Besides, the also build up a stong (military) secret service, KhAD, which had around 100000 men and considered as the elite. They even were able to operate beyond Afg borders, in pak and iran..

i'm not from Afghanistan but i know that they don't speak Arabic (100%), but you need to learn Farsi alphabet (almost the same as Arabic ,but has 6 more symbols) they write the same as Persian and even talk very close to Persian(farsi) called Persian Dari, there are also other languages such as Pashtun(?) but they also use Persian alphabet

Yes they did. The original plan behind their invasion was Soviet soldiers would cover the cities while the Afghan army would take the fight to the enemy in the countryside. It didn't work and the Soviets had to take the lead. Did a lot of damage too. They gave the Afghans a lot of gear so much so that a lot in this parade is of Soviet vintage. Later on they tried to get the Afghans to lead the fight but ultimately failed and had to bug out.

The Afghan camouflage looks like rust patterns to me. My experience is vehicle camouflage only works right after a rain, and before you move. Mud and dust end up being pretty effective camouflage. Winter white wash works for a few hours, but the mud churned up by operations soon gets all over that nice white stuff.
