I encourage the sale of the album not just because it'll help me make more music with the income, but also because there are no mistakes in the tracks! These vids here were posted a long time ago so they have the mistakes that I recorded. The Lucid album that's on iTunes is much higher quality and the sound is louder because the songs were mastered by an engineer at Universal Studios so you don't have to pump the volume so much to hear what's going on.
Good stuff. I'm glad you're enjoying the tracks. FYI though, the recordings on iTunes and such are much better quality so they'll pump more treble and bass into your speakers (or headphones). The vids are set at 96kbps but the tracks that are up for sale are at 256kbps. The whole album is $5, plus there's a song that isn't here on YouTube. I have no problem with people ripping from the vids, that's why they are here. Just thought everyone should know better quality exists ;-)

I'm trying to cover as many sub-genres as I can with every new song so each will be quite different. The next one should have a more "epic" feel to it... hopefully. But I like fast paced songs too so I always have ideas in mind for those.
And... heh, I'm not really that fast a swimmer compared to people like my sister who holds 9 of 11 school records, but it does help to have fast music in your head when trying to get a personal best, especially on sprints. It gives you something to try and keep up with. Different is good, and I look forward to hear it, because epic sound is good in music to me. ^-^
That is very true. I use fast paced songs to keep up a certain speed on a treadmill, elliptical, push-ups and such. If that is what works, go for it!
Yes, epic is very pleasing to my ear as well. I'll let you and everyone else know when it's at least an imminent release here on YouTube, MySpace and such. I always release here before submitting to iTunes and all the other major distributors to get some constructive feedback in case I change my mind on something. Wish me luck!

I got quite a few messages and comments asking if my songs were available for download.
So I finally decided to invest more time in trying to find a distributor. It set my latest song back but the good news is...
I have finally found a DISTRIBUTOR!
The songs will go live for download on iTunes, Amazon Music, etc. in a little while. They said it takes a while for the songs to be posted (6-8 weeks) but stay tuned. THE DAY DRAWS NEAR!
To all, thank you for the supportive comments. I am still working on the 6th track. Finishing the music, then recording the vocals (not mine). (Yes, my first dabble at vocals in a song so I hope it turns out well).
I'm working on getting the songs to iTunes, Amazon Music, Beatport, etc. It's just hard finding the right company to distribute but I'm working on it. Since 5 songs to date isn't "album length" maybe I'll release it as an EP. We'll see. Stay tuned!

I love hearing that other people are trying to make tracks of their own so keep at it. Sometimes you just can't find that one song that speaks to you, you don't even know if it exists... so what do you do? You make it yourself!

Anyway, I hear you on the time. I have very little time to record now that I'm in college. In HS, I popped out 3 songs in a single year. Now it's a miracle if I make ONE. Them's the breaks.
What I use is a mix between my synths and programs. SoD for example uses my Korg and Garageband together for different things. FL Studio is good. I've used it and like it. I just use GB more bc I've got a Mac now

I used garage band before, I liked the sounds on there, FL Studio has too much stuff that I really don't even use most of the filters on it because I don't know how....or don't even know some exists. LoL
No prob. Yea, GB has some high-end sounds and you can make them even better if you tweak them a bit. Just play with the filters, and although you can't name the effects, you'll know what's up from experience.
I also noticed from your profile vid that you like video games and anime. I don't LOVE anime, but you mentioned DBZ, that's enough to start a conversation haha. I DO love DBZ since I was a kid. MGS(just finished 4) DMC1,2,3,4, FFVII, FFX, you name it. They are reasons for my making music.
That's my inspiration for music to, I love video game music from nintendo music like Mega Man to new RPG's like Final Fantasy 12. Love it all! And yes! DBZ is amazing, gotta love that show it's bad ass, and I'm waiting for them to make a GOOD movie for DBZ completely in CGI none of this live action DragonBall Evolution poo caca's! LoL

I don't really think it sounds game-y but if it was ever played in a video game soundtrack... well that'd be awesome. I'm a gamer myself. I'm influenced by DJ's (Armin, Tiesto, A&B, ATB, etc) and also influenced by music from games like Halo, Half-Life 2, Metroid Prime, Final Fantasy VII, FFX, etc.
So if it sounds game-y to you, they may be the culprits... not that I mind...

Thanks for the input. That was good example of CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. Sometimes I get messages that say absolutely nothing about how I can improve the songs...just hate comments.
Obviously, I only listen to people who seem competent in the matter and offer valuable input. So thank you, paddenkop, and anyone else who provides such a mode of criticism. Another constructive example was liljonathan777's commentary. Anyway, I'll be sure to keep the bass in mind for my future songs (provided the bass actually complements the music of course). Probably on a future hardcore-ish song. Although I fluctuate between chill or calm and upbeat.
I strongly recommend watching John Carpenter's Assault on Precinct 13 and/or Escape from New York for inspiration (if you haven't already, that is) - true, their soundtracks sound a bit dated now, but they are definitely cool. I think so, anyway!
NOTE: If you liked this song, spread the word. There is nothing like fan-based advertisement. I've been working on getting the tracks labeled but its been proving difficult, and I'm just a college kid so it's tough.
So if you wanna help me label the tracks so I can sell them, favorite, comment, tell your friends, rate. Anything helps to draw the necessary attention from the right people. also be sure to check out my other vids.
I use several instruments and then combine them all onto a master track. I used my Korg synth for the bassline, melody, and drumbeats, then compiled a whole bunch of effects, sampled them into my synth and over to GarageBand, added guitar, and there you go. So in short, i used my synthesizer and Garageband.
On a personal note, FruityLoops is an excellent place to start. If you feel yourself progressing, you might want to start thinking about getting yourself a high-end synth. Korg is THE best.
I know I've said it before, but this is so 'Assault on Precinct 13' it's unbelievable. The recent remake should definitely have had some music like this in it.
Thanks for the input. I like when people tell what specific parts they liked so I can improve and focus on those. Many seemed to like the random guitar addition at the end of the song. It seems to convey the ending to the song but with a bang. I just might implement that to some other track for the fans.

To the fans:
Thank you all for your unrelenting support.
I got quite a few messages and comments asking if my songs were available for download.
So I finally decided to invest more time in trying to find a distributor. It set my latest song back but the good news is...
I have finally found a DISTRIBUTOR!
The songs will go live for download on iTunes, Amazon Music, etc. in a little while. They said it takes a while for the songs to be posted (6-8 weeks) but stay tuned. THE DAY DRAWS NEAR!

To all, thank you for the supportive comments. I am still working on the 6th track. Finishing the music, then recording the vocals (not mine). (Yes, my first dabble at vocals in a song so I hope it turns out well).
I'm working on getting the songs to iTunes, Amazon Music, Beatport, etc. It's just hard finding the right company to distribute but I'm working on it. Since 5 songs to date isn't "album length" maybe I'll release it as an EP. We'll see. Stay tuned!

Haha thanks for the props. But don't sell yourself short. I wasn't good at making music overnight myself. Just keep going and you will triumph. Remember, it took Thomas Edison more than 500 attempts to perfect the lightbulb.
I love hearing that other people are trying to make tracks of their own so keep at it. Sometimes you just can't find that one song that speaks to you, you don't even know if it exists... so what do you do? You make it yourself!

Do you use a certain music program for your songs or just use your keyboard? I use FL Studio for mine along with my keyboard. I've been listening to your other songs and they all amaze me, I hope to hear more!

Wow, we're in sync here. I just logged on and there is your response (7 minutes go... nice).
Anyway, I hear you on the time. I have very little time to record now that I'm in college. In HS, I popped out 3 songs in a single year. Now it's a miracle if I make ONE. Them's the breaks.
What I use is a mix between my synths and programs. SoD for example uses my Korg and Garageband together for different things. FL Studio is good. I've used it and like it. I just use GB more bc I've got a Mac now

I used garage band before, I liked the sounds on there, FL Studio has too much stuff that I really don't even use most of the filters on it because I don't know how....or don't even know some exists. LoL

No prob. Yea, GB has some high-end sounds and you can make them even better if you tweak them a bit. Just play with the filters, and although you can't name the effects, you'll know what's up from experience.
I also noticed from your profile vid that you like video games and anime. I don't LOVE anime, but you mentioned DBZ, that's enough to start a conversation haha. I DO love DBZ since I was a kid. MGS(just finished 4) DMC1,2,3,4, FFVII, FFX, you name it. They are reasons for my making music.

That's my inspiration for music to, I love video game music from nintendo music like Mega Man to new RPG's like Final Fantasy 12. Love it all! And yes! DBZ is amazing, gotta love that show it's bad ass, and I'm waiting for them to make a GOOD movie for DBZ completely in CGI none of this live action DragonBall Evolution poo caca's! LoL

Video game music FTW! I like the Mega Man X (& X5) music, and FFX. Kinda vintage but I love it.
Yea, that movie blew... very disappointing. Since when can a Kamehameha wave revive you from death? And since when does Goku die from a freaking head-butt? That little shrimp of a dragon sucked too. I really wanted it to FILL the screen. CGI really is the way to go... or GOOD special effects.
Go to my Favorites and watch "New DBZ Live Action". It blew me away. The movie should have been like this.

Nice to see you're spreading the word too ;-) I'm working on music as we speak, but I don't like releasing "unfinished" work so it could take a while for it to come out the way where it sounds just right. Let's say at least a month. But rest assured, the day will come. I will announce it when it comes out. It helps if you've subscribed too so you find out right off the bat when I post the new song. Thanks to all you guys for all the supportive comments. I know it's about freaking time that I post another track already, but as fate would have it, there is one obstacle after another. I promise I'm doing the best I can to release my latest track (which has been in the works nearing completion for, like, ever).
More to the point, the song is going to be a strange eclectic blend of slow, melodic, to explosive takeoff... the usual but in it's own league. Thanks again guys.

I don't really think it sounds game-y but if it was ever played in a video game soundtrack... well that'd be awesome. I'm a gamer myself. I'm influenced by DJ's (Armin, Tiesto, A&B, ATB, etc) and also influenced by music from games like Halo, Half-Life 2, Metroid Prime, Final Fantasy VII, FFX, etc.
So if it sounds game-y to you, they may be the culprits... not that I mind...
;-)

i think your better chance of getting known is to go in live pa battles since i assume ur using midi or pc programs rather than vinyl, where you from? i might be able to help.. theres a live PA battle coming up here in northern cali....

I do not delete negative comments b/c I like to honestly see what people think of my music and yet, there aren't that many...so special thanks to all the fans old and new. Keep it up guys. On a side note, I've been getting messages requesting calm songs like the piano piece video. Since this seems to be the most recently popular video, I'll post here. I have had the video "Echo of Light (Trance Song)" up for a while with not many views so I assume people haven't seen it or it's just not posted on the Search boards maybe? Anyway, if you are one of those "calm" or "chill" trance fans check that video out or my myspace for it. I've been told it's a good "studying" song. Thanks.

Obviously, I only listen to people who seem competent in the matter and offer valuable input. So thank you, paddenkop, and anyone else who provides such a mode of criticism. Another constructive example was liljonathan777's commentary. Anyway, I'll be sure to keep the bass in mind for my future songs (provided the bass actually complements the music of course). Probably on a future hardcore-ish song. Although I fluctuate between chill or calm and upbeat.

I strongly recommend watching John Carpenter's Assault on Precinct 13 and/or Escape from New York for inspiration (if you haven't already, that is) - true, their soundtracks sound a bit dated now, but they are definitely cool. I think so, anyway!

I use several instruments and then combine them all onto a master track. I used my Korg synth for the bassline, melody, and drumbeats, then compiled a whole bunch of effects, sampled them into my synth and over to GarageBand, added guitar, and there you go. So in short, i used my synthesizer and Garageband.
On a personal note, FruityLoops is an excellent place to start. If you feel yourself progressing, you might want to start thinking about getting yourself a high-end synth. Korg is THE best.

Thanks for the input. I like when people tell what specific parts they liked so I can improve and focus on those. Many seemed to like the random guitar addition at the end of the song. It seems to convey the ending to the song but with a bang. I just might implement that to some other track for the fans.
