Karen was a sad lady in need of lots of love and support. She was always hiding behind a big deceptive smile, yet inside she was dying. I know, because I also struggled with eating diorders. I wish she could see how many people trully loved her, and still do today. Rest in peace Karen. You are an angel.

No one should have to kick the bucket this way. Not only do you lose massive amounts of weight, but it ages you in the face. You walk around looking like a corpse. And at 2:34, Karen looks like a woman MUCH older than 32. At least the beautiful legacy of The Carpenters music remains, but it seems the world still hasn't learned from her untimely death. Young girls are still starving themselves to fit an unrealistic mold.

These examples may have or have not influenced Karen in her strive to re-shape body configuration. But one this was certain, whether it was an influence or not, this was to become the standard look of the future of how beauty was measured in the media. The "pear-shaped" syndrome or the shoulder to hips ratio led to anorexia-nervosa, which led ultimately to her tragic end.

Sad. Never idolise some one for something like anorexia. Many feel as though they will be happiest when thin. Not so. When you get there you're not accomplished or free. You remain a prisoner until you die or you make a choice to live. Life is total choice. Chose to live. I did. Be a strong person within the depths of your soul in all ways. I believe it was February 4th when Karen passed. Yes, it is a nice tribute and your right she has an amazing voice! Nothing can compare.
