I think they broke up in the show, cuz of their break up in real life. i would imagine it was difficult for Sophia[Brooke]to work w/CMM[Lucas] so Mark probably decided in the next season they wouldn't be together as lovers.
but im a huge brucas fan and i wish they were together on the show.

one of the saddest scenes in oth history if you ask me, brooke was kind of being a bitch, but i think it was showing that brucas is over, or on the back burner for now at least. I have no real preference between the two, but i feel that he treats peyton better than brooke.
