  • Best song I've heard in a really long time! In love with the lyrics!

  • Well, all kinds people are represented in wrong ways.“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.” People in general are full of it these days. Keep Reppin yourself

  • Love. :) Those who dislike this need a massive dislike button attached to their heads so they can be aware of the fact that no one likes a misogynist.

  • me gusta :)

  • Good stuff, and well said!

Not sure how some people dis-like this,

you have a very valid point :D

  • Awesome!

  • Fantastic!

  • thanks soo much for this ! it's an amazing song :) the lyrics are so accurate for me :)

  • i've been listening to this all day today :) thank you so much!!

  • You might get a lot of hateful comments about this song. So hang tough :) This song is great! Thanks for expressing the way my friends and I feel.

  • @jiujitsugirl27030 You're not the only one; I'm sick of mainstream garbage and talking-head news staff trying to reinvent themselves as reality stars.

  • This is amazing. Holy freakin shit. I think I'm gonna be jamming out to this pretty often. Can haz download? :)

  • <3 ___________ <3 !!!

  • Nice work!

  • IGNORE DA H8RS, YOU GO GURL

  • I love this song, well done. You're amazing.

  • Thank you for this.

  • This song is perfect.

  • Wow, I'm so glad Michelle Rodriguez decided to begin a music career. She really sucks in movies.

  • THIS IS AWESOME!! Keep fighting the haters out there, because there are women out there who appreciate what you do and look up to your courage and confidence. Someday the male privilege will be lessened in our society. Someday...

  • Congratulations for putting into words and then into a beautiful, catchy song what the rest of us have been dying to scream from the rooftops. Youtube is just as good a rooftop to scream it from. Thank you.

  • You are AWESOME!!!!! should be included in Missrep 2 ;-) keep it up!

  • This is amazing!

The sad thing is that at the beginning I thought this was about overall society's general view on women, not the media's.

  • Thank you for your wonderful girl power ukuelele anthem <3

  • You are fantastic!! WONDERFUL song in response to a really great film, 'Miss Representation' . I wish the people who hit the 'dislike' button would educate themselves on this issue first before spreading more hate and ignorance around the world. Thank you for posting this video, keep it up!!

  • Girl, I'm so impressed. Wonderful job. Love your voice, love the words. Don't ever take this down off of Youtube!

  • I wish there was a love button for this because it deserves all of the love in the world. It shows the world that women aren't crazy or irrational or just a sex toy. It's also raising awareness of the equality issues that many of us females suffer from in the world. <3 <3 <3 it needs a love button.

  • Well said & bravo for standing up and saying it! The surge of sexist comments this video has received only reinforces how badly this song is needed. Typical reaction from the ignorant and bigoted who live in terror of losing the status quo that privileges them at the expense of all others. This is the animosity that anyone who pushes for equality faces- don't be discouraged! You've hit a nerve and they're running scared. :)

  • What the fuck is with this like bar? I think this song is adorable and really well done! I love your voice! Great response.

  • Excellent! Well-said, and so talented to respond in this manner. I love this! How uplifting and inspirational.

  • This is fantastic! Keep it up. Keep the faith.

  • Great response to the media. I appreciate this as a mother and a woman. Thank you!

  • @Petratzius Hullo troll, nice to meet you.

  • @UnconventionalAqua Nice to meet you too. Old people burning, old people burning.

  • Very good song about the misrepresentation of women in the media :-)

  • Perhaps you should study a math/science if you want to change our society's image of females, instead of complaining on the internet. Inequality will go away not when its sung about, but when people work to change it.

  • @kahlaflowerear24 By expressing herself and making people think, she's already creating the potential for change. And Megara is right: You have no idea whether she is actually an activist with a law degree (or math/science degree) in real life.

  • @kahlaflowerear24 I agree with the other comments that have been sent your way in response. By posting a video like this, she is raising awareness and positively reaching out to other women and girls, which can only ever be a good thing. I was positively influenced by this, as I always am uplifted by the enduring fact that there are, in fact, women out there who are just as fed up with the insidiously stubborn persistence of sexism in our society as I am.

  • @MrCdobbin It's a commentary about women as a whole. We still live in a very sexist/judgmental society(just read the rest of the comments) - this is in no way JUST about her.

  • It's unbelievable how quickly this got hijacked by a bunch of trolls who got all their idiot friends to dislike the video and leave repulsively stupid, ignorant comments. That's what's crazy.

  • /b/

  • Don't listen to these haters, they are obviously threatened by anything that challenges their male supremacist world view.

  • Your song is amazing, you are amazing. I love your message!

  • It breaks my heart that here you are doing something positive, creative and inspiring and yet there is just another huge lot of assholes commenting, talking shit and bringing it all back to your looks. You are lovely. Keep it up. Hugs!

  • Funny how all the detracting comments are from men, who do themselves no favours by continuing to let the world know just how uneducated, ineloquent and scared they are.

  • @MissPepperberry sexist.

  • @irlegendz You think she's fat, what the hell do you think is skinny? A sheet of paper? please stop judging.

  • @irlegendz Also, judging women (or anyone!) by how they look ANYWAY is ignorant. It appears you tried to make a witty comment in response to the first stanza and failed.

  • @TheHexeract 1 in 6 American girls and women will be raped in their lifetimes, something this woman didn't bother to "complain" about.

We are still very much living in a patriarchal world where still, in the U.S. we haven't had a female president. 83% of our congress is men. And if you'd like to educate yourself you'd find that those very issues that you complained about are issues that are intertwined with feminist goals and values. Thus, you should be a feminist.

  • @nemidoonam89 Also, I tried to put in some links for educational purposes, but youtube wouldn't let me. Please look up The Girl Effect, the Miss Representation Trailer on Vimeo, and also Rape Victim Statistics in America. It's not a coincidence that we have a media that objectifies and sexualizes women to the point that more than 80% of girls today will develop a body image disorder, and that we have an extremely high incidence of rape in this country. Think about it.

  • @nemidoonam89 we havent had a female president because sarah palin is an idiot (not because she's a woman, shes just an idiot) and obama was a better candidate than clinton. we've also never had an asian president, a hispanic one, a indian one (both types) etc. most of our congress is white. Good candidates get elected. Bad ones do too. Sexism doesn't factor into it. Don't believe me? Explain Michelle Bachmann.

  • @MrUbi123 Sexism doesn't factor into it? Are you serious?

  • @goldenlockets yes, yes i am serious. if you want to know why, read the whole comment. I don't think it's racism that we haven't had a hispanic president, I just think it's because there isn't a good enough hispanic candidate right now. same deal with women.

  • @TheHexeract I think you could do the song about men too. I'd like your song as well :) and I aggree that men are under some pressure too to be "a man". But her song is about not being molded by generalist ideas of who she ought to be because she is a woman. It asks for a society where women could be who they are and not who they should be as women - but the principles apply to men too.

  • @allemagn Also, if women do not fight for themselves, the thing is, they are underrepresented in positions of power. And that has lots of consequences on women - and on the world too. I dream of a world where I can have an opinion or taste without being told it's because I'm a woman. And have some other opinions without being told I'm manly. And do some actions without shocking people because I shouldn't, being a woman. And I love guys who feel the same way about themselves (are who they want)

  • Lovely. Thank you so much for this message!

  • Brilliant. Brilliant message. Brilliant plays on words. Well-written song. Great performance. I'm a big fan!

  • I love this. I really do.

  • This is fantastic! Keep kicking butt :-)
