I get the design.. I built a bazooka with the same concept, but you have some type of servo motor right?.. do you use the co2 to power that servo.. or the power drill battery ? .. thats alot of work congrats!

@ollenbergerstudios Yes, there are servos that "pop" the cartridges out - but the barrel push forward is a timed pneumatic device (that then pulls back to reseal). The main purpose is to not lose too much gas during the exchange or leak during firing. We've since modified this a bit so it runs off the tank's 12v system, and we've completely removed the on-cannon air tanks. It now attaches to a remote that attaches to air tanks inside the vehicle.

We run at under 100 psi. You'd have to write Emeril for the exact model regulators.

@baconator490 At the time of the build, the only thing allows on a pb field for a cannon was nerf rockets, so that's what it's designed to shoot. We generally shoot around 200-400 nerfs during a 2 day event. They are used to destroy buildings and kill other tanks.

Hi...it *is* an autoloader - 12 rockets in under 20 seconds. The second rear gunner can actually reload it while it's being fired for even more shots. But in reality, most thing we point it at are taken out well within 12 shots (buildings, bunkers, and other tanks).

This was seriously considered, but this cannon is in a paintball tank, so space is very limited. We calculated the tank size required to eliminate recharge issues and it was problematic. Small compressors are also very loud. It would also need to be high volume - which draws a lot of amps. Practically speaking, using air bottles during game play has not been a significant issue.

Sure, but in scenario paintball we need to shoot nerf rockets to count as cannon-fire. We shoot these at other tanks and structures.

blindpopak - sorry, no plans to sell the plans. The difficult part to duplicate is the custom eprom computer controller that activates the electro-pneumatics and times all of the events- that alone cost over $1000.

DBDTradeguy - you should construct some kind of basket/catcher right where the cartridges fall out. that way, you know, less mess.

you could probably find a metal basket at home depot or lowes

When the cannon is installed in the tank, the cartridges eject onto the the front cab roof, and don't really go anywhere. The 2nd rear shoot often will collect these quickly and start reloading. This way we can shoot more than just the 12 loaded in the chutes.

We get 150 yards at 215 fps and 85 psi. We were getting 200 yards at 250 fps and 95 psi. At 150 psi we would probobly get well over 300 yards but we would also be at 350-400 fps.
