  • Of course there is no way two adults could share a single bed.

  • I'd forgotten all about this (well I was 16 when it first came out!) thanks for sharing it's a great song

  • born in 1944 so that makes her only 68 this year! (plenty of time for a comeback Noosha)

and hey, this is 'youtube world' so she remains frozen in time and lovely forever!

  • @petesterkay Her son tweeted a year ago she was working on new material

  • She'd be about 80 now.. Let your imagination run wild with that thought... freaks.. lol

  • she should have done this solo-the band truly looked awful. goofy next to noosha who had so much style- and boy what a voice she had too!

  • She's old-school HOT

  • Ace tune..great times the 70' s...

  • Scotty beam me back to the 70`s..and in her bed ;-)

  • Try it at karaoke.x.

  • Never has playing the guitar looked more like surrogate masturbation : )

  • she's aussie... my mum and her used to be in the same class

  • sss sexy voice and woman

  • Aaaah I remember this one, she has a fantastic voice. Someone should do a cover NOW!!

  • I remember this ... love the outfit and great make up ! :) x

  • Macy Gray needs to hurry up and cover this. She was born to dominate this song.

  • looking at the expression on the blond guys face I think noosha is giving him a wank ( lucky bastard !!!! )

  • A great song and she has such a good voice and she's sexy too!

  • im not being funny but she can keep her single bed id rather have a wank its a good job we all got different tastes. she does have a sexy voice though id like her to shout at me just as im coming

  • all she got is a single bed ? well save up for a double bed then!

  • This sounds like it could be in the charts right now!

  • Thanks so much for posting this old classic, takes me back to times at boarding school, when a song such as this was considered very risque!

  • @MusicBreathesLife Back when u got fucked by the head boy bitch

  • @caytonxavier Sounds as though you are projecting your own experience onto someone else. To each their own, hope it was fun for you.

  • How punchable is that guitarist doing the chewy wah-wah thing?

  • @ilovetiggeranddaisy She's 66 now so I expect she's retired from work. I did hear that a few years ago she was owner of a bar in Australia.

  • @loyalroyal1971

Her real name is Susan Traynor, and she is an Australian by birth. Her website was down when I last checked it and she seems to have dropped out of the music industry. Her whereabouts is unknown.

  • great song to play around the sleazebags who cant get the clear hint..not getting laid tonite mate..haha..

  • I was about 4 n i loved this song so much..shes still awesome......her voice..gorgeous gorgeous..

  • herbie armstrong on guitar, with the big grin, who's just been humiliated by the talentless amanda holden.

  • @moonsault2506123 As in Yellow Dog - One More Night?

  • Actor James McEvoy on keyboards... he hasn't aged at all!

  • @ilovetiggeranddaisy She's Ben Goldacre's mum, apparently

  • very sexy song!

  • Comment removed

  • Thank god I didn`t know what she looked like back then...right hand and other parts were active....Thanks for the memories...

  • when i first heard this i wanted to fuk her then i watched the vid and prefered a wank

  • @doh1959 Hahahaha .. Ya' goof.

  • I like this.

  • The guy on the bass guitar looks like he's in a lot of pain .

    Great tune though.

  • doesnt any one elce notice the man who is constapaited hahahaha

  • Sun Website: Herbie, 66, was a member of Seventies bands Fox, whose hits included Only You Can, and Yellow Dogs, who got to No8 with Just One More Night.

He was also part of Van Morrison's backing band for years & appeared with both bands on Top Of The Pops. He also released his own solo album, available on his website, last year.

"I've been on stage before as a backing guitarist but not on my own. That night I was like a teen full of nerves. .. to come this far for me is a great, great feeling"

  • The guy on the acoustic looks like he is ripped to the tits

  • @thesteveus Pretty sure the guy in question is the same Herbie Armstrong, who's just auditioned on Britains Got Talent. look him up see if you agree. He's actually a 60's legend in Ireland, being the most prominent guitarist in Them.

  • The guy playing the acoustic is Herbie Armstrong who appeared on Britain's Got Talent tonight

  • never knew Hazel Blears had a pop career....

  • Ageing DJ tosspot Steve Wright always likes to come out with something negative or rude about virtually any decent tune or band. Stick to watching X-factor or some other dreary dross which is obviously right up your street, wanker.

  • The "Tubey thing" someone mentioned earlier is the wonderful talkbox. Played using a guitar or a synth it sounds much like a vocoder or auto tune machine, but it takes much more skill on the part of the musician to pull off that wonderful sound. The late Roger Troutman mastered it during the eighties, as did Herbie Hancock.

Love this Fox song. Totally addicted to it now.

  • Alison Goldfrapp's Mum?

  • Why doesn't the radio play this anymore? Heard it on bbc4 for the first time since '76.

  • The flow of the backing track is perfect

  • and we all love cheese, its almost as tasty as Noosha.

  • CHEESE!

  • Don't forget folks! - catch it if you can, TOTP BBC4 Thurs 14th April 7.30pm - Fox with 'S-S-S-Single Bed' again - but a different performance from this one with lovely Noosha now wearing a divine black dress - enjoy! :-)

  • Ch ch ch choon! How much funk have they crammed in here?!

  • Thanks BBC4, Im now ADDICTED to this song!! Love it!

  • Heard it on BBC 4 too, love it!

  • whats with the guys face at 00.50 he looks as though he,s just stepped in some dog sssssshit.

  • I also caught it on BBC4 - This is awesome!

  • '...no rooom for your sweet head...' hmm well not on the pillow any way... ; )

  • No wonder punk came along.

  • Me too. It was on BBC4.

  • watched this on totp last night. cant stop playing it now

  • Thanks BBC4 and thanks for posting this video. Totally forgotten this song for 35 years until yesterday. She was a couple of years ahead of her time with this.. although shame the rest of the group wasn't! I guess, in 1976, we kids would've all rushed out to buy a piece of clear plastic tube, thinking it was going to have an amazing voice-changing effect?!

  • just seen it on the bbc4 1976 totp. Was transfixed and listened to it loads on here since. Why have i never heard it before ? Its brilliant !

  • @ekcopyephilips Me too!

  • It is good, and I to have just seen this on Top Of The Pops BBC4, I found her and her voice annoying though, thought the guys looked great!

  • Brilliant, just seen it on Totp 1976 BBC4, definetley shades of Goldfrapp, Altered images even abit of Sparks

  • @misanthropekill97 - and Gina X ( No GDM )

  • this has made my day

  • This is where Alison Goldfrapp got her look!

  • She is tiny! Must be 4ft10in. No wonder she only needs a single bed.

  • a mistake to wear the outfit? oh f off steve wright

  • Remember this song well and still liked...Loving fan Margaret, Perth WA xoxo

  • loved that tubey voice thing, before autotune?

  • Wiggy - you're fantastic! thanks

  • Just been reading Noosha's wiki entry.I remember this music clip(as we called 'em pre MTV) on Australian Top 40 show Countdown,(I was 9 in 1976)and didn't know she was Australian. As an Aussie,I think that's cool. And I think she's great.Sort of a glamrock Betty Boop with attitude. As for the outfit,I think it suits her.At least she's not getting her baps out and acting like a go-go dancer.

  • I still have this song on an album called "Ripper '76"

  • @trackdaypro so what

  • @shaftsbury94 I made a comment in regards to the clip, did you? Idiot...........

  • @trackdaypro I remember those LPs.Weren't they compilations made by Ktel?I think my sister used to buy them.Didn't they have a pic of a girl's bum in short denim jean cut-offs with a hole in them? LOL!My sister's record was left near a window and warped in the sun so she bought another one.Double LOL! Oh,simpler times then.

  • Super, what a hot summer that was when this was in the charts

  • So risque in its day now, great music and performance.

  • This song is some of the best white boy/girl funk I've heard ever!

  • Remember the song; and I remember the girll I was with too!!!!

  • looks like goldfrapp indeed but alison goldfrapp has a better voice.....

  • Fox by name fox by nature!

  • Goldfrapp must have their birth from Fox

  • Ahhhhh, the memories !!! if you like this, try this, b52s dirty back road :-)

  • It is great that these obscure pre-MTV tunes are still alive somewhere. Thanks for posting!

  • Still looks fresh and sounds it really .... I love the outfit and make up myself ... and ..... Gold Frapp have ripped them off ! xx

  • well they wasnt really pretty, but they voices and music is so cool :)

  • I never really got this song. Is she chucking someone out or compelling them to stay??

  • @CasparWilson shes saying that she only has another single bed so they will have to sleep together

  • @CasparWilson shes saying that she only has another single bed so they will have to sleep together

just kidding....shes telling him that she wont sleep with him

  • @CasparWilson She's glad to spend the evening drinking and chatting with him but says they can't sleep together. Thought it was a bit rough the guy missing the last train - I always had this vision of him plodding out into town in search of a hotel...

  • always loved Noosha in this

  • April 1976, the month/year that experienced not only this song, but the birth of... ME!

  • voice like claire grogan

  • voice like claire grogan

  • bit of Lynsey de Paul, bit of Kate Bush, bit of magic - great stuff

  • Noosha lol, love it. a standout song from the 70s, Early B-52s too, classic, but the 70s had it`s fair share of crap too !

  • apparently noosha used to be in a folk band called Wooden Horse. i think you can find them on lastfm.

  • My dad had an album when I was a kid which I loved to play, tried to find it on cd in a bout of nostalgia but haven't found anything. Still love it

  • @xtcdeargod and the album is ?

  • @snowball1988

as I said I love them both but this song brings back so many memories and joy

  • I watched it yesterday on german television during a special TOTP 1976 marathon.Never heard it before, because i'm too young. I have to admit, it sounds fresh even today. Great song !!!!

  • I still have the vinyl single and it cops a thrashing

  • Memories

  • I forgot this memories back.

  • Alison Goldfrapp owes a lot to this woman I think (love them both though)

  • @Kingfisher921 i discovered noosha thorugh being a Goldfrapp fan... they are spookily similar arn't they? i do think of noosha as the 70's alison, or alison as the 00's noosha...

  • funny facial expression i agree ,people happier in the old days i think.

  • @jeffbiggles

who was that man who made the funny expressions it hilirious.

  • @Forestamtul

Hi. It's Herbie Armstrong. He's still making music and it's really good stuff too - he's on MySpace.

  • @EamonnWag1

And he appeared on Britain's Got talent tonight

  • Hope Kenny is OK and prospers...fortunate to have known Her......why is She laid low? hope She is OK

  • @cioupty ditto

  • @cioupty hurray :)

  • @cioupty Cringe is a good word to describe the feeling that overwhelms one when listening to the dross they churn out nowadays. Even as a gay man, I can truly say: "They don't make birds like that anymore".

  • you don't have to be old, just appreciate things that happened before you were born.

  • S-S-S-S-Shit, dig those haircuts man - LOL

  • Marcy Gray / Madonna eat your heart out.

  • She sounds like Claire Grogan or should I say Claire Grogan sounds like her

  • The song "See Those Eyes" was Clare's tribute to Noosha.

  • She has the most individual, great voice...cool song, haven't heard it for years, way way cooooool :P

  • Watching her reminds me so much of Goldfrapp.

  • Great quality vid for such an old song. Was this aired recently?

  • yeh it was on TOTP 2 which used to show old recordings from TOTP, i think this may have been repeated around 2006
