This movie is real masterpiece. Bruce Willis, Brad Pitt, Madeleine Stowe did a great job.Twelve Monkeys is one of most underrated Sci-Fi films of the 90's - along with FutureSport, The Time Shifters, Virtuosity, Tha Lawnmower Man, Alien 3, Space Truckers, Strange Days, The Arrival, Mimic, The Apocalypse (1997), Virus, RoboCop 2, Them, Body Snatchers, eXistenZ, Sphere, Judge Dredd, Demolition Man, Anaconda, The Relic, The Shadow Men, The 13th Floor, Dark City etc
as i read on a smart observers comment earlier,,, brad was not as crazy as you all thought,, he was really trying to do the right thing by freeing the animals,, it was the older generation of baby boomers that brought us here in this oppressed world of sin and have the nerve to flip it and say we're the crazy ones,,,,the intentions were pure and if you dont believe,, watch 12 monkeys to understand the complexities
@jacobjacob87 lol. Brad is a great actor and is in a lot of unique and complex movies. If you watch a lot of action brainless entertainment you will not see him there. Sorry that I admire thoughtfulness.
this is one of the best movies i ever seen and I just love this music, its creepy and you know how the movie is after you heard the music. the movie is fucked up in the psychohospital must i just say
Yeah, the Empire which without Hitler's Germany meant nothing. Empire with weak army, which a*s was beaten all the time. It's ridiculous what u've written. Other thing is, that the person who calls an Empire the country with fascism as a ideological system is mentally ill. If you'd know how many lifes where destroyed because of this ****** ideology, you wouldn't write such a crap.
what is ridicolous? I call it Empire because is an istorical fact. Empire is only a word that indicate a form of political organization, is not "bad" or "good" itself. I'm antifascist, so I hate fascism in all its kinds, but this doesn't change the History: Italy in that years was an Empire, a ridicolous, little Empire.
Please don't teach me about fascism, I know real fascists and I knew all my grandparents who where in troubles during fascism. you don't know nothing about that
You're wrong, I do know a lot about fascism, nazism all those horrible things our families fought against. It also refers to my personal experience, because my family suffered during war as well. Anyway I'm glad to see that you are an anti-fascist.
Getting back to "Empire"- Empire is as you said a form of poitical organization butWITH: strong economics, army, political system(in this case leader). Mussolini's Italy had none except from the leader.Thatswhy I thought that you try to glorify it.Sorry
Dear, I love history and I have to correct you. The empire is a domain composed of several different states or peoples, regardless of economic or military strength. In those years Italy ruled Albania, Libya, the Somalia and Eritrea. Was a colonial empire also recognized by the U.S.. Obviously this does not mean that I glorify fascism, are just facts.
Regarding personal experiences, since I am Italian, my family has suffered not only fascism during the war (my grandfather was a soldier in the army of Mussolini and my family lived in an area occupied by the Germans), but also during the twenty years of Mussolini's government
Ofcourse I agree with you on fact that Italy ruled all those states during those years. But if you call "an empire" Mussolini's Italy, how will you call states of Romans, Mongols, Russians, Ottomans, Turks or the British people. You must agree that all those lands (Roman Empire, Mongol Empire, Russian Empire, Ottoman Empire, British Empire or Napoleon's Empire) deserve this description more than Italy. Comparing to them it's just a large country and that is my point. Empire is not only the area.
Empire is also power and influence on global things. With all respect, I don't think that this influence was that big. If it comes to personal experience again: I'm Russian, my grandfather was Red Army's captain, fought with Nazi's,sadly his troop was captured and he died in Nazi's camp. But back then people suffered due to communists repressions aswell. My point is that the twentieth century(especially first half) was most tragic period in the history of mankind. May it never repeat!
OK, for the first thing it's not me that call "empire" the italy of these years, is an Historical definition, not controversial. Second: I call Romans, Mongols, Russian etc Great Empires, I agree that Italy was a little empire. The point is only the definition: Empire is not the area, but is the power over more than one people. For example German second Reich was not bigger than Italy, do you call it Empire or large country?
Unfortunately I think that Italy has had an influence on global things because of the participation in World War II on the side of Hitler. This influence was not big as influence of Germany, but this is a fact.
Wow, a Red Army's captain! where he fought?
I think Red Army was the greatest army.
I agree with you that twentieth century was very tragic but i'm pessimist about the future...
He became captain after serving in finnish war(1939-1940). Then he moved on the USSR western border (nowadays its eastern Poland). They were first victims of "Barbarossa Plan".After few weeks of June 1941 he was captured and passed away after 2 years spended in German's camp in Zeithein (Eastern Germany).
Well, yeah,it's just the matter of definition. I just wanted to show differences between as you call them Great Empires and Italy. Anyway, was nice to sort this little nuance out:)
This music is one of the things that makes this movie so great. Its so out of place with the whole time travel genre. It really makes the mood feel creepy and that something is not right.
this song always scared the almighty hell out of when i first saw this movie, i was somewhere around 7 years old, it made me think something bad was going to happen
i dont doubt this. We do need population control people! Adopt a fucking child this isnt sustainable. This is a must but dont let them force our responsibilities (as a whole of humanity) on us in crude sneaky manners. Wake up dreamers
imano what's my problem you ask! imagin been locked up with SATAN, it is everywhere it is everybody, it warns you of behavin this way, Iam shadan, i hate imams twelve of them, for meh they monkeys, i created that! nobody can stop me, Iam back agian, or have I been here ever??? what happen to iman, well he is under storm now, survive he always does! appolliyon SATAN is like FIRE, no life should be near! but iman is, AND AM BACK PICTURE ME WHRE I AT!
