@Eguan0 No big deal; I'm actually not even sure if I'm right now that I think about it :/
Anyway, I'm not sure how much knowledge you have of japanese animation companies but against your claims I would argue that Hayao Miyazaki and his company Studio Ghibli are the better animation company. They've been making traditionally animated films since at least the seventies if not earlier, and they haven't stopped yet. If you haven't seen one of their films, I'd suggest Spirited Away. It's gold.
@BoltroBankai - That's not quite true. The first American Tail was produced by Steven Spielberg's company Amblin , but the animation was done by the Don Bluth Animation Studio and released in 1986 . The "Amblimation" studio did not exist until 1988 , when Spielberg set up Amblimation in London with the remnants of the crew that animated "Who Framed Roger Rabbit ?" . Amblimation existed from 1988 to 1997 , when it was rolled in to the newly formed Dreamworks Animation .
The animation on Balto is very beautiful, expecially the profiles, and face front views. i mean that a lot of the work done on balto's character is absolutly beautyful and amazes me so much, i just love those shots. for example- when borris tells muk and luk that he will race them to the shore, and balto and borris go to help them out balto slides to a halt and spins aroud and when the camera is on him for that moment, i just love it, on of my favorite shots of balto.
plus i like CGI but only in movies like shreck, Alph and Omega, Bolt, Up, etc, but not really when they mix it with animation, like in balto 3 not so good. and compareing balto and balto 3. in balto i loved the northern lights effects, but in balto 3 which ever studio in universal did that, they rushed it and the northern lights were horrible
@bagnome I dislike how they portrayed the plane as CGI in Balto 3, but it alluded me until I looked closer at it that I finally realized that it was CGI. Honestly, I don't see the reason why to make it in traditional animation since that's what the whole film really was. You're absolutely right about Balto being beautifully animated, I cannot lie about that.
Are they really making We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story on Blu-Ray? when i looked it up on Wikipedia, they said that on Oct. 1st 2010, they are. I really hope they do.
@CaptainConnorsaurus I wish amblimation or amblin studios distribute the japanese anime in japan for kids in 2D, plus, I miss satoshi kon, maybe rintaro will work together with amblin
Well said daikatana117! You read my thoughts exactly. As he said, I was simply comparing that Alexander the Great had an army light years ahead - or much better than - the rival armies of his day. And the coffee thing was just an added touch, saying that ANYONE who worked with Amblimation deserves praise, even if they just served coffee.
I also hold Balto in high regard, It is one of only two other movies that I consider to be on the same level as Lion King, Sadly Balto is not as well known as it should be.
Positive salutations, my friend. I must ask, were you on The Icy Boards? I used some topics discussed in The Icy Boards, and you were a great contributor of the data.
It's not entirely too terrible. Technically the last comment was around January 2010, but that topic was pertaining to the history of Balto sites. If I post, then definitely it will be about the condition of the fan base and reflection on Balto over the years.
Yeah. We don't get very good 2D tv shows and movies anymore. In fact there HARDLY are any left. I can't watch CN, or Nick, or even any Disney channels since most of the shows are live action or CGI. And I consider Dreamworks to be doing better than Pixar. The movies have more quality.
I can't find a "grey area" in animation anymore. Balto was a great balance of child and adult themes; not too complicated for kids, but just enough depth for adults. It's always a kid's animated show, or an adult one (as in Adult Swim). For some reason, there's no "teenage" area that I can find, except 6teen and some others, but even then it's still in a kid's style. I'm positive they created CN Real because of this, which, by the way, is received poorly (I Googled it - people hate it).
I really miss Amblimation Studios. I wished they did more stuff, but now good 2nd animation is overshadowed by today's stadwards. I feel your pain, I don't like CGI either.
To me the best film by amblimation, is an american tail: feivel goes west. Fievel goes west is also one of my most favorites.

(Amblimation = Best Animation Ever) + (Balto = Best Amblimation ever) = (Balto the greatest animated movie ever.)
The logic lines up. Awesome movie!

@bhchilton100 In all respects, I really don't know, but that'd be cool since Beauty and the Beast was released on Blu-Ray.
