  • @shadowtitus There's a fan-released Space Quest 7 called "Vohaul Strikes Back" - check it out at sqvsb.com

  • When the video ended I went to go walk to the left and realized I wasn't playing the game hahaha.

  • Space Quest Movie?

    Anything's possible!

  • I swear they copied the time travel part when Roger falls through the psychadelic colors in "Day of the Tentacle"

  • When I first played this game as a kid, I got scared so bad by the zombie screaming at roger at the beginning, that I didn't play it for a couple weeks.

  • @DiskoDRU Me fucking to man haha! i remember that shit like it was yesterday, I was like 4 years old and whenever that zombie came up Id shut off my pc and just not play it for awhile hahaha and it just kept happening to me..good times :D

  • I love how they... "Edit" out the swearing.

"I dont wanna know, What the-" *Other guy comes in*

And when the latex babes catpure him: "Realease me, Bi... Witch!"

  • @Weegee905 Don't forget "And to prevent you from being a pain in my..... future."

  • some good midi music right there... painstakingly made.

  • LOL @ 5:12

  • I remember playing this as a six year old child, this game freaked me out, equivalent of getting high.

  • I think this was the most expensive game I have ever bought. It costed the equivalent of 80 euros back when it was released. Think it was because it was on a CD-ROM. This is where I realized Game companies were really fucking up their customers. For years prior, they said games were expansive cuz floppy disks meant easy copy, this was a CD ROM(not susceptible to piracy at the time), yet its price was double any other game on sale.

    Good game though.

  • They dont make games like they used to

  • Ah Space Quest, your sarcastic humor always cracked me up. Thanks for the trip down nostalgia lane! Now I'll probably go look up a playthrough of it.

  • This has got to be one of the best, most original comical time traveling 90's game ...ever. Roger will always have my heart :-O

  • 5:08 is pure gold.

  • i STILL want a space quest 7!

  • @shadowtitus a couple space quest fan games have been made using the AGS system. There is also one in old school AGI

  • Is the line, if I take the time to explain more we'll both be parking lot pizza?

I used to think he was saying time to explain about parking lot pizza.

It was always garbled in mine, as well, so I NEVER KNEW what they were saying, especially as a little kid.

  • I miss old adventure games like this. Gary Owens's voice was the best

  • I freakin' love the Allumminum Mallard. What a ship!

  • amazing game, love every second of it

  • Very well. You give the moving walkway a warm kiss. Now you both feel special.

  • the 4th intro theme song was my fav space quest song.

  • When the guy says "You'll understand soon", I always remembered the extra "oon" glitch at the end. I think its in every version of Space Quest 4 with the voices. I played this game so much I have memorized every song, every voice, every puzzle, everything. :-)

    My favorite game ever.

  • Ah a button, perhaps I'll give it a press!

  • You're not sure what it is, but you bet it would look cool spewing through the propellers!

  • You lick a thick smear of filth off the street, finding the taste unpleaseant. You quickly swallow it. What a smart person you are.

  • Best to keep your taste-buds packed away there, Buckwheat!

  • Ugh! You had to taste it. Well, you now know it tastes more like dead gerbils than cotton candy.

  • Sierra should bring back Roger and his Aluminum Mallard.

  • Yeah, but what I don't get is how he oes from brown hair...to blonde. All from a trip to Magmetheus?

  • You push a key when Roger is talking in the bar befoe the SP come in and you can hear his whole story! Heck I might even check out Robertaland!

  • Hey, thanks for the tip! I never knew you could do this. Hysterical. :)

  • I remmember going osmwere then seeing the screaming old man, weird man

  • I could NEVER, get past the shopping mall. got into the womens clothes, worked at hte burger store till they went too fast, everytime i tried to leave via the arcade or stairs the soldiers would kill me!

  • Yeah , that's mostly a timer issue with new computers. Have you tried running it on an emulator like DOSbox or something? :O

  • oh I loved this old games when I was a kid, reminessing all the fun I had!

  • I want this game again.

  • Then get it ^^

  • @ZarlaSheenaza

they now have the collection out for windows XP now

  • @nichlsonstu I could never get passed tge Roller derby part in the mall

  • @nichlsonstu if you're running it in dosbox try to slow down playback. even on an old 486 I had that problem. all you needa do though is get out of the arcade by going down the aisle on the right, then enter the zero gravity rink and float up to the top level letting them chase you, The guys don't handle well in zero gravity. then float back down and go back to the arcade and steal their time pod.

  • Whyxd Roger such a pussy ?

  • This game is fantastic.

    so much nostalgia right now...

  • they didn't think to kill the sequel police?

  • Sierra used to be epic.. the games it released were the basis of my childhood <3

  • i used to love this game

  • AWESOME

  • The IV is the best of the series...

I like the atmosphere of the game and his music...

What a beginning.... Is like a film...

  • Space Quest 2 is harder. 7 is The best though

  • There is no SQ7...

  • I do object, my good sir, Space Quest 8 was far superior to Space Quest 7

  • Am I nerd for luving this ?

  • not at all, all people love this, jocks and so called "cool guys and hot chicks" play videogames also, you know!

  • that monologue at the end is very reminiscent of Firesign Theater...

  • The worst thing was when you were supposed to take down that code shown when you first time enter that timemachine. What a nice thing to notice near the end that you can't get further because of that. Teached me never to play this again.

  • Haha ever tried the other Space Quests? They do the same thing.

  • @ZarlaSheenaza

Roger Wilco is such a powerful character.

He should be in the hall of fame.

  • you realize you could just look the code up online..

  • No. Its individual code for every game session. Obviously I would have checked it otherwise.

  • While SQ3 was probably the best in the series, SQ4 just fails. There's no puzzles, it's completely linear, the storyline is clichéd. They probably figured out in the marketing department that it's the graphics what sells the game; writing is secondary.

  • How is the storyline cliched, and how is this any less linear than the other games in the series, like 2, 1, 5, or 6?

  • Ah, you're right about that. I meant to say that the sci-fi parody thing feels tired here.

  • I don't really see how SQ4 does anything differently than the others in terms of what and how it parodies things.

  • fuk u, wilco is the mang!!!! dawg hoe bitch!!!!

  • i luved those bars....... so awesome even thou the martial law sux :P

  • The Narrator in this game was freakin' hilarious. Some of the junk he says he so damn funny...

"Thanks for playing! You've been a real pant load!"

  • "The change machine looks like a time machine, more than the time machine looks like a time machine...for a change."

  • "Zap, zap! You're dead!"

  • I miss Space Quest I might start playing again

I wish they would have finished SQ7 :(

  • The guy who saved Roger sounds like a real nerd.

  • Haha

  • @FallGuy82 The voices were all the internal devteam.

  • @sslaxx

What ? Including the Latex Babes of Estros ??

    Are you sure ?

  • @johnyringoz Yup.

  • I couldn't stand the PC version's music. The soundtrack came from the Amiga version, in my humble opinion.

  • ahhhhh my 16 !!!! go back again muejejee

  • i miss the series.

i can't get DOSBox to work right... :(

  • CD rom version? I never knew this game had voice

  • Not only did it have voice but they got Gary Owens for the announcer for IV and VI in later versions. Pretty cool.

  • God I love this game.

  • I'm thinking Rooster Teeth played these games XD

  • sq 5 the next mutation brings back memories

  • i've never played this one actually. where did you get the cd version. i downloaded one from an old abandonware site and its the floppy with no speech.

  • I actually own like, three actual CD copies of it I've gathered over the years. :B The original release, the first rerelease of the series, and I think the second rerelease? I LIKE SPACE QUEST IS WHAT I'M SAYING

  • oh man it's a great series..sierra adventures in general were masterpieces.

  • I played these games as a kid back in the early 90's. I still play them to this day. Space Quest IV was my all time favorite. I really wish someone would pick up the series and make a new official adventure. My favorite area in the game was the mall. Sometimes when my girlfriend and I go to Macy's in the mall I hear the song from the Big and Tall store in my head.

  • my favorites r SQ3 and SQ4. i ll never forget the SQ4 mall and the SQ3 monolight-burger spacestation or the junkyard.

the spaceship in SQ3 was just GREAT!

too sad that SQ6 wasnt that good but at least it ended the series.

  • When Roger is telling his story at the bar, press the spacebar. The intro will pause, and you can hear Roger tell the whole thing. It's a pretty long recording, during which he describes the ending of Space Quest II, as well as all of Space Quest III.

  • Wow, really? I did not know that.

  • hahaha that game was fuckin dope

  • The powerful Quad Quark drives rev TO LIFE! Time and space BEND under the tribulations of the time-rip transfluxers. Your adrenaline (and stomach) REEL with the hyperbolic hyprivaly. And finally, FINALLY, nothing much happens. That must have been an invalid code, try again.

  • Got to love old-school copy protection methods! (Not like the silly DRM crap of today)

  • I thought the hardest part of this game was getting through the roller rink in the Galleria mall without getting shot.

  • Who wouldn't have fun helping Roger Wilco rip Time a new one?

  • Really like this atmosphere, the drawings, and our goofy hero:)

  • did they use the doom font in the intro credits?!

anyway, hats off to the 2 guys from andromeda! this is propably my favorite SQ game (even though i'm terrible at it.)

  • man i love this game! "it tases like blood, it is blood. you've shredded your tounge"!

  • Wow this is surprisingly cinematic for a dos game. More so than the Lucas Arts classics I've played.

  • I wonder what happened to Roger Jr.'s friend?

  • he's just filler.

  • This game cracks me up every time I play it.

Luckily I grew up playing this version with the voice.

Funny as hell. I remember at the beginning if you got shot the voice said:

"Thank you for playing space quest 4. You've been a real pant load".

    LOL!!!!!!!!

  • The streets of Xenon used to scare me as a kid.

  • me too! I was so afraid of that wondering zombie guy. I liked the version without the voice over better. I don't think Gary Owens ever truly learned how to master sarcastic tone.

  • Haha, I know what you mean about the zombie. I used to try talking to him to find a way out, but that was not the way to go. LOL. I loved Gary Owens's voice. It added even more humor to the game.

  • haha yeah you try to talk to that nutty zombie that screams - i was a kid when i used to play it, scared the hell outta me

  • That used to give me nightmares more than anything in the whole world. It still creeps me out like nothing else, holy shit.

  • I was so glad when I left the streets!

  • I miss the adventure game genre so very much. I haven't taken an interest gaming since Sierra and LucasArts changed course.

  • What do you mean the entire premise was on breaking the fourth wall? Do you mean the humor in the game, or the genre itself?

  • The entire premise of the game, I mean, with the Sequel Police and everything. :D

  • Oh, right! The time travel that used sequels instead of years!

I'm so used to the game that I haven't thought about that in years. :D

  • "Casually glancing at the status line, you happen to notice that you're in Space Quest 12"

    rofl

  • 03.08 DAFT PUNK

  • Wow the alien melting from his own puke is genius

  • i'm so jealous. i only had the diskette version (i.e. no voice)

  • I originally played SQ4 on an Amiga 500, disk based. No voice, but the music was so much better than the PC's.

  • This is one of the best and funniest adventure games I´ve ever played

  • Dying on this game looks about as fun as winning. THAT OWNS.

  • I dare ya, anyone who plays these games will want to die. :)

  • this is the best adventure game ever. perfect

  • Classic :)

  • sq4 is deff the funniest space quest

  • i want to see a new spacequest if they make it i will buy it :)

  • There WAS Supposed to be a Seventh One. But it was put down like a dog. :(

  • Damn. This game looks amazing.

  • Legendary game. I remember you'd keep getting killed by a robot if you stayed to long on either side of the street and didn't hide. Then narrator would say "We thank you for playing Space Quest 4, as usual you've been a real pant load!"

  • My personal favorite was, "Zap, zap. You're dead."

  • Good to see the old Alumminum Mallard at the beginning...

  • Sierra made the best adventure games like the Space Quest series, The DIG and Sam & Max. Too bad they stopped. I think those games are way better than a lot of games that come today because they had a very cool feel when you played them. The graphics are old but they are beautiful.

  • The Dig and Sam & Max were actually by Lucasarts, I believe. :O

  • You're right, The Dig and Sam & Max were made by LucasArts. Sorry for the mix up.

I'm sure however that Sierra made the King's Quest series. LucasArts also made the Monkey Island series and Full Throttle.

  • This is just what I was looking for. Thanks!

  • A pity Sierra has turned it's back on adventure gamers and stopped making these Quest games. Now all they make are FPS games.

I still think Dwight Shultz with a hairpiece would be a perfect Roger Wilco.

  • It is, it really is. I miss these games so much.

  • im super glueing my self to this world with this thing. called time with is hot and cold.

  • 609-16-2775,

  • I remember buying this game. The graphics were amazing for the time, especially compared to the previous versions. I grew up playing these games, pure awesomeness...funny games, too! I didn't have a sound card back then, just internal speaker...lol

  • Man this was hiiiiiiigh-tech when this came out, heh, I was lucky enough to have a 486! It was like 7000 dollars or something when we bought it lol.

  • I remember buying a 20 meg hard drive for $700 bucks back around that time. lol.

  • wow! thanks for this. I love Roger Wilco :)

  • sure brings back memories, thanks for the vid

  • This brings back so many memories. I got the game for Christmas when I was about 9. When I watched the intro the speech was all choppy and I couldn't figure out why. Computers back then had a "turbo" button that would increase the clock speed by a few mhz, I had to turn that on so it would run. 386 FTW. I love this series , 4 was great but I think 5 was my favorite even though it didn't have voice acting.

  • man voice acting and gfx hold up remarkebly well, this wasnt my fave of them all tho.

  • I couldn't stand the FM synthesis music in this version. The Amiga version had such a better soundtrack.

  • Wow, this game is a classic! Love the puzzles, story, art, music and everything! Hopefully this kind of interactive fiction will make a big comeback in the future.

  • His story actually goes on and on ;) If I remember correctly, you can move the mouse to the top which freezes the game. However, he should keep on talking...

  • Yeah, that's right! That's how you could trigger speech and text if I remember right...doing something during the intro to lock them both in.

  • I checked the differences on the two, and it looks as though the original floppy version looked better O.o

  • I dunno, I like the voice acting. :O

  • What, like the graphics? The graphics were pretty much the same in both, there were just some minor changes.

  • Yeah, in the ending, Beatrice was prettier in the diskette version. That's all I could tell was different from the two.

  • I'd record the scenes on the original non-talking one, but it's not as interesting as the CD talking version..

  • God I wished I owned the CD-Edition of SQ4, as it is, I own the orignal MS-DOS 5.25" HD floppy disk XD...must find one somewhere...

  • I never actually got the diskette version. I only have the CD-Rom one. :O

  • Is the voice actor for Roger, William Shatner?

  • You should record entire game and post it. "Speed Run" it as they call it

  • Hmm...I could potentially do a Speed Run for Sq4...I'd have to do some practice to get through the whole thing, but I could prooobably do that. I'd miss a lot of the little secrets here and there tho...

  • SPace Quest= my favorite game series ever.

  • i forgot ALL about this game since i played when i was little...i do remember seeing this scene...but now i feel like playing it! can anyone tell me where i can download it? THANKS !!!

  • You can try checking out abandonia.com, they usually have old games fer download.

  • "Casually glancing up at the status line, you happen to notice it's Space Quest XII!" I love that sentence.

  • FOURTH WALL WHAT FOURTH WALL

  • This is great!

  • I love it too :)
