching, just like mainstream Jewish teaching during Christ's time, has been infiltrated and corrupted.
AioniosGlow 6 months ago
Instead of worrying about a nice guy like Rob Bell. Why don't you try opening up a science book, and picking on a guy like Charles Darwin that has debunked not only your Christian religion but all religions in general. And try researching scholarship on how Christianity was invented in the first place. You have one life and you are waisting it with your silly, childish believes. Christianity will die, but love wins!
mcarbone80 6 months ago
@mcarbone80 Evolution most certainly does not debunk religion. It constitutes more findings concerning HOW the world came to be the way it is. Religion attempts to answer WHY the world came to be the way it is: a radically different question. Belief in no ultimate REASON, or "god", is, as one smart fellow put it (go Rob Bell!), just another kind of god. And if you consider a life spent loving others as Jesus did (no matter what you think about him) to be wasted...that's your issue.
kdstylemusic 5 months ago

If you'll believe the Gospel(Jesus died for your sins, was buried & resurrected)you'll not perish & have eternal life

gtrjunky 9 months ago
@ComoEstas15 See, the doctrine of Hell is really the sequitur because you have to be able to demonstrate from scripture that every single person in all of existence will be saved. For example. Revelation 5 says that Jesus redeemed the believers OUT OF every tribe, tongue and nation. Notice the words "out of"? It doesn't say that He redeemed "every tribe, tongue and nation".

@ComoEstas15 Hell is present in the "original..." it's just that you're parroting what they say on the websites that inform you.
If Hell were not real then Jesus would have never said that it would have been better if Judas would have never been born.

@ComoEstas15 The doctrine of Hell might be a contradiction to the god that you've fashioned in your mind but it is right there in the word of God. I'm sure you can attack God's word and doubt His ability to preserve His word but that doesn't make your point.

@ComoEstas15 Thus far all you've done is present scriptures ripped out of context in typical universalist fashion.

@ComoEstas15 See, the only way you can deal with scripture is to attack it and say we don't know what it means. If you don't know what ot means then you have no business telling anyone about God in any way. Just keep your mouth shut and do your school work or play XBOX.

@ComoEstas15 If unrepentant people are paid for by Jesus too, then why do they need "correction" in the after life?

Either nobody can prove anything or we can prove something, so which is it?
gtrjunky 9 months ago
@ComoEstas15 What did I twist? I mean you just said that "we can't prove anything" then how do you know I "twisted" anything?
