I can think of at least 1 American persian Bahai individual who was a bodybuilder where Robert Cheeke began being at competitive vegan body builder at Gold's Gym in Corvallis, Oregon. Robert Cheeke is now 1 of the most renown bodybuilder in the world. I don't know if the persian Bahai ever followed his example. What does it take for these Bahais figure out the wisdom of their own teachings?

@NasimATBird It is certainly more compassionate not to eat meat. But Baha'i Faith isn't here to force people to live a certain way. We can read the Writings for ourselves and decide how we want to live. There's more important issues now, e.g., world poverty, violence, terrorism, etc, that humanity has to worry about. The Baha'i Writings say gradually meat eating will be phased out, but it's not unlawful for Baha'is to eat meat. We can live how we want without forcing our choices on others.

@Bahai1844 D reason people eat meat is because they dont think, r ignorant & lazy 2 make possitive changes or do reseach! Its not EZ 2 go vegan, it stars from inside then outside. You need 2 change d way u see world. Main reason 4 most worldy problems: poverty violence terrorism etc is ignoring things most people call worthless such as killing other animals. Meat is source of terror = murdering innocent animals.

@Bahai1844 Eating meat or cruelty is not a personal choice, its murder & taking advantage of the weak. If your friend eats human flesh, would you say the same thing! People ate each other in the past, human sacrifice,..... but cant do it now because its against law. Non-human animals cant fight 4 their rights & this is why they r abused in many way & killing eating wearing them seems normal.

@NasimATBird To refrain from eating meat is truly a worthy and smart goal. For pure economical reasons, so many poor people could be fed with the same food that is given to animals before slaughter. The amount of resources (food, water, land) and environmental costs due to livestock production, compounded with the pollution caused by poverty (less efficient methods, clearing of rainforests and lack of proper sanitation) amounts to disaster. To be more sustainable, meat production should stop.

Just to clarify: meat is not unlawful, nor is the wearing of fur. @AJatheistgod God existance is a different subject. About bacteria, bacteria are no animal. they are alive but not animals. your hair & finger nails are alive too but does it hurt when u trim it!. The same is true about plants. Humans are naturally plant eaters not killers of other animals. You are an animal too so if eating other animals is ok then you will probably eat humans too in case you have to, for survival reasons!

@NasimATBird the Question of "God" is certainly related. Your argument that humans were not "designed" to eat meat is a creationist idea. You might as well believe God created Eve out of the rib of Adam 6000 years ago. Human teeth are not "designed" to do anything. What you should focus on is improving the conditions of slaughterhouses, I agree many are inhumane. And plants have rights too, so should bacteria and insects. You kill small insects every time you drive a car. Insect Rights!

@AJatheistgod Bahaullah stated: "RELIGION MUST BE IN ACCORD WITH SCIENCE AND REASON". It means that we must use our BRAINS & not 2 live like PROGRAMMED ROBOTS. There are rules that change as humanity progresses & avoiding animal products is one of these rules because killing eating wearing animals is not in accord with science & reason.

@NasimATBird -- Actually, Baha'is have this teaching backwardsl. Both the Bab and Baha'u'llah were anti-technology and anti-science. (The Bab even forbid study of it.) BuL's comments about the invention of the automobile is one sign that slipped through. The teaching is, actually, that science must not violate or exceed religious ideals. Baha'is have turned it around backwards now and think it means "Science should not be restrained."

Well I don't pretend to know what Baha'u'llah would do, but I do know that it is wrong to look down on people who eat meat. Perhaps you are privileged and have had a wonderful life and can make that choice. Perhaps you were born in a country with a great deal of resources to parents who provided much for you. However, I shouldnt have to remind you that there are people less fortunate than you who rely on animals for survival and I refuse to believe they are sinning.

@9zreed I grew up very poor, on welfare. I have been working class all my life, never making more than $20,000 a year and I am vegan. Being poor is not an excuse to eat the corpses of innocent creatures who lived lonely, miserable lives and died horrible deaths. I never went to college or had the advantage of being super educated but I do have a heart, that's all it takes to know that I have no right to eat a fellow earthling when I don't have to.

there are many rules regarding vegetarianism you're right. however, in the kitab-i-aqdas Baha'u'llah dictates a way to hunt under the protection of God, by invoking the Greatest Name before doing so. And also I remember reading a vignette about Abdu'l Baha where He accepted chicken from a poor person who offered it, because it would have offended the person either way. "Offend ye not and be ye not offended." - Abdu'l Baha

In the Baha'is "Most Holy Book," also called the "Book of Laws," their founder, Baha'u'llah says that when hunting, the hunter should say something about God whenever he kills a critter. He also wrote this:

"Wear sable (sammur) just as you wear silk and squirrel-skin and other things."

That's in the Baha'i Book of Laws. End the Baha'i Faith, because it is destroying the White race. WhiteID●Com. The White race is more important than the fake Baha'i Faith.

Thankyou Nasim jan!! As a Baha'i of Iranian background, I am thrilled that this video has been posted by an Iranian. I am a vegan and all Iranians (Baha'i, Muslim, Christian, etc) make fun of me for not eating meat, or they tell me I should start eating meat again. They don't realise that once you've been vegan for a long time, even the smell of meat and some other animal products makes you sick. Anyone considering becoming a vegan, take B12 and B complex supplements. Trust me on that one.
