Two personnel with an area ambulance service arriving on the scene were injured when one of the helicopters exploded after the crash. This was the second medical helicopter crash in the past two days in Arizona. On Friday, a helicopter with three people aboard crash-landed in Ash Fork as it was picking up a patient. RJS

6 dead 1 critcal. This is the second mid-Air Crash in AZ in less than a year. AZ temps in summer along with onset of monsoon triggers hazardous conditions. UPDRAFT - Rising air in the atmosphere. DIFLUENCE - Flow separation of a fluid air stream. DOWNSLOPE - Wind blowing down an incline. HEAT BURST - Sinking downdraft caused by convection. KATABATIC WIND - wind that develops from cooler sinking air down a slope of a mountain. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims. ~RJS
