It's weird: in the theater that I was at, the part that got the most kids worried wasn't when the beldam comes after her in that big web. It was when she set up the pillows to look like her parents, then fell asleep crying.

Kids are smart; they know that losing your parents would be much more painful than having buttons sewn on your eyes.

I don't think it's smartness, but innocence instead. Through the eyes of a child, it's much worse to lose their parents than having your eyes sewn, for parents play a huge part on a child's life... Or they simply aren't teached what's good or bad anymore, at least not at the rate of years ago. =( Not that losing parents isn't bad, but if someone doesn't teach a child that inflicting pain on others is bad, it'll never feel phased if it ever get into a fight, for example.

The End (in my opinion) builds up for a sequel but I agree that the Coraline movie is fine as it is and I can´t wait until it gets released on DVD :)

Yeah. The only thing I could think of for a sequel is if those pin hands of the witches magically stuck themselves back together, got the key and went back to the witch. But that's pretty much impossible anyway because you hear the witch say when Coraline escapes "noo!!! I'll die without you!!" So I think this movie and the book is perfectly fine as is.

it is but with a change in instrument usage... this reoccuring melody is sort of like a theme for Coraline her self... 'Alone' shows her loneliness or sadness like the begining of this song and 'Exploration' is a little lighter and plucky to show her SLIGHT enthusiasm in getting to explore... really though I just love that consistant melody... pulls all the other songs together and it just sounds so nice :)
