  • Hi synch! i just read a good critique of integral theory by Jorge Ferrer called "Revisioning Transpersonal Theory: A participatory Vision of Human Spirituality" He talks about what you are saying.....a more inclusive and relaxed acceptance of personal spiritual experiences....i am over simplifying but forgive me as i am not a scholar:-)......thank you for your vids,

  • i will make a video to address these issues soon.

  • im hurt that you think i have done nothing substantial except for frivolous resentment. i did not mean for our friendship to turn out this way.

  • Don't be hurt- just take responsibility for the public comments you made in response to JSBlanch's original video. I'm interested in your critique of Wilber's model- like I said, there aren't many on youtube. :o)

  • Thanks for the response dude!! First.. Let me clarify: I have no problem with the Integral model whatsoever, I actually thinks that most of it's logic is quite valid and substantial. My point was that so many people just make videos where they are just reading or rewording excerpts from Ken Wilbur books and throwing them off like it's their own idea.. and using that model as if it is by no question "The" model... room for no interpretation. I'm just saying Be yourself ya know...

  • and as far as spirituality not being complicated... yeah it is and it isn't. Such is the way of Tao. It is both... hard and soft... dark and light.... it is up to you to see what you see. It just so happens that by human nature we tend to complicate everything that is naturally simple. It seems like that is the keystone of the growing problem of disconnection with everything from our own self to other people to nature and creation in general.

  • just an example: Western thought has fro a long time proclaimed that the soul lives in the body, when before in the same thought models the body was in the soul. You see what I mean? Complicating things that we absolutely cannot 100% agree upon as a society or as a species or whatever. I'm just saying that it's all up to you, nobody can tell you the answer to the "Riddle". But thats only if you see it as a riddle.... Peace bro.

  • The cool thing is I never expected that you and synth1216, therefore you've been yourselves quite nice. :)

  • Not sure what you mean..?

  • That you agreed like this.

  • Original Buddhism is devoid of dogma and mental concepts that intend to propagate certain gain if followed. To be an original Buddhist, is simply to awaken originally to your true nature. Awakened, to our actual experience and original being of existence.

  • In our practice we learn that to live in your sleep, is to live in a dream, in a reality constructed purely of mental formations and concepts, this is why our practice, is our awakening itself. It is in this manner that we believe, we are able to experience the complete self, the absolute identity of our nature. This is original Buddhism, meaning our original awakening of our being.

  • Thank you for your response MZ! Hope to hear from you often.

I tend to agree with Traleg Rinpoche when he says:

"Without a conceptual framework, meditative experiences would be totally incomprehensible. This interpretative act requires appropriate conceptual categories and the correct use of those categories."

When practicing State Training,it is true that the busy mind is a common concern. However, I believe that when properly employed it acts in concert with gnosis. Co-gnosis(cognition)

  • Most true. The word cognise or recognise has the following etymology: fron Latin gnoscere ['ngnoskere], an addition of co/con for emphasis, and ultimately from the same root Proto-Indoeuropean words as the Greek word Gnosis, and the english word 'to know', or 'to have a knack at something'. There was a time about 3500 BC, when most European languages were part of a dialect continuum of dialects of the Proto-Indoeuropean language that was mutually comprehensible to about 2600 BC.

  • This was a good talk my friend. 5 stars for the simplicity and the genuineness of the response.

  • I think this is good as a defence. I've no corrections to contribute to this. Good. I like it as much as I did the Integral World Federation video. Though, I think introducing the ideas of Peter Collins as an addition, less of an antithesis, more of a synthesis, that has explanatory value about higher integration, beyond vison-logic.

  • I thought that introducing Peter Collins' ideas would be nice in some ways, but I am inept at them for now.

  • self-discipline is the cornerstone of our own happiness. without it, nothing will work in our lives.

    good vid.

  • Right on what you said about the new age community robbing spirituality of Discipline... absolutely... certain people have turned it into a freaking social club where they just mold their ego into a new age ego...

I think about it like this, in order to have a beautiful temple, you must tear down the old temple, tear down the old foundations [or lack thereof] build a new foundation, then build a new temple..

  • Buddha's Lost Children.

    excellent film. beautiful.

i just watched it, faved it, and here you are!

  • Excellent, that's exactly what I was talking about, lol. At that point all that matters is their mantra of EVERYBODY=GOD while they lose all concept of The Work.

  • i like the call for a critique.

great words about reaching deeply into esotericism.

i like the positivity and the affirmation of this video.

also, the recognition of discipline and fun relationship.

    thank you for this video.
